I met Kerrin, as a taxi driver in 2023, he is very friendly, kind and very responsible, arrives on time. He helped me in 2024 and recently, I recommend him to everyone, it's a great service. Nadia read more

Me and my family have used this company for years to take us to and from the train station when we need it. If I have a train to catch, I always make sure I call 40 minutes before. They usually arrive in about 20-25 minutes, and I make it just in time. They are reliable in a pinch. There have been times where they've been excessively busy, and unable to provide service due to lack of drivers. In that case, I would suggest contacting All Island Transportation as a back up. I have never had any problems with this cab service. Sometimes they do bunk you with one or two other people, but I don't see it as an issue, as long as I catch my train. read more

I have used this taxi service several times now but will not use them again. The cars are very dirty (don't wear light colors clothes) they also smell of smoke. One of the guys that answer the phone is very abrupt and rude, they should be struck off ! They also charged me $8 for a one mile journey. read more

Recently used this taxi service so my friends and I didn't have to drive to a beer fest event. I called midday on a Saturday and the phone rang a good 10 times and just as I was about to hang up a very bitter, angry sounding guy answered the phone. What an abrupt and rude piece of shit! It was almost as if he was angry that the company he worked for was getting business and HAD to do work. What an attitude! I was convinced that since he didn't ask me for my name or phone number that the taxi would never show up, but at 4:45 on the dot (which is what time I placed the reservation for), the taxi came. The cab itself was vile, but whatever I wasn't expecting luxury. The only reason I am not giving this company 1 star is because the driver was actually an awesome man and was funny and nice and we all thoroughly enjoyed him! read more

I called and asked for a taxi to the airport for the following morning. He said he didn't think he'd have anyone for the time I needed, and while I replied mid-sentence, "Okay, is there another service you'd recommend or--" he hung up on me. read more

Merrick Taxi is probably one of the worst services in LongIsland. It's part of All Island Taxi. Drivers are rude...:show up late and some even smoke inside the car....against company regulations. Dispatchers on duty feel that they are doing you a favor....when u call them. Money hunger and service is unsatisfactory. Hope that these fellas go out of biz soon. read more

Needed airport ride in one of the blizzards of 2015. Lenny was so nice and helpful, called the morning of ride to confirm time and arrived a few minutes early. As LaGuardia closed and flight was cancelled, Lenny came back to airport in snow and traffic to drive back to Merrick. highly recommend Merrick Taxi read more

aka Long Island Checker Cab of Merrick. This is hands down the WORST cab company I've ever encountered in any city, state or even country! They routinely take 25 minutes to pick you up. You have to share cabs with other random people who may be dropped off before you thus delaying your trip more. Heaven help you if you're in a hurry. If you take a cab from the train station they wait and try to fill the cab with people before leaving. The phone operator is a whiny, incompetent wench and you have to repeat everything 5 times before she comprehends it as if you're speaking some alien language. Why would you hire someone who clearly has no phone skills to answer a phone???? The taxi dispatcher is a lazy asshole who likes to pick fights with people and call them names. Gee, how silly of me to call back to check on the status of my cab after waiting around for 30 minutes with no sign of a cab. Why on earth would I want to know how much longer of a wait I'd be in for when I'm trying to get to the airport or to a meeting? I'm obviously taking a cab because I'm in a hurry. The cab drivers don't know where they're going and have to stop often to look at maps (no, they don't have GPS systems). Dude, Merrick isn't that big. If you don't know the streets in your town and work as a cab driver then you should be fired. Moreover the drivers argue with the passengers. I told one of my drivers that I was in a hurry because I had to catch a LIRR train at a certain time and he was like "oh you have tons of time that train doesn't leave until x time." I was like "no it leaves at THIS time, I'm looking at the schedule right now in the cab as we speak from my iPhone." He continued to argue with me, stopped to pick up another passenger and got me to the train station as I watched my train leaving thus forcing me to wait 30 minutes for the next train and miss a meeting. The workers at this cab company make DMV workers & postal workers look like pinnacles of excellent customer service. The taxi authority should do the world a favor and shut this business down. read more

Worst cab service ever! Better off calling from another town for cab services. I called 30 minutes prior to my train departure on two separate occasions and both times they failed to get to my house and to the train station. I live less than 10 minutes away. Awful service. Will never use again...Dawsons in baldwin is 110% better! read more

I took a taxi from the Merrick train station to the Merrick/Freeport border and had a horrible experience. I was told the ride (this time) would be $5, they love changing the price! $5, $10, $12, you name it! When you walk into the dispatchers office there is some dude sitting there and the whole place smells like weed and cigarettes. Last time I was there he was playing guitar and I was hit with a whiff of smoke as soon as I opened the door. When I got a driver who didn't know where Meadowbrook Road was (how???) we went ass-backwards around Merrick. We were on Sunrise Hwy, Babylon Tpke, Bedford, Smith, I don't even know why I didn't say something. Then when we got to the Meadowbrook Pkwy he said "If i cross the bridge im charging $5 extra" so I said just let me out here, here is $5. Then he pulled onto the Meadowbrook and I was ready to call 911. He called dispatcher and said "the kid doesnt wanna pay $5 extra to leave merrick, im bringing him back" so the dispatcher said "Bring the stupid kid back here and let him find a ride from someone else, i don't give a shit" (keep in mind it was on speaker, i could hear him) so I said "LET ME OUT NOW! I DONT CARE WE ARE ON A HIGHWAY!" So he pulled off at Babylon Tpke and let me out, taking my $5. I am still considering taking action on this case as I can argue I was held hostage when he pulled onto the highway not letting me out. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. CALL AN UBER, EVEN CALL CARMEL BUT DO NOT USE MERRICK TAXI. read more
