It's a great environment and a good place to grab a drink after work or just because. One might think that would constitute 5 stars, but time after time I've been here, the service continues to be subpar. It is not difficult to be pleasant. Try harder. I always feel like I'm inconveniencing the gentleman bartender who works many of the nights. I'm sorry you have to do your job; mine sucks sometimes too, but I manage a smile and a polite demeanor. But seriously, go. It's worth it.

Holy moly! I've heard rumors for awhile now that they a happy hour and it has been on my short list of things I want to try it. Well, yesterday I had a meeting in the bar area at 4 and decided to ring up a few friends after it was over to fully experience their happy hour. And honey, I'm so glad I did. Their house by the glass is only $4 and well liquor is $3. Tower Center, I think we're going to get along just fine (especially since my office is literally next door). But what really impressed me (besides that view), was the food! I am super picky about my cheese plates and not only was it pretty to look at, but it was yummy to eat (kinda important). And the chicken wings? Yes, please! They were so cute and tiny and delicious! I've actually never seen pretty chicken wings but somehow they managed to do it (no seriously, check out my photo). I also stole some bites of my dining partner's french fries and they were indeed just like I like 'em. And the pizza? Phenomenal! You've got to check out my food porn pics! They also rent out the venue space so take a peek around!

I was looking for those family meals that feed several people (which would be AMAZING if that was an option here!) but I made my own. I ordered 3 of the Voodoo Pasta which was a pleasant surprise, I was not expecting it to be so good and the freshness of the seafood was on point. I also bought a 16oz Smoked Chicken Salad which was just as good! The customer service was on point as I had to call before I even ordered because I couldn't locate the menu online. When I arrived and parked in their designated spot someone came to my car to get my payment and brought out my food! Absolutely what I needed on a rainy day trying to run last minute errands. This will definitely be added into my meal planning rotation for those days I just can't fit everything into my day.

I had a "special" birthday gift and wish to a friend that was going away, I chose Holliday Flowers & Events Inc to help me with making their birthday wishes a success. The arrangement they created was truly "magnificent" and so overwhelming, I am sure my friend liked it. I had also purchased a giant "Teddy Bear" and a special jewelry item that I entrusted to Holliday to deliver as well. I must admit, their service and commitment was 100% plus and I believe my friend had a great birthday sendoff. Angela is like a wedding genie. She is REALLY good at matching the right vendors with the right brides based on their budgets and their personality. I know, because she totally nailed it when I needed a photographer and florist for my New Orleans wedding in 2011 (prior to my employment there). For anyone considering a planner, especially for a wedding- look no further. SEP is a one stop shop for decor, floral, coordination, invitations, and vendor recommendations. We DID NOT want to be involved in every single detail and wanted to delegate as much as possible to Angela. She helped with contracts, design, vendor selection, and with my sanity. Angela took care of every detail and was extremely organized. Angela organized things so well that we only made a single trip to Memphis during the planning process for a weekend filled with meeting DJs, musicians, tasting caterer menus, and visiting venues. Most importantly, Angela took the time to understand the vision we had for our wedding and was very creative and meticulous in executing it. She had great vendor recommendations, but didn't mind working with new vendors we had heard good things about. She worked her contacts to help us find a band composed of local church musicians, and mined flea markets for months looking for decorations - she really went above and beyond. Our wedding was as unique and beautiful as we had hoped for and we owe it all to Angela. I would recommend Southern Event Planners to anyone looking for a unique and wonderful wedding.

That said, there's not much one can say about comparing wedding planners against other wedding planners, and if someone can... you might want to think about who you're marrying. So, she went 1 for 1 in my book, and here's the 'guys' take on it all... bullet point style: Pro's - Amy Miller is the best... fact. - Stays calm when others are not... super calm... very helpful - Always available and makes a couple feel like they are always her #1 priority - Massive network makes life extremely easy when picking vendors - Listens, then responds - Allows a couple to be ridiculous and encourages unique and fun ideas - Also can calmly returns a couple back to Earth when needed - Is smart, thinks through logistics item by item, not just frills and lace but nuts and bolts too Con's - Nearly none... except be sure to keep your eye on your own budget, she won't be your book keeper (rightly so) - Only one wedding to work with her on! (She does events too, so we'll see her again in the future!) Look, a wedding planner is an added expense to an already ridiculous racket of an industry, but having a partner who's been there, done that (and having that not be your actual partner) is a massive benefit to planning a great event. During the planning process, it sometimes doesn't feel worth it... but the days just before, the day of, and certainly in the days, weeks, and months following, the benefits and value of having someone like Amy Miller involved in your wedding are worth every penny.

Unfortunately, Southern Charm Events Group's performance at my Line Sister's wedding made me regret that support. The services (and I use that term loosely) delivered by Danielle, the Day of Coordinator, were nothing short of horrendous; they amounted to a dereliction of duty. There was no task too small for Danielle to bungle. Even the minute details eluded her competence: one of the bridesmaids who was not holding a flower bouquet asked Danielle what she should do with her hands; Danielle simply did not respond. It was left up to other bridesmaids to provide the information. A slightly more abhorrent failure occurred when members of the bridal party informed Danielle that they were vegetarian. There were a wealth of options that she could have brought to the table, but she settled on a lone bowl of Brussels sprouts that, in the end, were topped with pork rinds. For those that are inclined to think, "well, at least she tried," it is important to note that that specific blunder was indicative of Danielle's performance generally--she was, quite simply, a day late and a dollar short in all regards. The most egregious example of her negligence and incompetence is that she started the wedding without the officiant being present. And, to add insult to injury, because she showed up to the wedding dressed as if calisthenics was the theme, it was left to the photographer to deliver the bad news to the groom. It took the loving bridal party, family, and friends, along with the absolute graciousness and poise of the bride and groom, to remedy Danielle's multifarious shortcomings. I cannot stress enough how incredibly inept, unprofessional, inadequate, and deficient her services were. In my opinion, which is shared by the overwhelming majority of those who attended the wedding, Southern Charm Events group is boo boo.
