Unfortunately Rhonda talks a good game but when it comes down to providing the services her company has been paid for- she does not deliver. Do not fall For their prepaid scam- they will take your money and refuse to clean unless you give them more money. I will be writing to their corporate office and filing with BBB of Barnstable for my money back . Also make sure you receive your contract for your cleanings- they never sent it to me despite my email requests. Stay far away from this company. Even when they did come i sent a cleaning checklist which never got to the cleaner and had to have my friends come back and finish the job! Beyond disappointing! First time came out and left cleaning residue all over the stove top. Made more of a mess wiping surfaces leaving behind residue. Didn't even mop kitchen and bathroom. Didn't make up beds. Didn't even vacuum under furniture...the list goes on. Called back with my obvious complaints. Sent another crew out to clean their mess and still charged me AGAIN! Should have done it myself. I would not recommend. Unreliable. Especially if you need a one time cleaning service. Pathetic. My fault for putting my trust in these people...lesson learned read more

They left dirt in all the corners, grime on the floors, dishes in the dishwasher but they didn't even bother to turn it on, filth under the beds. If I could leave no stars I would! I hired merry maids to do my turns over on my rental property this summer because of Covid I wanted to ensure a professional company would use the right products and techniques to clean and sanitize my rental home. I have been doing the cleaning with my parents the last 5 years so I know how long it take to clean this house and what should be done for a turn over. My house is 4 floors, with 3 bathrooms, 5 bedrooms and 2 full kitchens. It take my parents and I 6 hours to clean the house. Merry Maids sent two cleaners and they would be done in 2hours sometimes an hour and half. I have a door bell camera so I know when someone enters and leaves so I could see how long they were there for. I made their jobs easy by putting all the linens in each room and removed all of the used linen each week so they could focus on "cleaning". Well each week I would come back after they leave and find that the floors were never mopped, they didn't even lift the entry way mat to sweep or vacuum, they never put dishes away from the counter or the dishwasher, there was hair in the bathtub, toothpaste in the sink, food stains on the kitchen cabinets, food in the drain stopper in the sink. The refrigerator dirty on the inside. Certain beds not made because they didn't want to go to the loft. The first week I called and asked them if certain task such as mopping or putting dishes away were not part of my contract, they ensured me that their cleaners were suppose to do all of the tasks I asked about and more. I complained every week after that and honestly it only got worse! I was suppose to have 6 cleanings with Merry Maids and I had to fire them after the 4th cleaning. A cleaning company should take cleaning serious especially in a pandemic!!! The owner Rhonda never called me to apologize, she honestly didn't take me seriously even after I sent pictures. I requested a partial refund for the 4 cleanings and the remaining cleanings and she only refunded me for one cleaning. I had to clean each week after they left so my tenants wouldn't come into a house that was dirty! No one wants to rent a house and put dishes away the minute their vacation starts or find the house as dirty as they would leave it. I honestly don't even know what they cleaned each week. Pretty much the worst cleaning we've ever had. Way overpriced, which they later admitted to, and we had to go back to them after the "cleaning" and let them know how many areas had NOT been cleaned. Scheduling was an issue, the maids never showed up and we moved to the next day. The company seems very disorganized. We will never use this service again. read more

While I had issues with my initial cleaning, these folks were quick and determined to rectify the problems. They sent in another team and my house was glistening. I understand that everyone's idea of "clean" can be different, and it's not easy to get great people for these jobs, but the person they sent to make it right was wonderful. You could tell she takes tremendous pride in her work and it shows. The people at Merry Maids were easy to deal with and I have booked them now as my regular cleaners because I know if there is in fact a problem, they want to satisfy you. stay away from this company- initially they were good, but now they don't lock doors when they leave, don't have someone check the location after it has been cleaned (as they claim they do) and often don't show up. They used to leave a checklist on the counter for the next person in to fill out- that stopped when people started calling and reporting things that weren't complete. On one occasion we found the door had been left wide open for 3 weeks and the response was- really? They refuse to make good on poor cleanings and don't return calls until the monday after the renter has moved in on saturday. bad attitude. we have had renters clean when they arrive and we have to give them a credit. defeats the purpose. Again- they have lost their quality control and denial is the best response they can give. Their new policy doesn't give credit for poor cleanings. The employee who answers the phone has always tried to respond correctly only to be stopped by the owner. This employee should go someplace else and work for someone who understands the importance of customer service. read more

I hired this company to clean 2 floors in my house. I included a list of priorities (which they ask for). My appointment was set for 11:30am with an hour window for any extra time the team might spend at the previous house plus travel time - this was set by Rhonda the owner. The day came and I called at 12:30pm to make sure someone was still coming. Desiree who was answering the phone that day told me she wasnt sure why Rhonda would give me that time as it was not available. I informed her I had already been waiting an hour and scheduling mishaps like this one were unacceptable. She told me she would call me back so she can see if there is anyone else available to come clean my house. When she called back, she gave me a 5 minute speech about how much it would cost me to cancel my appointment - they would basically charge me the full amount of hours reserved for me. I told her I wasn't sure why she was talking about cancellation because I did not mention that AT ALL and I was just waiting to see if she could find anyone else. She basically did not apologize for the mistake in scheduling, she continued to talk about my cancellation fee if I cancelled, and she never informed me whether anyone else was available so I just cut that conversation short. The team did not realize what my priorities were and only spent 1 hour (out of 3) in the area that was a priority. One of the cleaners was also picking up her personal phone and speaking very loudly while I was working in the area. Lastly, I had to call them back inside while they were packing up their equipment because i realized they had not wiped any of the surfaces in the room that was a priority. They had worked in this house before so I was really hoping this would be a good experience. Also, the 1st cleaning is always much more expensive, so we were charged $255 for the initial 3 hours of cleaning and most of our surfaces were not touched in the priority area. Be careful when you use this company! On July 25th, 2 Merry Maid employees from the Marston Mills office came to my home to clean. Merry Maids have cleaned here before. They usually clean for three hours. This time they cleaned for 2. The cleaners were scheduled to arrive between 10:00 AM and 11:00 AM. I contacted Merry Maids at 11:55 AM as they had not yet arrived. I was told they were running late as traffic was heavy. They pulled up my driveway at 12:01PM and came directly into the house to clean. At 1:55 PM they loaded all the cleaning supplies into the car to leave. When they left, I contacted Merry Maids at approximately 2:05PM to let them know that their cleaners only stayed two hours. I should not have to pay for time that was not used. I never signed any slip or even received a bill and they do not have a 3 hour minimum. I just give them an updated credit card number over the phone, and it seems they can charge any amount such as this even though I complained to the cleaner in the house and called Merry Maids immediately. Had I had any clue that I would have been charged for the hour not worked, I would have found extra tasks for them to fill out the hour. It is a total waste to pay for services not rendered, and very unprofessional for a company to keep money for services not rendered. My mistake is giving my credit card number before the job was completed. There was no written contract with Merry Maids and I think they must be a bit coniving or dishonest. read more

VERY DISAPPOINTING!!! Hired Merry Maids to clean my entire house - the Fall Cleaning package. We have a hugh house and when I returned a few hours later they were already gone. NOTHING WAS DONE! This supposed cleaning was costing me $4500.00. I immediately called the company - no answer. The next morning Desiree called me and said she would come by and check it out. She agreed and called the cleaning crew back - 3 of the 4 women showed up. Desiree promised that the house would be fully cleaned that day. They stayed most of the day but there were still many things not even touched. We recently had work done in the house so things definitely needed dusting/cleaned. Windows were not done, light fixtures were not done etc. The Fall Cleaning package includes moving furniture and cleaning behind - NONE OF THAT WAS DONE! I again called Desiree and she informed me that they would not be able to come back for several weeks. I hired someone else to come in as we were having a Christmas party and couldn't wait for them to come back especially when they didn't do a good job the first 2 times. You hire professionals and pay them and the whole experience was one big headache. Desiree came several weeks before the cleaning and we went through the house thoroughly and what she PROMISED what would be done. My advice is STAY AWAY FROM MERRY MAIDS.
