Finding a suitable match for long-term care was challenging for our family. Luckily, we found Aegis Living on Market Street in Ballard as a residence and care facility. Aegis Living is not only top-notch in every aspect of senior care but also gives complete reassurance to our family that all of her needs and medications are being met with the utmost professionalism. The residence is very clean and the dining room offers excellent cuisine with daily specials. Everyday there are activities, exercise sessions, and programs designed to get my mom out of her room and involve herself with the other residents. Entertainers are regularly invited to perform on the grand piano in lobby and there'll even be a concert there in a few weeks for New Year's Eve. Although there are still times that my mom has the blues, our family can rest assured that she is has a group of new friends, gets three delicious hot meals a day, receives all her required medication in a timely manner, and most importantly, - she is safe and sound. As a family, we are very fortunate to have found Aegis Living in Ballard. Thank you to Paul and Michelle and the entire team there!

Restaurant is in fieldstone community but is fully public as is the cocktail lounge in the third floor. Terrific views of sound and seattle. Friendly staff who proudly accept no tips! I had the cheeseburger and fries for lunch which was delicious. Not crowded at all as initially an article was published suggesting it was private. A great find for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Open only until 7pm. Patio is the best seating in my opinion. Enjoy!! Tip: if you enter through upper main entry it's a maze through the facility/ elevators to get to restaurant. I suggest from the rlectric vehicle stations to go down the stairs to the courtyard, in the door at the corner, turn left and follow the hallway all the way to the end, the restaurant entry is around the corner to the left. If you're walking in this beautiful neighborhood you could approach from the south up onto the deck through the tree lined lawn definitely worth the adventure to find the sweet gem. My Aunt has been at Aegis Living Greenwood for three years. The experience has not been positive…read more The major problem is that Aegis is a for profit enterprise run by an owner who wants to maximize his profits. This is done at the expense of senior residents and their families who feel trapped. When our aunt entered the facility her monthly invoice was about $8,000. Due to inflation and a "care point" system imposed by Aegis, her current invoice is now over $14,000 per month. Yes, there has been a gradual decline in my aunt's physical and mental abilities, but nothing so acute as to warrant a 75% increase in the cost of her care within three years. Rather, it feels like Aegis has devised a way to legally extort ever greater sums out of its vulnerable senior residents and their families. Within the fine print of the contract she signed there is a "care points" system which is supposed to relate to additional services that may be provided. Aegis has the UNILATERAL power to impose these services and charges on the resident. Just this past month, Aegis Greenwood said it installed a new software to calculate care points, and by virtue of this new system even more points were added DESPITE no additional services being provided. Additionally, the Aegis assessments are incredibly vague in describing which specific services are being provided to justify the additional points being charged. When one contacts Aegis for an explanation of the charges, they deflect giving an answer and instead request a face to face meeting, so that they can have the element of surprise and create intimidation by bringing in several employees. They refuse to put anything in writing. I feel that Aegis has entrapped and is financially abusing my aunt and likely many other vulnerable seniors for whom changes, like moving their residence, is a very difficult matter. One report filed with the State says, "He did not recall signing anything recently regarding an increase in care points. He was paying 10-11K per month when his mother moved into assisted living and now pays between $18-19K per month [three years later]." Sounds familiar. Even with all of this going on, it is unlikely I will move my aunt as she has settled into the place and moving her would be a true hardship on her at this stage of her life. I am managing her finances so only I have to deal with the disgusting behavior of Aegis management.

My mother is 92 years old and was looking for a place to stay that could meet her needs now and as she ages further. She loved the apartment and the meal plan options, as well as the ability to meet others with so many planned activities. She also has a dog and is happy to be able to have her move with her. Billy and Andrea did a great job with a tour of the facility and carefully going over the contract agreements. Andrea was great relating directly with my mother to ensure she understood everything. Billy took extreme care to ensure my mother's needs were met and covered in every way. The welcoming was wonderful! We really appreciate the personal care both took in addressing my mother's needs and the concerns of her family.

My Mom was in the assisted living building and I was constantly amazed at the level of care she received. Everyone was extra helpful and went out of their way to make sure she felt special. The "care team" members including house keeping established friendships with her and treated her as if she were their own mother. I can't remember all their names but I do remember Natasha and her sister (who was Natasha's supervisor) and Amena. Marnie Walker the Sales Manager was the one who helped us make the decision to choose Cogir Queen Anne and we never had cause to regret it. I'm not sure how the management has been able to assemble such a caring and positive staff. Everyone we dealt with (and I mean literally everyone from the front desk to the kitchen workers) was upbeat, happy and seemed to genuinely like their job. I compliment Ken Klotz Executive Director for cultivating such an inviting climate. Maria Crespo the Business Office Manager was always ready with a cheerful and caring attitude to help with not just financial issues but with anything else needed. Ernie Vigil the Health and Wellness Director manages always to make time for an informal chat and was a real blessing in answering any questions we might have and taking a personal interest in Mom's well being. Mom loved the food and the warm, cheerful atmosphere in the lobby. You can see why I give Cogir Queen Anne five stars and "two thumbs up" Mike Carrigan
