About 2 years ago, my Husband and I were relocating from NW Missouri to Wichita, KS. We decided to leave behind our Refrigerator and Freezer and purchase new ones. We ordered them over the telephone for DELIVERY on a weekend that we would be at our newly acquired home. We were still painting and cleaning carpets, etc and Menards showed up on a Saturday afternoon with our purchases. Really nice Young Men delivered them and we were happy. And since then, all of our lighting fixtures and our Security Doors were purchased from Menards. We also acquired our Roofing Materials from Menards and USED one of their Suggested Contractors and also their Vinyl Siding Products (but used a Contractor recommended by our Realtor). I like Menards very much and always check here first for anything that I need. Oh, and I purchased some vinyl flooring for my Daughter's home here. Very nice, very helpful employees!! You know, I will be back. . . . . . . . . . . . . read more

I sometimes my support dog in store (she is a toy Aussie 18lbs). Normally the employees just love it! Today I was hunted down by an employee Darrell and was told my dog had tinkled on the concrete at the other end of the store. I thought this was ridiculous and asked him to please take me to the crime scene so I may clean it up. Also told me that another employee said I watched it happen, that's a big lie. I should have taken a picture of this little 6 inch wet spot. So while leaving the store I approached the manager Dumb-Dustin his stupid comment was that I should know when my dog was going to tinkle as he does with his dog, goodbye Menards! Thankfully Lowes and Home Depot have great employees and are nearby. read more

Horrible service. The east side Menards is much mor professional. The workers there are rude and do not help you.

Do NOT buy their lightbulbs GT-lite period. They fail after less than a month and would not offer credit when returned. Absolute garbage and they will not stand by defective product. I was missing bulbs I threw away as they continued to fail in locations difficult to reach. Brought back 12 of 16 bulbs with no offer for credit or anything. Left them in the store. Buy my bulbs from Home Depot thank you. read more

I purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator. Had to order it since I needed white. the female salesperson swayed me to purchase this item by saying she could have it to me by 24th. Nope. No phone call. waited all day. 25th, waited til noon then called them myself. This female salesperson said delivery is an ESTIMATE. oddly left out and f the sales discussion. On the 25th still was not at the store. had I not called in, I wouldn't even have known THAT. New expected delivery-possibly Friday. Appears they only cared about making the sale. No follow up customer contact. I won't recommend Menards for appliances unless you are talking to the knowledgeable gentleman who works back there. That female salesperson was awful. and I'm a female. I love to support female empowerment. Too bad her enthusiasm to sell didn't math her customer skills. Embarrassing for Menards. Do not purchase their Troy-Bilt gas weed eaters, they heat up after 20 minutes and won't start again. Menards told us to empty gas and bring back, when we did they refused to Credit us. Menards is a place to stay away from so is Troy Bilt. read more

I went to Menards to purchase shingles for a gazebo. I gave them the exact dimensions of the roof, and I told them the exact product I wanted to order. They didn't have the product in stock, so I had to special order it. They helped me calculate the quantity of shingles I needed to order for my roof. They told me I needed to order 19 boxes of shingles. So, idiot me trusted them blindly and ordered 19 boxes. My roofer installed the roof and I ended up with almost 4 extra boxes of shingles. I went to return the excess shingles and they charged me a 25% restocking fee. My wife tried explaining to Justin, the manager, on duty and he was not understanding. His employee's screw up, (The Menards representative) cost me extra time and money and he wouldn't hold Menards accountable for their mistake. All I wanted was for them to waive the restocking fee. read more

The returns process has always been difficult and it is still difficult. This is the only big-name store in town where it cannot refund your money to your credit card even if you have a receipt, if you don't have that credit card with you. Walmart can do that. Lowes can do that. Dillons can do that. But Menards cannot do that according to the customer service representative read more

This review is based upon Menard's delivery service. We own an investment property company. We enjoy the prices and overall shopping experience they have to offer. We spend THOUSANDS!!! You would think the store would invest in a more reliable delivery service. WE HAVE NOT HAD ONE UNEVENTFUL DELIVERY FROM MENARDS!!! They have a couple of young kids that can never get it right. They work for their dad.... so why would they want to actually be there ‍ that's the body language/ mindset I'm getting from them. -You ask for a 30min call ahead and they are already there. -They don't wait for the owner to meet and drop off with the tenant. -They take stuff that doesn't belong to them. -They sometimes don't call at all then refuse to deliver cause supposedly we didn't answer our phone when they called. THEY NEVER CALLED ON THAT OCCASION. -When calling them to rectify a situation that they caused they hang up on you. -Or never return your call. -They damage the equipment as they take it into the house. -They seem to have one guy always by himself trying to carry the load. -You don't Receive your entire order. -They have you waiting and no one shows. No call to say hey! Our truck broke down so your waiting for hours at a vacant property. I feel like I'm babysitting. I paid you!!! You provide a service!! Do your job!!!! And maybe think a bit. I have request numerous times to Menards west wichita location that they need to get a company that will not only provide better customer service but actually having a delivery staff that knows it is a privilege to have a job not a right and to actually do their job!!! They should be trying to make every customer happy. Especially with having an account with Menards!!! You don't mess that up by not thinking and just milking your day. I'm not saying stuff doesn't happen. But!!! When it is every delivery something needs to change!!! I'll probably think of other stuff to add to this list after I'm done with this review. But, y'all get the gist of what I'm trying to say. Save yourself the headache and pick up your products yourselves you'll save $100 and a headache. read more

Found them to be quite dishonest. This was not something I would have expected from a Wisconsin based business. Here's a tip: Never let them write down your card number. I will NEVER shop there again. read more

On March 8th bought a gas push mower from Menards east. I did not start using the mower until April. Around May 4th the area where the bag and right handle broke. I called Menards and they said that the warranty was only 7 days. Found this hard to belive so I put the mower in the truck and took it to Menards. The lady at the customer counter said if the mower had gas, and was used that it could not be returned. My wife asked to speak with a manager who told her that after 7 days with gas that the "gas" needed to be checked, even though the problem was not the issue. Said to take it to Jims Tire and Auto, Wichita, to have the "gas" checked for free. There they told me they never heard of such a thing but said for a $37 deposit they will look at it and said repair if under warrenty. Told me it would take two to three weeks. E-mail to Menards only resulted in a response that "They will look into". My advise is to never buy a gas powered machine from Menards, I never will again. Did file a complaint with Sate of Kansas consumer site, and a dispute with my credit card. read more

Their rebates a joke sent in about 800$ worth, followed instructions never received it. It's been 4 months. No wonder they want you to mail original receipt. No proof now. I will go back to lowes where we get veterans discount the day of. read more

If I could give a negative or zero star I would. My family went into this store today to purchase about $400 worth of supplies and were met with the rudest and worse excuse for customer service I have ever seen. My husband and I have medical problems causing us to be unable to wear a mask due to breathing issues and our son is to young. We were stopped at the door and asked if we had masks (no big deal there most places do it) but when we responded politely that we have a medical exemption and here is our proof signed by our doctor they proceeded to argue with us and ultimately refuse us service because we are physically unable to wear masks. One of the employees even went so far as to clench her fists at me. When we asked for a manager they called up some kid who was just another employee, not a manager at all, and we never did see one. If I had given this kind of service during my years in retail I would have been out of work. I guess people don't care anymore that the meaning of "customer service" is to serve the customer. We will NEVER shop there again and I will be telling all of my friends and family to avoid them also. They lost a big sale today and ultimately $1,000s of dollars as we fix up our new house. read more

I've gone to this store many times. But lately there has been a terrible odor on the store. It's so toxic that I get dizzy. Today I went on and about got sick. It seems to be worse near the front of the store, in the closet and storage area. read more

I love this store. There are so many options - way more than other places. One big downfall is I feel like I can never find anything. My experience is that it can be difficult to find someone to help with the size of the store. This is my first stop when working on a home project. If I can't find what I need here, then I move to online! read more

Honeymoon is over! I started visiting Menards on N Maize about 3 weeks ago (first time in a Menards since I moved from MN 10 years ago) and I loved it! I am a new homeowner so I've been in often. Tonight was the first time I left the store unhappy and frustrated. I know things must get slow and boring on Thursday evenings but I deserve the same service no matter what night it is. Employees were horsing around and chatting with each other and ignoring the customers. I don't mind flagging an employee down if I need help but I hate going through 3 different departments hunting for someone to help me. I still couldn't find help so I just left my cart and walked out. Told them at the service desk I was going to Lowes! read more

We went in this week and had masks with us, but they weren't on. We are over 70 and my husband has problems putting 1 on and taking it off without loosing his hearing aids. I have glasses and sunglasses that I have to wear together so it is a pain with a mask. We got told right away we had to have them on. We told them we didn't believe they help at all (studies out there prove that), but he said we would have to put it on or leave. I hadn't even gotten my sunglasses off yet (which I have been told by my doctor to put them on before I go out of the store and to wear them into the store before I take them off). So we put them on and shopped a little, but we decided we were not going to buy anything ever again from them because of their attitude. We have spent a great deal of money in there, but from now on we will go to Lowes and buy from there. We did go to Lowes and nobody told us to get masks on. read more

We ordered products from menards they were to ship items to us. 1 1/2 months later we canceled order and went to home depot. Menards are dishonest. If you have a $30 rebate you will get it. If it's $700 dollars they will keep it. The manager on maize rd. Isn't honest. read more

Buyers, Beware! This establishment is not worth even one star. We purchased a bathroom vanity and toilet for a home remodeling project. Both items were paid for in advance, in-store at this Maize Rd. location. We even saw the vanity and toilet in the designated pick-up area with our name on the items. None of our personal cars could fit the items, so our contractor was going to be picking them up in his truck one month later. We even checked on our items the week before our remodeling was scheduled to start- I physically laid eyes on them. When our contractor arrived at Menards for pick-up, the staff couldn't find the items. After waiting ONE HOUR - the staff pulled the items from off the floor in an attempt to give us what we paid for. We hadn't received any sort of contact from the store notifying us that our order was being placed back on the floor- even though WE HAD PAID. Upon unpacking the vanity, we discovered it was damaged. Once again, we went back to the store. The vanity we had already purchased was now out of stock at their Maize Rd. branch. The manager told us we would have to go get the same vanity model ourselves at the east side location. We asked if we could use one of their rental trucks at no charge, since this was a huge inconvenience and the staff was making no effort to make things right. We were told we would have to pay for the rental of the truck. So there you have it, don't shop here. They wasted our time and our contractor's time - your much better shopping at Lowe's, Home Depot, or Star Lumber. We won't be back. read more
