It seems like lots of locals frequent this spot and regularly donate and purchase their items. Which are reasonably priced. I ended up buying a few simple tank tops and they averaged about $1.25 or $1 each. That's why they've apparently been in business for over 20 years said the owner. She was nice and generous too - even said I could grab some lemons or squash from her garden (which were in a box) at the front of the store near the exit.

About a month ago, I ordered two furniture pieces and paid a 50% deposit, with the understanding I would pay the remaining balance when the items arrived. While I was in the store, I witnessed another customer ask about a kamaʻāina discount and paying cash to avoid taxes, and the salesperson agreed. I then asked if I could do the same. The salesperson told me that with a Hawaiʻi driver's license, I qualified for a kamaʻāina discount. The salesperson offered to refund my deposit so I could pay cash after the discount was applied when the furniture arrived, and I agreed. Later, I was contacted by the owner (Courtney), who told me they do not offer a kamaʻāina discount and that paying cash was the "discount." That is not what was explained to me in-store. When I asked that the agreement made by their salesperson be honored, it was refused. Instead, I was repeatedly told that the kamaʻāina discount (which they dont offer!!) referred to tax savings, which was never how it had been presented at the time of purchase. I questioned why I needed a Hawaii Drivers License then? Anyone can pay cash! During that call, Courtney ended the conversation after stating she would not honor what had been communicated in-store and had nothing further to discuss. Because of how this situation was handled, I chose not to move forward with the transaction. Potential customers should be wary of what felt like bait-and-switch terms and unethical business practices. What is communicated at the point of sale may not be what is ultimately honored. This experience felt misleading, reflected poor business practices, and completely eroded my trust.

It is nice to have a nice shopping center in Kailua-Kona. I remember the first time I've discovered this shopping center in the heart of Kailua-Kona while vacationing 9 years ago in 2008. Since then, it's been one of my go-to places to grab essential items without having to buy them within the resort areas of the island. The Keauhou Shopping center has the basics of any shopping center you can find on the island. The mixure of restaurants, grocery stores, and other specialty shops makes the Keauhou Shopping center a discovery worth making. On this recent trip to Kailua-Kona and this shopping center. For this trip on June 2017, I opted to shop at Longs Drug Store and looked around the farmers market they had nearly set up in the parking lot. It was neat to see awesome finds in the local community. Most of it is good or coffee related, so I didn't buy anything that day. The overall experience here each time at the Keauhou shopping center can be described as being nice, quaint, and serendipitous. It has whatever you are craving for. The Keauhou shopping center is located at 78-6831 Ali'i Drive, in the heart of Kailua-Kona. Many merchants here accept major credit cards, so that's always a good thing - as well as cash too. Since this is a public shopping center, there's plenty of parking here, so that's not usually a problem. I am not sure if the Hele On public transportation system comes through here and stops here, but best bet would be to rent a car, just for that sheer importance of convenience. On previous trips, I had frequented the Subway on property, as well as the other merchants here, although I've forgotten which and what year. For what it's worth though, I think that this shopping center is strategically placed for visitors and residents alike to have that alternative to resort and resort shopping. To be able to immerse themselves in local kine shopping and spend $$ to boost the local economy is a great thing. I would recommend coming here, just to see if you can get a bite to eat here, or do your daily shopping needs here. The Farmer's Market is pretty cool, but it is small and limited. The vendors here are friendly and will help you in any way you can. 4.0 stars for being centrally located and having a local touch that seems to brighten your day whenever you find yourself here in Kailua-Kona for work or pleasure. Best bet is to come here when its not overly crowded to secure the best parking spots. This shopping mall isn't large by any means. It's your friendly neighborhood shopping center that just happens to be one of the best ones in Kailua-Kona if you are fed up with high resort prices. This is the next best thing when you shop where the locals shop on the island. 4.0 stars for the overall experience. Wal-Mart is close by, but you can't beat good service here. Support local! B+

We were finally ready to buy And had gone to another local furniture store. Not seeing what we liked or could afford, we headed to The Minds Eye and were greeted with a smile by Rachel Sherman. We explained what we were looking for as well as our needs In both style & quality. Rachel made numerous suggestions & we were able to find just what we wanted. We were able to make arrangements to have a furpture delivery based on when we sell our current furnitur there was no problem getting our furniture as all of it was in stock in their warehouse in Kona. We sold our rattan furniture quickly & the furniture was delivered 5 days later. Great service, beautiful furniture. We will be going there again when we are ready to redo the next room.
