"Merewether Golf Course is set among eucalyptus tree-lined tight fairways with strategic bunkers and formidable water hazards. This challenging 18-hole layout has a wonderful variety of golf holes with excellent year-round conditioning." This is how the club describes the course. I would add that those fairways are really tight and there is almost nowhere that is a simple flat piece of ground. This makes for a tough course that is very rewarding when you play well. Off the championship tees, there is no other course in the Newcastle area with a higher slope rating. If you want to challenge your golf game, then this course comes highly recommended. read more
