Looking for someone in a certain area isn't easy. When you do find an associate, they look down to avoid eye contact, act as if you're not there. Over the years of me going there, the associate approach to customers has really gotten worse. The people skills have gotten bad as well. A few examples: Waited in line to check out. An associate opened a new line to check a handful of people out. She made it very clear she wasn't happy she had to open another register, and she was very short and gruff with the customer before me and myself. I just laid the happiness on thick and said thank you and have a great evening. No acknowledgement. Or going to the pick-up area in the back. I greeted the associate. They mumbled something, then repeated it condescendingly. So, I once again put my happy face on and gave them the receipt. The first instance was on Black Friday. I'm sure none of them wanted to be there, but that's not my problem. I love the store, but I don't feel the associates are genuinely trained on actual people skills in the customer service realm. read more

Employee aren't knowledgeable in the department assigned. I made multiple trips to Menards to have window blinds custom fit. Each time, employees measurements were off. I never was able to get correct cut window blinds after 4 trips. Very unsatisfied customer. read more

Menards is a great stop for a lot of household needs. The sell everything from milk to lumber!! They offer rebates back on items which is great way to get repeat business. Definitely one our fave stores. read more

I enjoy visiting this store, as it has most of my hardware & project needs. I do have trouble finding things from time to time. Electrical tape was the trouble today. Helpful tips. 1.Less busy in the mornings 2.there is an upstairs to this place that is easily overlooked that sometimes has good bargains. It is also nice Menards has snack foods and some household items the other hardware stores don't have. The downside... Menards does have plenty of good brands, but they also have random brands that are not so great. And if you are buying lumber, don't expect any help loading, and they don't cut, like many of the other hardware stores can. read more

Some good, some not. The positives are generally friendly people and good selection at fair prices. The not so good: the security guard going into the gated area thinks he's a prison guard on death row, the way he treats people and throws his considerable weight around. The other disappointment is going through all the steps of sending in paperwork for a $35 rebate and never receiving it. My wife is very scrupulous about having everything exact in rebates. So the fault is with Menards. We were hoping to "save big money" with a rebate but did not. read more

I ordered online masks for my wife and I on May 6th. As of today May 26th I have yet to receive them. After 5 emails to "guest services" I have yet to receive any reply. I went to the store and was told by what seems to be a manager that they could not refund me anything unless it was approved on line. I was promised a call from them but that too was never received. After spending $65.00 on this order and seeing the tracking number never move from shipping label created, I have given up on this company. I have spent quite a bit of money at Menards and was ready to replace all my appliances in a couple of weeks but I will go to Lowe's or Home Depot where they have great customer service. Continued to fulfill orders for other people behind me telling me they'll look for it after they get them taken care of. Called the store while I sat in line to talk to the "front end manager" to only be transferred to the special orders department. Here I sit, still waiting. Horrible customer service. read more

I had an issue that I had politely asked to be taken care of several times. Before I got off the phone with the office manager, she said the store manager would have to handle this. I asked that before I received another phone call from this store, that the matter be taken care of. After 8 phone calls, which at this point was very upsetting to me that I had to deal with this, this much. I was having a good day until the manager started talking back to me and interrupting me, & refused to let me speak...I am sad to say that the management team at this store has treated me horribly. Actually one of the managers just hung up the phone on me. He would not let me finish my conversation with him, he would not let me speak to him about a matter that was supposed to be handled in August and I have made continuous phone calls to this store and again they have agreed to take care of the matter. But continuously it is not getting taking care of, this store has hold horrible customer service and it has ruined my experience at menards as a whole. I went to the Evansville, Indiana store to have a kitchen design completed for a total remodel of my kitchen. I informed the "Designer" who waited on me, that I had never purchased cabinets before and was uncertain of what types of information I would need to give, thereby needing guidance through the process. I had brought with me the dimensions of my kitchen space given to me by my contractor. The "designer" created a CAD image using these dimensions and the cabinet types I chose. I was given a schematic of this design. On this image, the cabinets are shown mounted 12 inches below the ceiling. There are no dimensions listed on this page, only on the schematic, and then the dimensions shown are strictly horizontal measurements. When the cabinets arrived, the construction crew removed them from the boxes to install them, but work had to stop when we found that cabinets were 39-inch cabinets, as ordered, but 39" cabinets cannot be mounted 12 inches below the ceiling without partially occluding all the installed electrical outlets, the wiring for the below-cabinet lighting, as well leaving no room for any appliance on the counter other than possibly a small toaster. Had they mounted them as shown in the design, less than 12" would have been available on the countertop. This was never pointed out to me, indicated on the drawing, or in any way whatsoever referred to by the "designer." I had no problem with the cabinets being mounted at ceiling level, which I thought would look very nice with the crown molding and work resumed but had to again stop because the 15-inch cabinets purchased for over the stove and over the sink areas, as suggested by the "designer," would look completely ridiculous as well as be unreachable without a chair. The adjacent cabinets also still could not be installed. Construction on the kitchen came to a complete halt, also delaying the plumber and the electrician who were scheduled. This necessitated my returning to Menards on November 13. I was again waited on by the same employee. I explained the problem and got absolutely no response other than to be informed I could not return the 15" cabinets. I explained I was upset at having to absorb the cost of two 15-inch cabinets and spend more money on additional cabinets as a result of the drawing depicting a mounting for 30-inch cabinets and not 39-inch, as it should have been. I received no response whatsoever to this. I was simply ignored. This employee proceeded to attempt to place an additional order for the 24" cabinets, which he said needed to be appended to the original order. However, after more than five minutes, he told me he was having trouble finding my original order against which to reference the new order and to excuse him. He left the area for several minutes, then returned stating "Now I have to start all over!" since my original order apparently had been deleted. He did put in the new order and place it. I then paid an additional $531.34 for replacement cabinets. This order was supposed to be placed on a Rush, however, he forgot and failed to do so, thereby delaying my construction crew another 1-2 weeks. I have since communicated by mail with Menard, Inc. Guest Services, located in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. However, all replies are generic and offer no solution. In the past I went in to the store to see the Store Manager about this but got no satisfaction. Five and one-half weeks after this, he called me stating, "Menards might consider taking back the 15" cabinets." I explained that with nearly six weeks having gone by, after being told I absolutely could not return them, I had found another use for them that was not intended, but since I was stuck with them I had done so. Today I again tried to call and speak to him as suggested in the last Guest Services letter, but was told he was at a seminar. The store declined to give the Home Office phone number, "We don't give that out." I found the number online and called Guest Services asking to speak to the woman I had been corresponding with and was refused. "She only does business in writing." Menards is using incompetent personnel to design multi-thousand dollar kitchens and are completely uncooperative to make restitution for their mistakes. I have all documents, including CAD image and schematics; the store itself lost all their documentation. I spent over $13,000.00 in this store during my remodel, which included other rooms as well. I would like to be reimbursed for the cost of the additional cabinets I was obligated to purchase as a result of their design error. read more

We shop here on a regular basis and often go for the sales. Recently we bought a set of accordion doors and a couple months later (when I finally got around to putting them up) I found out the spot I was going to install them and it was too wide! After calling Menards to ask if they sold an extra rail they said they didn't but could grab one out of an existing package and set it aside for me! This is why I like Menards - excellent customer service and they have always been helpful. As for the 3 star review on here - seriously? Because the store is big and you can checkout only on one side? We love Menards! We don't mind a workout! read more

I really like Menards! They have such an amazing selection of almost everything they offer and they also sell a lot of home goods and food. I am always surprised at the neat things I find at Menards. Their seasonal items and decorations are also great. They give a lot of discount deals and rebate offers so a person can really save if they watch the deals. read more

Special ordered a tub and shower. Love it. We received an email that it was in. Went to pick it up and they forgot to give us our accent pieces. We didn't realize it. Until they called us to say it was after the 90 days and we had not picked it up. We brought our receipt in to get a refund. They charged us $53 for a re stock fee. And an in store credit on a piece of paper... With technology today they can't have a store card to keep track of receipts like Lowes does or give you a card to scan with your in store credit. THEY WRITE YOUR NEW TOTAL ON THE PAPER EACH TIME YOU USE IT! We built 3 houses through menards 17 years ago. Please improve this system. I am charged because an employee didn't put it all in that huge box! And a paper in store credit! read more

Worst customer service ever. I ordered over $4000 in kitchen cabinets. They were custom order and took weeks to arrive.First time it was delivered to the store it came in broken. The second time, they ordered the wrong cabinets. I wrote an email to Menards. I was given a regional manager Mr. Hites phone number and told to call him. I emailed them back and told him to call me. It has been weeks and no call from him, still no cabinet. I own several rent houses. I will never ever purchase from Menards again. I would highly recommended going to Home Depot before I stepped foot in Menards. read more

I understand that Covid has made things challenging to say the least, but when I went into the Evansville store, I noticed that there were employees not wearing their masks appropriately as well as customers walking around the front entrance area that either had there masks below their nose or on their chin. I had my mask on, however my husband did not for medical reasons. Instead of the employee (Tim) approaching/questioning my husband, I was targeted when I made mention of mask wearing not being followed by others around us. Tim harassed me for my husband not having a mask even though I had one on appropriately. It is the first time ever in that store that I have ever felt threatened by an employee and will take my business elsewhere due this employee's treatment of myself. It is not ok to discriminate and harass me for another person's disability/medical issues and be within touching distance of me enough that it made me feel uncomfortable, threatened, and harassed which is enough to make anybody feel defensive. This employee should not be allowed to treat people in such a way. read more

I have two issues the first issue is my washer isn't working I bought the warranty when I bought the washer I called on 7/16/2020 to make claim they said they couldn't come out tim monday 7/20/2020 anywhere from 8-5 I canceled other appointments to be sure I would be home, and they never showed up or called me. I called the service place again because I've had to go to the laundry mat and they acted like it was mo big deal. Still haven't received a new appointment. I will never buy a appliance here. My 2nd issue is I had a return I lost my receipt but used my menards card I tried to return it about 3 weeks ago and it didnt show up on my menards card. I found the receipt 5 days after the 90 days which every other company has been extending returns because of cov 19, but not them. They gave me stire credit I wanted it off my card. I'm very unsatisfied with menards. I've been seeing alot of complaints on Facebook about them but I still loved them, and shopped there, but I'm done know. I'll take my business elsewhere. read more

I had foot surgery and was needing an electric chair. My wife found an employee and asked if he could help us and he said there are three of them and if they're not there there was nothing he could do. Instead of being polite, Troy was rude and didn't care if we were a customer or not. My wife then approached the manager and instead of an apology and being helpful he said Troy is usually not that way and gave an excuse that he could NOT leave the front of the store...even though he followed us out to a car helping someone else. If you're looking for customer service, I would suggest Lowes or Home Depot and NOT Menards. Management appeared to be inexperienced. read more
