I had a salad to start, which was beautiful to look at and to eat: sautéed pears on slightly herbal greens, with pecans and blue cheese. Our friends had a salmon tatar and my husband a pasta dish. Main course was also great - I had a beautiful plate of 3 grilled scallops, 4 grilled shrimp and a few gorgeous tortellini. I think my husband had lamb, which looked great. I didn't pay too much attention to what our friends ate, since I was so occupied by my plate, and so surprised to actually be eating food of that level in Sachsenhausen! Kids had a modified pasta dish and a steak. Our 4 adults ate three courses (with just one main course for each of two kids), each had an aperitif, split one bottle of wine (or was it two???), and had coffee for about 300 euros. I'd also say Sorriso was a place you can take business guests, or host a family event. We'll be adding this to our list of regular go-to restaurants. For people in the neighborhood: We were huge supporters of Paulo's - a restaurant previously at this location, but found that the succeeding restaurants really did not fit our style. The quality of the food at Sorriso now surpasses all restaurants there in the past 10 years, and is probably better than most restaurants now in Sachsenhasen.

probably the rudest staff i've ever met in my life and the most disgusting food…read more before sitting down at the restaurant i asked a younger short white man specifically what their version of vegetarian chili cheese fries were.... they were not at all what was described and "vegetarian chili fries" were overcooked/burned fries with ice cold cheese on them and only 3 jalapeños slices and 3 red pepper slices (the chili part of the fries...) after eating 2 fries i asked my server if it was okay to return them as they were not as described and she said yes and took them from the table. when the bill came they refused to remove the fries that i didn't eat and that they had thrown away. the manager a younger tall white guy and the server an older east indian woman both started being extremely rude to me. they both refused to give me their names or rectify the situation. the manager then proceeded to say the reason the fries were not what was expected was due to me being drunk... (i am not drunk let alone tipsy, if i was i probably would have ate the nasty fries. i only had one drink with my food and it was less than a 1 shot of alcohol!!! ). the manager then proceeded to tell me that "my mind is wrong" and continued to raise his voice at me while not allowing me to say a word continuing to berate me with insults. i did not raise my voice and was in no way rude and was super apologetic from the very beginning when i had first asked if i could send the fries back and they had said yes. on top of the terrible service and the horrible cold disgusting food, being yelled at and insulted repeatedly was top notch service. if there were zero stars i would give it to them. personally i hope no one ever makes them feel as embarrassed or as little as they made me feel. there is no need to be rude to someone or mock them or to be condescending or to raise your voice and make someone cry! shame on all of you!

The biggest problem with this place is the service is PAINFULLY slow. It was so slow, that I'm pretty sure a woman skipped on her bill after waiting too long. Expect to spend a long time here even if you're just coming for after dinner drinks.
