I was recently asked to become the executor of my neighbor's estate. Her existing estate executor developed dementia, so she felt the need to change her executor to my wife and I.
Mr. Meredith drafted the will and estate documents for my neighbor in 2012. I reached out to Mr. Meredith on October 27th, 2018 to establish a line of communication to indicate the updated wishes of my neighbor (she is 83 years young, and a three time cancer survivor).
We were able to setup a call for November 2nd at 3PM; however, we never received a call at this time. After e-mailing Mr. Meredith and his assistant, we finally received the call around 4:10-15PM to confirm my neighbor's request was valid.
I have sent two follow-up e-mails, and placed a phone call since the November 2nd discussion to get an ETA on seeing a draft of the new documents. It is now November 29th, and we have not received any documents from Mr. Meredith. Literally, a change that would take about 10 minutes of using "Find - Replace" in the word document was not a priority for Mr. Meredith or his staff for a returning client.
I've since decided to enlist the services of another estate planning attorney. Thankfully, said attorney found an oversight in the will produced by Mr. Meredith (the will never named a Trustee of her estate).
Highly disappointing. I would not personally recommend Meredith, PC based upon this experience. read more
