We had an appointment with John last week. After discussion and measuring we set up an appointment for yesterday. No John and no phone call! I called them after waiting an hour. The girl on the phone was rude and arrogant and stated that someone would call me back. No phone call. I would rate them zero if I could!!! Will use a company I can count on! read more

We ordered a stair runner in November of 2021. The store clerk advised us that the order would take approximately 6 weeks. The installer came to our house and measured the first week of December. We did not hear from Merit at all so we called in January to find that the installer, John, had forgotten to place the order. We began the order process again, made a deposit and received a copy of the order. We checked again about the status of the order. John was out of town and the store clerk did not have a complete record of our order. No progress has been made. When we call the store we can only leave messages with their answering service. We want to give local businesses our patronage and avoid big box stores, but we may have to give up on this store. read more

One of my rugs came in with the backing detached so they had to reorder/resend it. I received 2 Masland rugs for which I paid $3000. About 2 months after they were installed they started to pull away from the backing and fray. I contacted them and they sent someone out but never resolved the issue. Nice people with whom to deal but not if you have any problems! Going forward, I will order from Lowes, save a lot of money and avoid dissatisfaction for paying so much for what I got. read more

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH MERIT!!! I contacted this company on June 3 and spoke with Kaitlyn. I told her what I wanted to renovate in prep to turn one of my homes into a rental property and the time frame I was working with. Her and Travis (contractor) came out to my home 2 days later and did measurements and said I would receive a quote in the next couple of days. Fast forward...I receive the quote on 6/18 with apologies. We communicated on a weekly basis and I continued to request a scheduled date to start the project. I came to the store on 7/8 (by the way I live 8hrs away) to speak with someone in person. Kaitlyn asked more questions and I picked out countertops. A day later, she emailed me stating "We certainly can do the project...". On Wednesday, 7/10, I receive a generic sketch and when I called asking why the sketch did not illustrate all that we had been discussing she {Kaitlyn} said she would call the designer (Emily) and call me back. Needless to say, I need received that call BUT I did receive an email stating "To be honest this project has shifted outside our typical scope of project". This is beyond unprofessional and quite disrespectful. This company wasted over a month of my time and did not have the decency to call and indicate that they were not qualified to do the project at any time. I wish I would have been warned!!! read more

This business will not back their product or installation i.e., they will not correct problem with hardwood flooring they installed. We have called ~six times & they state they will get back with us to schedule & never call back nor come out to correct our concern. I would not recommend them for installation or service as they have proven to be incompetent with no customer service. read more

like many people in Aiken we came from elsewhere, also like us these many people now in Aiken in prior lives have had the good fortune to have taken up and put down acres of rug, hardwood floors and miles of countertops and new cabinets. arriving here in later July 2020 in the midst of an uncertain world when we asked longer time residents where to go for our rug, flooring and kitchen design needs, to the last one they recommended Merit Flooring. we did not have the hardest jobs to do in the history of the world at our new home not at all it just that these new floors, the rugs, the design ideas for the various room had to be done in sympathy and close to what was already thereto help set our vision for this lasted stop in our lives. as you can see it was all darned important to us. old floorings needed to be matched as close as humanly possible, well built cabinets and irreplaceable trim and detail work needed to be protected and matched to close up scrutiny. from our initial meeting with John, to meeting and getting locked in with Emily and Samantha we were in good shape, meeting planned, proposals were well worth the time and conversation, our deadlines were and continue to be met. as my wife mentioned to me last night in the 45yrs we have been doing this stuff this time it seems effortless on our end. lastly in todays world of text messages, automated callbacks and formula worded email if you need a person at Merit and they are all busy or out on calls you will get Monica on the phone. do not worry your messages will get delivered, the call backs will happen, payments can be taken care of, you are not alone in the midst of the tornado of a home renovation read more
