Absolutely delicious! I wanted to order everything on the menu. Beautiful presentation and the food is simply delicious. The Smoked Aubergine Salad is a popular dish for a reason, a great mix of flavors, light, nutritious, and fresh. We also had on of the specials, a braised pork with membrillo sauce, it was fabulous! I was there right when they opened and the place was full within five minutes. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. They only have a few tables which is why if you don't have reservations or get there early it might be a long wait or difficult to get a tablet but definitely worth the wait.

Wow. Simply amazing! So much care and creativity in every dish. The croquetas de Abuela were easily best croquetas I've had in my life. The carillera was mind blowing. So impressed with this place.

Unfortunately I have to say that this place is much overrated, it's nice ambience but I can't say the same about food. We got there at about 8.15pm while the restaurant opens at 8.30pm and there were already a few people waiting, once they opened the door all tables except for the bar area and the window sill with two chairs were already reserved. Now to the food, we had : fried avocado which is an extremely small bite; steamed vegetables - ok, I don't think you can cook badly the veggies; duck ravioli - way too sweet for the meat ; Soft shell crab sandwich - they didn't have the sandwich so it was served on a brioche, that's the only tasty thing we have had; octopus - way too chewy and salty, I guess it's very hard to make the octopus not tasty in the country with all that octopus next door, but well. If you want to explore , you are welcome to do so, you may have a better experience that we've had.

This was hands down the best meal we had in Spain, if not on our entire trip to Europe. The ambiance was cute and cozy, service was attentive, but best of all the FOOD was to die for. Prices are very reasonable as well. We ordered the bento box as well as the duck ravioli. The bento box had the best ceviche, crispy bite, and poke that I have EVER tasted. It was so good that I suggested to my partner we come back for dinner as well (and I wish we had). The presentation was beautiful and so intricately prepared. I get the sense that any item on their menu would be afforded the same treatment. Do yourself a favor and eat here. They do take reservations seriously so would recommend doing that, otherwise you will be offered a seat at the bar subject to availability.

Stumbled upon this place while waking around Cadiz. Place doesn't open until 8:30 for dinner, but that seems normal dinner hours in Spain. Had no reservations, but the manager fit us in for 2 and the food did not disappoint. The eggplant salad and duck ravioli were amazing. If you want unique and delicious food that's not the run of the mill sidewalk tapas/paella restaurant, check this place out. Well worth it.

So great we went twice! The first day was just by chance that we walked by and they had a reservation cancellation just then. We did not know what to expect, then it turned into our favorite food experience during our entire 15 day Spanish vacation. The Tintio de Veranos were just right(we had them both days) and the croquettes changed daily. Day 1 was chorizo and Sriracha, day 2 was beef. Both were fantastic. Chorizo was our favorite. We had the Vietnamese rolls with deep fried mussels. This was so good we debated getting another one. Day 1 also included their special of the day, a beef taco that was excellent again. Day 2 we had the croquette, and the fried cod with artichoke flower. Light and not heavy. Just the right amount of batter. Then we had the ribs, eat them as a lettuce wrap taco. The meat fell off the bones and the flavor was a sticky Asian bbq. We sat outside at the square both days at mid day and enjoyed watching locals sitting for their lunch and heading home for their siesta. read more

The food was absolutely delicious! There is an extensive wine and tapas menu. We ordered the grilled vegetables, French fries, and Costillas de cerdo Bo Saam. Service was also great, our waiter was fluent in both English and Spanish. We chose to sit outside in the square for dinner, but there is also seating indoors. read more

This Asian-Spanish fusion tapas restaurant was possibly our favorite meal on our journey through Andalusia. Everything we tried was inspired, creative, beautifully presented, and delicious. Unusual flavor combinations but everything worked. Quick, friendly service and reasonable prices. Highly recommended. read more

Outstanding. not really a 'creperie' like yelp says, more of a sit down place. Excellent, atypical menu (e.g.we had tuna cannelloni (excellent), a pork kebab type thing, and potato salad with tuna tartare and IIRC cinnamon. And the dessert we tried (like a chocolate torte with raspberry filling) was outstanding. read more

If I could give it zero stars I would. We took a taxi across town specifically to come to this place and were extremely disappointed, so much so we ended up leaving after finally getting a table. As soon as me and my parents walked into this place we felt awkward and unwelcome. There was little space to stand inside and we stood for a bit in the middle of the restaurant waiting for someone to help us. After standing a while, a party left their table and we went to sit down to get out of the way. We were then approached but a tall lanky waiter who barked at us to not sit until he cleared and cleaned the table. We obliged to his request as we were hungry and desperate to get out of the spotlight of attention. When we finally sat down we looked over the menu for a few minutes and the lanky waiter came back to ask us about drinks. They didn't give us a drink menu. I asked if they had wines by the glass to which the waiter responded confused and threw up his hands saying of course they have wine but didn't divulge into what or how many. We ordered water and my dad asked for a glass of red wine. The waiter came back and asked us about food. My mom is gluten free and nothing looked too good for her in their menu for a late night meal. She wanted something lighter and cheese/fried food wasn't doing it for her. She decided she wanted dessert instead since she wasn't that hungry for anything else. She ordered dessert first and the waiter got offended and said to us "this isn't a dessert restaurant, you can't take this table for only that". We took his abuse and corrected him saying that I would order more food. First I ordered one croquette to which he responded "One?" and I corrected that to two and he was happy. I was going to order another appetizer, entre, and dessert along with wine but at that point my Mom intervened and told him off for being rude. We paid for the wine and left this establishment, it was a very frustrating experience. Only come here if you are looking to be insulted by the waiters and belittled as a patron. Can't review the food since we didn't get to that part. read more

My husband and I were fortunate to dine here on our overnight trip to Cadiz. Sat at the bar after a short wait and had a wonderful time and a delicious meal! I had the goat cheese salad which was absolutely delicious-- so much so, that I'm trying to figure out how to recreate it at home. My husband tried and loved the pork cheeks. We had lots of yummy wine and good conversation with other travelers at the bar and surrounding table. Best part of our trip to Cadiz! read more

One of the best restaurants I visited in Andalusia. This place offers modern tapas with Spain Asian fusion. Price: average (5-10 Euro/Tapa) Food: We shared 3 dishes for 2 people Chicken Couscous - awesome. I don't usually like couscous as it generally has no taste, but in La Candela they season the couscous well . Roasted Octopus - another winner Duck Ravioli - the meat melts in your mouth. It was more like duck dumpling and was very tasty read more

I visited La Candela for the first time in July 2017 on a day trip from Portugal. It was so good that we planned our summer trip this July to be in Cadiz for a full two weeks. The center of that trip would be to return here . We were not disappointed by our choice. The restaurant was just as great this time as it was before, and we brought more family with us who all agreed with how awesome the food was. I won't really review the food specifically because the menu changes all the time, but everything will always be fresh (get the ceviche if they have it ), well priced and amazingly delicious. The warm cozy environment of the small restaurant and the friendly demeanour of the staff will make you feel right at home every time you come. read more

5 stars isn't enough. Excellent service and amazing food. A fusion of Asian and Spanish that works brilliantly.

Great find when we wanted a change of pace in Cadiz! Interesting menu. Large portions! Only minor complaint is that my mom's crab sandwich had lots of parts of the crab that were hard to eat/digest so she picked at it a little. Perhaps that is how they serve the crab here and we just didn't know. Overall, I would recommend and I'd eat there again in Cadiz! read more

Lives up to the hype!!! Food is fantastic. Best I've experienced in several weeks of dining in Spain and trying to find good food. Atmosphere is cozy and charming. Very busy when I visited, but staff was friendly and efficient. Duck ravioli was AMAZING as was calamari taco. I've been disappointed in seafood here in general (I live on coast and get fresh seafood), but here it is VERY good! Eat here- you will enjoy!! read more

This was such an amazing find when visiting Cadiz. The best meal I have had in quite some time - the salmon tartar and octopus were the most surprising and memorable dishes I've tasted in years. The flavors are so layered and complex. The check was even more of a surprise - coming from NYC, I would have paid triple what we paid for this outstanding meal, atmosphere, service and experience. Thank you! read more
