Was traveling from Nashville, and stopped at IKEA in Memphis. My wife and daughter wanted a decent burger from somewhere, so I started looking up places. Memphis Mojo Cafe pulled up with good reviews for the food. Saw the one bad review for the Apple Martini, so decided to get it just to try it out. Looks just like the one he complained about colorwise. Admittedly, the bartender let me choose my own vodka, and he told me that their pucker was "wonky"...so guessing maybe that is what the change was from the obviously super green normal green apple pucker. It was good and strong, so no complaints from me or my wife...and their burgers and fries were delicious and filling. Saw other people's food being brought out, and everything I saw looked good. The ambiance is definitely "dive bar"...but I'd go back and try different items in the future.
This place is incredible the food is delicious Me and my fiancé got the catfish tacos. I got the jalapeño burger, which was so delicious and fresh and he got the pimento burger, which was also delicious. They use great ingredients
Memphis Mojo Cafe has some good looking pictures of their food. Sadly, for me, no corn nuggets again. Probably for more than a year, my browser shows they close sometime around 6:00pm. But it's not true! I just got off the phone with them. They said that they close a 9:00pm. They didn't sound like they believed me when I mentioned that a Memphis Mojo Cafe website with their address stated that they were closed. Yasss, as we were speaking. At that point in time, I believe that I was informed that I didn't pull up the right website or something equally as hilarious. Talk about the Mandela effect. Maybe someday, I'll be in that parallel universe, and finally get to check out them corn nuggets and that #17 burger. But for now, I'm stuck with pulling up, Mojo's alternate universe websites, where I can't seem to get to their main menu. Seems like, I'm in some sort of paradox loop. Whenever, I click on menu from the about page, that has appetizers, page, I get sent back to the appetizer page (I'm on the wrong website anyway. Therefore, it doesn't exist). I'm just realizing, that I have been in a about page to appetizer loop for a whole year. It's all coming clear.
When I first discovered MoJo's they were in my top 3 for burgers I love the smoked burger (smoke Gouda cheeseburger) it comes with candided bacon idk if it's a different staff or what but the last few times the food has not been as good I asked for my burger to be well done it had pink throughout it where I was having to pick it out I found 2 pieces of hair on my tray one near my fries and one near my burger I know it was not my hair because my hair is curly and these were straight strings then I went to the bathroom it smelled bad and the bathrooms were dirty then the icing on the cake was when I came back from the bathroom I saw the cook putting buns on the grill with his bare hands no gloves so I'll be taking a break on them for a very good while
I have heard quite a few people praise this place so tonight I headed over to see if the praise was justified. Well, in a word, yes. They make a great burger reminiscent of a burger that you woukd find in a drive-in restaurant. I also opted to make it a combo and opted for tater tots. For my burger i chose the bacon pimento burger, the fact that they blend the pimento with smoked gouda adds an extra dimension to my burger. The tater tots were nice and crispy. Something else that I was warned about, it was a bit pricey for a burger. My third pound burger, tater tots and a drink was about thirteen or fourteen dollars. A bit high when it came out in a takeout container. It was a good experience and i would not hesitate to head back there. It was a decent experience and good food.
The food here is really good, when they don't run out of ingredients. I've been here three times and two of them they were out of a list of items. Tonight is no different. No French fries, no Bleu cheese, no turkey, no chicken, no bell peppers, no sliders.... I would recommend a particular burger to try, but there's no guarantee they can make it if you ordered it. If you do try them out, definitely get the mojo fries (or tots if they're out of fries again). They really are amazing!
Great food and service is consistent. This time I ordered a cheeseburger and fries via Uber Eats. I was very hesitant to do so because well...it's delivery and I didn't want cold food. I got lucky because my food arrived hot and fries were still hot( that's the most important). I haven't been here in a while, but I must say it was as I remembered and I noticed my driver was at the location waiting for the food to be prepared, so I knew it wasn't just sitting there waiting to be picked up. Definitely would recommend and although I ordered thru an app this time, I'd rather go pick up in person or dine in. The fries were good and not salty. I know the pic looks very salty but whatever their seasoning is, is not just seasoning salt like most places. The burger I should've requested medium or medium well but, it was still good, just a little too done for me. Bun was nice and soft and the burger came with cheese, I think slivers of onion, pickles, mayo and mustard. Not sure if that's standard, but I requested mayo and pickles. Either way the toppings went well with the burger.
My experience at Mojo Cafe has been delightful and memorable. Someone close to me offered to take me here because of how much they enjoyed their previous visit. When we walked in a smile formed on my face due to a rush of nostalgia. Where I was raised, spots like this fed families looking for a quick, but delicious bite that felt closer to home cooking than some fast food chain. In general, the burgers were fantastic, the sides well seasoned and the service was welcoming. Food: -The person who recommended this place spoke highly of the burgers; so naturally that's where my eyes focused when I began to scan the chalkboard menu. I was quite hungry and quite excited so I asked the cook what he would get. He mentioned the fan favorite to be a 6oz single patty burger with bacon, aioli, and gouda cheese. He also mentioned that the monster burger was great for an empty stomach after a long day. Candied Bacon Burger (no aioli): -The burger I had can only be described as a dream. The first burger on the menu, aka the fan favorite, had me thinking about the restaurant for days. It was known as the Candied Bacon Burger. The single patty held the perfect amount of juice which trapped all of the seasoning and beefy goodness. The crust around the patty was sort of similar to a smash burger in its crust. The star of the show, however, was the thick candied bacon and gouda cheese. I'm not sure who came up with this idea, but they deserve some kind of award. The bacon added a delicate sweetness which made the burger stand out and it was only further complimented by the more intense cheese selection. The sweet and savory elements stopped each other from getting out of control and I loved it. The following day I microwaved the leftovers which reintroduced me to wonderful sensations I got to experience while spending time here. Monster Burger ( I think that's the name): -The monster burger was the only sandwich to feature two patties and had grilled onions, lettuce, tomato, mustard, and spicy aioli. I ordered onion rings as a compliment and waited only a short while for my meal. At first glance, I knew the food would be good because I could see the spice blend on the onion rings which told me that they care about the small details. I took a bite of the onion rings first and they were simply well-executed and delicious. I then took a bite of the absolutely hulking burger and closed my eyes to enjoy its aggressive flavors. The patties were so juicy while also having that beautiful crush from the griddle. The bun was soft and the flavors all worked really well together. By the end of the meal, I was more than full and felt that it was more than worth the price. My only critique is that I personally felt that it could have used a tad less mustard and a little more salt. I can't really complain, he said it was meant to get me full and that's what it did.
A burger from Memphis Mojo Cafe has been on my burger bucket list for years. I decided to start with the popular Smoked Cheeseburger. The burger patty was larger than I expected, was packed with flavor and cooked perfectly (medium/medium well). The gouda cheese added a unique tang that complemented the slight sweetness of the caramelized onions. The chipotle aioli rounded out the toppings with a tinge of smoky heat. The bun was glistening and did a great job of holding everything together. As an onion ring aficionado, I found the panko-breaded onion rings to be quite amazing. They were just crunchy enough and cooked well. The breading was much more flavorful than your average onion ring. I look forward to returning to Memphis Mojo Cafe to try some of the other enticing burgers on the menu
I door dash Memphis Mojo Cafe on Friday 06/10/2022. I had the smoked cheeseburger and seasoned fries. The seasoning on the fries had the right balance, so that it wasn't too much. When you take a bite out of the smoked cheeseburger you can just immediately taste the smokenes of everything from the patty, the cheese, and the bacon.
Big Bold Burger Full of Flavor Well seasoned The to go order had Tons of fries for days The burger for fully loaded with all the trimmings 5 stars To go Order: Big burger Tons of fries Deep fried pickles Seasoned tater tots Special dipping sauce
I completely understand why the smoked cheeseburger is award winning...it's great!!! This was my first time here and I really enjoyed my food. I spent about $13+tip on a meal that included fries and a drink. The burger was cheesy, had a lot of flavor, loved the smokiness, juicy and the bun was buttery. The fries were seasoned well. The food came out really fast. Giving it 4 stars because they are out of quite a few menu options, main soda were missing and the location could use some straightening up.
Philly Tots with chorizo gravy. I asked for the gravy on the side, but that didn't work out clearly. Lol!!! I think the portions got bigger. I'm not mad and I'm going back first chance I get lol!! Service is A1 and made to order. Also, you can get electronic receipts. I'd definitely recommend. It's LIT lol read more

Walk in and order. Today the AC was out of order, but they were oh so gracious about it I ordered fish tacos with some sweet potato fries. The spousal unit ordered a mushroom cheeseburger. And we both dove in before I could take a pic These aren't Texas sweet potato fries or onion wings... but I wish someone in Texas would try Yummy! Everything is well seasoned and oh so good! The cashier tonight was lovely and brought out food to the table, and came back to check on us. A little hot but otherwise great read more

I haven't been north of Walnut Grove & 240 since SR 385 linked up to I40! Before that, it was strictly interstate, and only because I had no choice! I simply hate Cordova, Bartlett, Wolfchase, all of it! So, why start my review this way?? I had a meeting with an architect on Stage Rd. I thought, when am I ever going to get to Bartlett again? Where do I go that I haven't been before? Hell, any and everywhere is uncharted territory for me. I recalled a few places that peaked my interest. The taco place nearby almost got me until I remembered the burger joint from the "Burger Binge Week". MOJO! I arrive and see only one other guest. It was 2:25 or so, whatever. Approach the counter and the young lady there to help me wasn't completely focused it seems and missed the same answer to the same question three times. It's cool, no hurry, kids will be kids. A exceptional lady steps up and finishes my order while instructing "new girl". She asked all the right questions and probably saved my meal with her attention. She even stated all burgers are cooked med-well automatically and I asked her to back it down some. Glad she asked! I ordered the Smoked Cheese Burger and Fries. The burger was cooked perfectly and was full of flavor. The candied bacon was a nice touch but was somewhat lost when all put together. It could have used a quick recharge on the grill before being added. If it were a little crunchy it would have been more noticeable. Onions were soft like I like them. I dig the cheese. Great burger overall!!! Fries were not my thing. The seasoning was to spicy. I don't mean in a hot way either, it was like nutmeg, or cinnamon, or something that was jolting at first but got better as I ate. I'll do another side on subsequent visits. The fries themselves were just standard frozen fries. Nothing wrong with that. Service was 5 star! These people care about their business and it shows! Keep it up MOJO! I was impressed by all of what seemed to be a family run business. This is a solid, solid 4 star place!!! It may even make me drive back to Bartlett. Maybe read more

Good food, good service. Was very willing to mix and match burgers to meet my own special burger needs. Meet is made to order, so one to the next is a bit different. My burger was a bit better than my wifes; she was not as much of a fan as I was. I suggest a stop in and get the smoke cheeseburger, highly nationally ranked. Well worth the stop. Dont forget the Mojo Tots, get extra sauce as you can't have too much! read more

Another great find with the help of yelp! We saw all the great reviews and knew we had to get a burger here! The burgers were so good and perfectly seasoned. I also noticed they used turano buns which is a local bakery near my hometown in Illinois. They definitely seek out quality products for their restaurant. The staff was all very friendly. We will return when in Memphis! read more

Great place for a quick and tasty burger. I got the smoked cheese burger and it was great! A great combination of salty, sweet, and meaty. I personally would add jalapeños in the burger to cut the sweetness from the candied bacon inside. It really takes the burger from a 3 to a 4. I also recommend getting the corn nuggets if you are with a groups. It's a nice savory sweet treat to snack on as you wait for your burger. read more

I visited this restaurant during the Covid-19 pandemic. I had Been craving burgers for some time so i searched burgers on Yelp and this restaurant was first on the list. They were already saved to my list of places to try. I called in a placed an order and the young lady was very polite. They told me the wait time would be about 25 mins which is reasonable for a Saturday. When i arrived, my food was ready, i paid and was in and out in 2 mins. I was starving so i ate the burger in the car!! Check my video out! I got the Super Burger. It's a double pattie burger with Gouda and cheddar cheese, caramelized onions, lettuce, pickles and some kind of sauce. It was sooooo good and i forced myself to finish it. It was pretty massive! Sure I'll be full for the rest of the evening. As i sat in the Parking lot, you could see that they got many customers so this place must be a go to for the people in the area. Will def be adding to mine! read more

I'm a burger fanatic. I'm not necessarily a burger expert, but I know what I like. This place undoubtedly has THE best burgers around! Yes, you're at the right spot. What should you order? I just had the long awaited Donut Burger. I say it's long awaited because they only serve it on Tuesdays and Saturdays and it never seems to be one of those days when I'm there. Anyway, it was the perfect blend of savory and sweet. These guys know how to cook a burger. They mix angus, sirloin, and brisket to make their ground beef. That's why it's so good. The bacon is candied. I don't know how they do it, but they do! It's unbelievable. The onion rings are really unbelievable. Hand made, hand battered, but not the way you're thinking. They are truly unique. The sliders are the best around. The chicken sandwich is incredible as is the chicken slider. Someday I'm gonna try a big burger. They do 12 oz, 24, and even 30 ounces! Those cheese tots really, really hit the spot if you like potatoes and lots of cheese. There is no wonder why I place Memphis Mojo at the very top of my Top Ten Burgers of Memphis. Support this business so they can continue to support my burger habit. read more
I must admit I've past this place a million times and never really paid it much attention as the outside of it looks very unassuming, well I wondered in one day actually looking for a good Reuben and wound up having the most Epic burger ever!!, I've eaten a ton of burgers, up, down and across the United States, and overseas and this burger was hands down the best I've ever eaten, grilled to perfection, size, flavor, plate appeal wow!!, just wow!, this burger was so good halfway through it, I actually paused for a moment of silence. Nevermind the mundane reviews of parking or the esthetics of the restaurant or seating they are irreverent, this is burger Heaven!!!!, these burgers are last meal good!! read more
During Covid it's tough but this little cafe seems to have it under control. Sanitary and social distancing prepared. For our first time I ordered some fried pickles because yum AND because they weren't fried as spears. They were DELICIOUS and fresh out of the fryer but if anything the dill sauce was close to perfect. I also ordered the Moji burger which wasn't something I see myself ordering again but I wanted to give it a try. With mustard and onions it just didn't do the trick even though it was well cooked. Juicy and BIG with a well matched bun. The seasoned fries were also past our expectations and I won't lie, I dipped them in the dill sauce and asked for more. We'll be back! Thanks to the friendly staff and girl at the front who ensured everyone was taken care of. read more
