This is the second time I've been to this paint section and The second time im leaving upset. Savanna completely ignores me, both times. I stood directly in front of her and she didn't even glance at me. I'm standing and waiting to be helped, and another customer comes and as soon as he's in line he's asked if he needs help. Fortunately the customer realized I had been standing there so he gave the spot to me. Regardless, he was still finished first despite him having 5 buckets of paint and probably more to come and I had two and was still waiting! I waited for over 40 minutes, not including the amount of time I stood in front of Savannah and wasn't acknowledged. My paint sat on the counter untouched while they helped other customers. This will be the last time I go to the paint section. Also, last time, it took 3 people(Savannah included) to tell me that they could only make the primer gray. My suggestion for improvement: 1. get people who don't discriminate, because I feel discriminated against as I was the only black customer and the white customers were helped first even though they had more paint than me. Guy named Matt was super cool. A really friendly manager who knew exactly what to do and was kind/friendly. I feel very confident in the knowledgeable staff. Lights area and animal food area had their own experts too. We really didn't know what to buy, the people had experience and know-how. Everyone was in a good mood. Very satisfied. Paid a visit to Menards in Dundas this morning! I was impressed with their efforts to keep us safe while shopping at the store ! ! The staff all had masks on and were wearing them correctly! They require all customers to wear a mask ! They had signs to clearly help with social distancing! The sanitized each cart for you to use! I felt very comfortable and safe at this store! Which resulted in me spending more money ! Not only do you save more money at menards, but you keep your health! ! read more

Bought new appliances to be delivered. They called to confirm a delivery date of a Thursday from 8-12. Verbally confirmed on the phone with them to be safe. Took time off work. It got to be 12 so called the main store line and no one answered after a minute. Finally got a number for shipping. They told us they don't deliver on Thursday and only deliver in the afternoon. Never shopping this Menards again. read more

They go through new help in a week, thus there is usually nobody around that has a clue about their departments. The manager looks like he is pissed off and never makes eye contact or says hi to customers. read more

They force you to wear a mask even if you have a medical exemption. I have been yelled at by staff several times for taking my mask off just for a few seconds to use my inhaler. They literally have staff walking around just looking for people who aren't wearing masks so they can yell at them. read more

My friend and I shopped at the Menards Dundas, MN location today and the guest service I received from their staff was amazing. I did not catch the young lady's name but the young girl who was working outside in the garden area went well beyond what I've grown to expect from most retail experiences. I asked her if they had hay bails for Halloween decorating and she told us they did not have real hay but imitation straw ones. She walked us into the store and not only showed us where they were but found an open one so I could feel the straw. I decided against them, only because I wanted to give the hay to some horses after Halloween. My friend asked her if they had plastic pumpkin heads for her to use for a scarecrow and the girl showed her several options. She chatted with us regarding our projects before moving on. We proceeded to the checkout where a cashier named Lindsey checked us out. She was so friendly and quick at the same time. We had one extra small pumpkin that had no barcode on it and Lindsey was so sweet about it and found the barcode in her binder. My friend and I unloaded our cartful of items and before I even made a turnaround to return the cart a young man was there to take our cart back for us! As we left, I told her that retail experience was worth a glowing review. Too many times people focus on negative experiences; even though sometimes the experience may have even been their own perception. I wanted to praise the Dundas Menards for giving my friend and I a fun and exceptional shopping experience today. I can honestly say this store consistently offers friendly and fast service in a clean and well stocked store considering the era we are living in. Thank you Menards! read more

Have completed several remodel projects from this store and have found little to no help from staff in locating items. Went to the building materials desk and asked for underlayment/subfloor and was asked what exactly are you looking for when I said three sheets of underlayment/subfloor the kid there told me he did not see anything like that on the computer he had subflooring and underlayment plywood. So I asked for a manager who also said he could not find what I was looking for in the computer and was suggested I speak with people in their flooring department. I said this is what goes under the floor it is tongue and groove type plywood which he could not find in the computer so he again told me to speak with flooring. So I asked for 5 2x4 studs mid grade by 92 5/8 and a 2x10 12' long and they asked what the dimensions of that would be, at which point I had to start looking for a camera this had to be Americas funniest home video or candid camera no one is that dumb in a lumber yard. I was wrong and spoke with the store manager who told me they did not understand what I was asking for and he was able to help me get the ticket items I needed. Unbelievable... The store manager said they were just learning and needed some time to learn the materials, hears a clue if you work at a lumber yard at least know dimensional lumber and where to find it, basic skills needed to be of help to anyone. Fortunately I did have good luck with their millwork department who ordered several windows and got them right and contacted me to ensure that everything was good with the $5,000.00 in windows I purchased. Really like this place. Staff is always really friendly. They try to be efficient with purchased and returns. Typically some really good deals there. The deck team helped with the computer program to figure out our order. Those guys didn't seem happy in job and the program didn't not calculate properly at all and had make 2nd trip plus return several items. But that was small issue compared to all the really good experiences. read more

Don't expect to get much help. Staffing is light and uninformed. Special orders can take months to receive and the store will not call you when the order actually arrives. read more

We've been shopping here for almost 7yrs. It's a mixed bag. Occasionally we've had some very good people helping us but more often than not, they're nice enough but don't know much, give wrong information or on a couple occasions been down-right rude. I report those. Still, it's close and they have a pretty good supply, decent prices and sales. read more

It's like most big box stores. They probably have to keep employees to a minimum to keep costs down. But when you need help there is usually someone around and they are very knowledgeable about where to find things and usually more knowledgeable than I am about how it works or needs to be installed. I've had to special order a few things. They usually say 7-10 days before it's in and we'll contact you. They always have and it's usually 4-5 days early. I can shop Home Depot, Lowes and Menards. Menards is closer and usually cheaper. read more

I stopped by the Menards-Dundas, Mn store this morning for a carpet cleaning product. I was unable to find it on my own so I approached two salespeople, both of whom turned and walked away from me. The third employee reluctantly helped me locate the item. All the while the music playing overhead was Cee Lo Green's "F**k You. I got the message and left without a purchase. read more

I'm at the store weekly and find the staff helpful and courteous. If 1 staff doesn't have the answer they will find somebody that does.
