Most recently, I came back for a series of 6 sessions of therapy recommended by the doctors. I started out with seeing Carmen for the first two sessions before she went on vacation. Then I met with Dalet briefly after Carmen left. Dalet went over all the details again and thoroughly explained the process. She was very professional and pleasant. Then Lena took over for the rest of the times. Lena was very helpful, detail-oriented, and kind. She was also very meticulous and made sure I had everything I needed at each visit. She prepared the room neatly and made it cozy before I came, with all my favorites (TV channel, beverage, blanket, etc.). Thank you Lena for being so caring. You're awesome! I appreciate it and enjoy the amazing service at Laguna Dermatology. It's a beautiful and super clean office.

My condition progressively worsened to the point where I was covered in severely itchy plagues head to toe, with my scalp giving me the most misery. I recently saw another dermatologist who diagnosed me with another condition. He recommended I switch to a PPO for my medication. I managed to switch my insurance within a few days. However he wasn't able to see me again until the end of January, despite me expressing to the front office I was doing pretty badly. So I found Dr. O on Yelp and called his office. I explained to them my situation and amazingly they squeezed me in the same day. Dr. O even reviewed my labs the same night I sent it and cleared me for my meds, then gave me a sample. His and his office's level of compassion and care really saved me! Looking forward to my follow up appointment and hopefully the road to recovery.

It's been several years since I finished my laser hair removal treatments there and my results are holding pretty well. I had literally no hair growing back on my shoulder and back. I added more areas since then and all worked amazingly well. I also did 2 more rounds of Sculpsure for body sculpting and stubborn fat reduction in belly and flanks. As a background, I am pretty fit and just needed some additional toning and the Sculpsure was a perfect touch and greatly helped. I have continued with the scalp treatment for male pattern hair loss prevention and treatment. I am alternating PRP with hair growth stem cell factor to maximize my results and I can confidently say that the treatment was effective in stopping the thinning and stimulating some hair regrowth. As for new treatments, I started doing Botox for my frown lines and lines on forehead at Amoderm around 2 years ago and have done it 3-4 times so far. The results typically last a good 3-5 months for me and I appreciate how I am still able to have full facial expression with natural look and avoid looking frozen while having the lines and wrinkles erased. I was looking for a new dermatologist and it was really important to me to find a Latina female…read moredoctor. I'm so glad I found Dr. Romero. From the first appointment, she took her time addressing all of my skin concerns and carefully looked at several moles I was worried about. She answered every question with calmness and clarity and never made me feel rushed. Her staff is also very thoughtful and caring and you can tell they genuinely care about their patients. I've since brought my toddler in to have a birthmark evaluated and will be switching my husband over to her as well. She recently removed a suspicious mole for me and the entire procedure was smooth. She helped keep me at ease through what can be a nerve racking situation. Moles can present differently on darker skin tones, so it's important to have a dermatologist who understands how to evaluate different skin types. I'm very grateful to have found Dr. Romero and highly recommend her for her professionalism and care.

I have always found the practitioners to be very good at what they do and I've gotten good care from them. Kendra was my favorite. Their office and desk staff is a whole nuther story. 80% of the desk staff have been absolutely awful. Extremely rude and condescending. Some will go out of their way to spread their misery to others. I don't know why people this rude and unhappy, who seem to despise their jobs, would stay in a position where they have to interact with patients and customers every day. I also don't understand why Dr. Guide or whoever is in charge here would allow this behavior to continue consistently for years. Again, I said 80%, because they do have a couple people who are very nice, helpful and seem to care about their jobs. Also, the wait times are ridiculous. Out of all the appointments I've had there, not even one was remotely on time. You don't wait long in the reception area. They come get you and place you in an exam room. And then, nothing. It's not uncommon to sit there for 45 minutes to an hour before the doctor even walks in. Never an explanation or apology. Just SOP. Something is clearly wrong with scheduling or management. Patients have lives too. I really liked seeing Kendra, and stuck around because of her, but now that she is leaving this practice, I plan on looking elsewhere.
