Since this is such a colorful and lively place, I love bringing foreigners to this spot. It's an amazing mixture of different scents, colors, people from all walks in life, sounds etc. You never know what you'll find here, of what/who you will see, which is part of the fun I guess.
Good place to come and try out traditional Mexican candy or snacks, sometimes they do offer samples but make sure to ask first... you don't want to get into an argument here. Also, if you're looking to cook Mexican dishes this is a great place to buy essentials like dried chile, condiments and spices.
The cool thing about this is that although there's a large number of tourists in this market, locals love it too. In here you can find stuff for your home (cups, decorations, chairs, kitchen mats, kitchen utensils, etc) and FOOD! Cheese, candy, meats, you name it! They got it. read more
