We stopped by motorbus and were able to walk at our own pace, ask questions of Kathy, the home owners and the other attendees. From xeric landscaping to a shady garden, we were able to learn and understand more about the diversity of plants that can thrive n the valley. Special lavender laced desserts were offered at more than one stop as well as refreshing lemonades. The tour ended at the Wine Country Inn where a luncheon was served with accompanying lavender wine. The festival also had a day trip to multiple lavender farms with hands on activities at each stop. A pleasant way to spend a summer day.

While I'm not a tried and true country girl, I know good country. That said, not so impressed with Country Jam. Free tickets, parking passes and a great airbnb didn't even change this review. Thanks, KYGO, for the four day passes, but after an afternoon and evening filled with good country music (good stuff first) but way too much: sand storms, dust, very narrow drink options (No wine..... really? Only Budweiser products? Aren't we in Colorado?), and not nearly enough vendors to keep a chica busy during the day - listen, we were in the middle of nowhere - captive audience and alcohol... this is a BIG missed opportunity. That said, maybe I'm glad there weren't more options, lol. Overall... big disappointment. If I win some tickets to Country Jam 2018, I think I'll sell them.

Colorado…read morewineries are definitely making strides to make better wines, but unfortunately I feel too many of them try to charge more because they're Colorado wines and you can find much better wines at the same or cheaper prices from other parts of the world. Having said that, this event is a blast. There is a guest chef dinner with Colorado wine pairings, a party in the park where most Colorado wineries are serving their wines. (please use a cooler for the wines people) You can taste everything from peach wine to riesling to cab sauvignon. Some wineries are using grapes from elsewhere while others are using grapes grown primarily on the Western slope whereas others still are using grapes grown in the city of Denver. You have the opportunity to taste a LOT of wine, so make sure to have a DD or a person sobering up over lunch if you'll be there all day. Ironically, a lot of the wines we tasted later in the day were very good compared to the morning's tastings? Coincidence, palate fatigue, or plain-out drunkedness?

It's geared towards Jeep lovers, Jeep owners and thrill seekers alike! While many bring their own super tricked out Jeeps which are incredible to see, each one crazier than the next, you can rent one for about $250-$300 a day and participate in the off-roading even if you're not an owner. Registration begins months before the actual event. (See link I posted in listing) I would highly suggest booking your accommodations then too as it's one of the busiest times for the town. My gypsy soul gals and I who stumbled upon this all by a very happy accident were perfectly content with a last minute rad camping spot right next to the rushing Colorado River. Don't fret if you want to head out and participate and don't have accommodations...well, as long as you're the nature loving hippe type, because there's always camping spots available! Pretty scenic ones at that. Our site was a party atmosphere into the wee hours and a whole lot of fun! The off-roading courses are rated 1-5 based on how extreme the particular trail is. You choose the level you feel comfortable with and can change it daily. You won't believe what these Jeeps and Jeep owners can and will do! It's mind-blowing! This event is definitely not for the faint of heart. And I don't even mean just participating...watching is absolutely nerve wracking! Head onto Instagram and hashtag #easterjeepsafari for some crazy videos! Jeeps line up through the main highways in town early in the morning and caravan to their trailhead with other Jeeps. Each group is led by a professional. You do not need to know what your are doing to ride, but you absolutely need to follow directions. It can get pretty scary and super dangerous out there! Lots of flipping. The entire town is buzzing during this event. Everyone is out greeting one another, gearing up, grabbing food and firewood. It's all really, super cool! Like a secret club of some sort. Moab with its vast rugged terrain is THEE perfect place for such an event! It's so bada**! Cruising over red rocks with snow capped mountain in the background. It's so darn picturesque. Perfect weather in Moab this time of year and it is really such an awesome place, unlike too many others. Highly recommend for any adrenaline junkies out there! It seems like a bucket-list kind of thing. I will personally definitely be back! No doubt! Easy to make a whole adventurous trip by hitting up the "Utah Five" (National Parks) afterwards. Awesome times!

It was a hodge podge of confusing music, like monster movie type. When we arrived we were treated rudely by a man named Andrew in a straw hat. We came early around 4:30pm to eat our lunch by the river. It was like 500 yards away from the stage. This man would not let us bring our picnic in. It is not worth paying $30.dollars to go to these music venues when they have arrogant and smug people running these festivals. It is better to go on a River Rafting trip and have lunch with the River boat people. They had down to earth attitudes and were extremely intelligent. We really enjoyed this part of Moab.
