KHMC truly follows the philosophy of Maria Montessori and encourages children to talk through their conflicts and share the "peace rose," for example, rather than forcing an insincere apology, which preschoolers aren't developmentally ready for. The focus on letting kids have some autonomy also really fires up their curiosity about learning. I can't imagine a better start for my kids in their educational journey.

One Black male teacher was there for only a short time. He resigned due to the way the staff reacted to the black male children when they were not acting "perfect". The front office staff is extremely rude, with exception to those they "really" like. There is a noticeable difference in the communication/treatment toward those that receive county funding (vouchers). It is really disheartening that as an organization, there is a vast difference based on paying status. It should be about the children, giving them the foundation. Not on how the funds are being received by the parents.

The priceless education and character formation offered at GSCM provides my children with an incredible foundation as both students and people moving forward in this world. The teachers at GSCM work to offer individualized experiences for each student, meeting the child where he or she is at, and working with his or her interests to make learning exciting. Students experience cultural enrichment, as well as a deep understanding and love for the Catholic faith. Outdoor exploration, and a keen sense of a child's need for adventure in the natural world are just some of the key components that GSCM offers to those who attend. We could not be more pleased with Good Shepherd Catholic Montessori, not only as a school, but more like a second home for our children!

I first applied for my child on May 14, 2024, and received confirmation. Over time, I was told he was on the waiting list, and later that he was first on the waiting list. Then that there was no waitlist and administration had changed. I remained patient and continued to follow up appropriately. Since then, I have reapplied and followed up multiple times across the past two years. Most recently, I submitted another application and reached out again only to receive no response at all. I understand that staff may be out of the office at times. However, a complete lack of communication and follow-through over an extended period reflects a breakdown in process, not just timing issues. As a parent, it's frustrating and discouraging to feel like your child's application is not being actively managed. I genuinely like what this school represents, which makes this experience even more disappointing. Strong schools should have strong communication especially in admissions, where families are trying to make important decisions. At this point, it's difficult to feel confident in how prospective families are handled.

The teachers are so loving and affectionate, yet maintain perfect order, discipline, and manners in the classroom. With Patti, Theresa, Gail, and Stacey's help, our son began reading at four years old and makes amazing progress every day. As importantly, he has learned to be a "solid citizen" towards his teachers, classmates, and family.
