Have you had enough salt today? If not, the Studienwerk Mensa is here with extra salty entrees for you for your sodium needs. Prices are not as low as you might want, with some entrees as much as €4 for plates of jumbled up elements from meals served earlier in the week (recently there was a €3.90 meal of broccoli nuggets with "Belgian" fries and bbq sauce, quite obviously using the usual fries and broccoli nuggets offered once a week, if not more often), and the gut und günstig meals are only worthwhile for their convenience, not for their merit as meals given that 4/5 times in the week it'll be some pasta combination. The salad bar where you can pick your own meal can also be hit or miss - one day they had four different bowls full of romaine lettuce, a bowl of salted shredded carrots, and calamari rings (baffling, right?). So Mensa - ok und nicht so günstig, aber da. It exists, and you can go there when you forgot to pack a Tupperware full of cold noodles, or were feeling lazy, or love your salt. read more
