I really like my therapist but Care Counseling as a practice has been really frustrating and…read morestressful. I asked for my saved card removed from the payment portal after it was incorrectly charged over a hundred dollars I didn't owe for the second time. I have declined to save my card since and instead pay my copay after each appointment, and they have hounded me for it. The billing policy states "If a balance over $25 remains unpaid more than 48 hours after a session". In January I had an appointment on a Friday, the invoice was added to the portal on Sunday, and I had a 30 dollar balance for that single day over the weekend. They cancelled my upcoming appointments Monday morning before I checked my email and saw the invoice. There is no option to pay an upcoming copay before the invoice posts. 48 hours had not passed between the time the invoice posted to my account and the time my appointment was cancelled. A single business day hadn't even passed. Care expected me to: - Notice a weekend email - Log into a portal immediately - Pay a charge that didn't exist until hours earlier - Or lose access to care I left a one star review at that time. Someone from the practice actually called me about my review. I felt very uncomfortable with this, but she made it sound like she'd take care of the issue, so I said I'd remove the review. It was better for a week. Then a day after an appointment, within hours of the invoice posting, they called me to ask for my 30 dollar payment. I paid it when I saw the invoice in my email like I always do. I had another appointment yesterday. Today they called me and told me if I didn't save a card on file they'd need to cancel my upcoming appointment. If you want me to save my card on file, don't charge me over a hundred dollars I don't owe not once, but TWICE. I see from other reviews that I'm not the only person this has happened to. My husband previously went to Care too but had different issues. His therapist left and set him up with another therapist there. He had one appointment with her and another scheduled, but she abruptly left (or was fired? My first Care Counseling therapist was fired between my appointments too). He got a weird wishy washy phone call about rescheduling with a third therapist, but when he scheduled a time on their website, was informed that time wasn't really available. He gave up after that and made an appointment at a different practice. I would not recommend Care Counseling to anyone. I would stop going if I didn't like my therapist as much as I do. I suppose that choice might be made for me since they're threatening to cancel my appointment if I don't save a card.

I was discharged from my therapist without warning, the day before I was scheduled for a session where we would begin working on tieing things up for discharge. There was no warning. An email stating that the therapists were overloaded and retaining needed to be done. I heard nothing from my therapist. I got a phone call from the supervisor and was not given any care or apologies for the traumatizing experience of seeing my therapist taken off my case. With no real warning or adequate explanation. I was quicky discharged the next week, and since then I have realized how badly that experience was. I will never go back there.

When I hit a low and missed an appointment, I was never contacted by phone or email, simply sent a $90 missed appointment fee. Some therapists subscribe to the bootstraps philosophy of "just be more positive!" when it comes to treating mental illness, and I don't know how they get away with it. Worse, though, is the total lack of empathy evident in NEVER contacting a patient with a diagnosed social anxiety disorder and depression when they miss an appointment to see if they're okay - except to ask them for money.

I don't care if they're pharma scumbags or holistic therapists.. At the end of the day no one cares about your issues and paying to talk to someone is something I feel ashamed for doing. One counselor named Blair Ambrose was very quick to get me out the door when a session ended, I know you can't drag sessions on, understandable. But if you have a career centered on helping people, you figure you want to make sure people are ok. She also was going to charge me for a late fee for something that was abrupt and out of my control and I gave her nearly a 2 hour heads up that I might not make it. This place is a money pit, avoid it.

I consider the therapeutic relationship very important, as is the fit between counsellor and client. I like for our work together to be collaborative and interactive, so it is together that we will navigate your path of awareness and unfolding. I consider myself an eclectic therapist, drawing mainly from Psychodynamic, Relationtional and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). EFT is based on attachment theory and relationship bonding. When we are in a close relationship, it is normal to have disagreements and misunderstandings. But it is how we deal with these misses, that matters. The repairing, and coming back together is so important. Without this, we have layers and layers of unhealed wounds. We all want to feel that we belong and to be loved. I have such hope and optimism for helping you and your love partner, get out of the negative behavioral cycle, and create a new connection of love and belonging. Within a safe place, I will help you and your love partner to turn towards one another, share your vulnerabilities and create a loving connection.

This place is a nightmare. I had gone there to guest dose for 2 years and received my take home…read moredoses exactly how I get them at home. So I planned to go there again this year. When I got there, they CLAIMED they never got my paperwork, made me wait forever and finally I called my home clinic myself and had them resend it. They took my medicare card for 2 weeks of meds. BUT, when I got to the dosing window, they REFUSED TO GIVE ME TAKE HOMES! I explained that I had driven TWO HOURS TO GET THERE, ONE WAY! I explained I am on vacation and couldn't possibly do that! They didn't care ONE BIT! Then, they flat out called me a liar! Told me I was lying about getting take homes from them on previous trips! Here I am 1500 miles from home, and have NO MEDICINE! I was SO upset, scared and ANGRY! The manager, the receptionist, the woman that sits in the office next to the manager and the old crotchety nurse were all HATEFUL AND HORRIBLE to me. They absolutely refused to help me, gave me zero alternatives, called me a liar and just insulted my intelligence and questioned my integrity. I will be writing letters to the state regulators on methadone clinics, the states attorney, the main office for this company, the city of Manchester dept of licensing and anyone else I can think of. Those woman have NO BUSINESS being i jobs that require compassion and caring and actually liking people. Their job is to help people RECOVER! NOT to call them liars, insult them, make them feel like their worthless and like no one cares. I wouldn't go back there if I lived across the street and every one of those nasty women should be FIRED! I am a business owner, Iam educated and I'm not some drug addict looking for a hit. This is FAR from over on my part. Do yourself a favor, transfer to the brand new New Seasons Treatment!! They are awesome, caring and quick! They took me in no questions asked and went out of their way to be caring and nice!! Put Manchester out of business!!!
