After months of waiting and wasted phone calls - I received my 10 original vhs back to today, via Priority Mail. No note of explanation. Explanation or not, I'm THRILLED to get the originals back. Thank you for taking the time to send them back, Memories On Media. I'm very grateful. Hopefully, others will receive their packages returned soon. read more

I purchased a Groupon for Memories on Media. They confirmed receipt of my tapes in January, 2019 and I have not heard from them since. Groupon tried contacting them and I filed a complaint with the BBB. The BBB closed the case because the company would not respond to their inquires. Run far away from this company!!! I have lost 10 tapes filled with precious memories. read more

I have just spoken with the NC Consumer Protection Division of the Attorney General's office. Everyone ripped off by Memories on Media needs to file a complaint against them. The AG's office said that if they get enough complaints, they will assign someone to research and follow through on this company. If they find sufficient evidence, the AG's office may get involved and help resolve this issue. Please everyone, file a complaint. It's the only chance of recovering what's ours! read more

Please everyone that has a compliant, go file with the Attorney General's office of North Carolina. Maybe a the very least we could all get our tapes back. At this point that is all I want. If enough people complain maybe someone will help all of us. I know just like everyone else these videos have precious memories on them that can never be replaced. I found this news story as well. https://www.wcpo.com/money/consumer/dont-waste-your-money/woman-begs-for-return-of-vhs-tapes-of-grandmother Contact John Matarese WCPO Cininnati Channel 9. I bought through Groupon last January of 2019 & sent in 10 vhs tapes to this company. I did talk twice, once in April & once in September of 2019 to an employee who stated they were really backed up due to the Groupon coupon. Now, the number says it is no longer in service so can't even talk to anyone. I did finally receive my vhs tapes in the mail July 2020, but none of them were converted to DVD's. I suppose I should be thankful I at least got them back but it is very frustrating that a business can still be allowed to operate when clearly they are just taking peoples money & not even attempting to do the services they have been paid to do. The BBB has tons of complaints against them. I will be filing a complaint with both the BBB & Groupon. read more

I was also a "victim" of this crappy business. Thank goodness I got my tapes back today! I was really afraid I'd never see them again. I sent them a message every day through their website so I guess they finally got the message. Don't give up! read more

There is hope people! I got my tapes back in the original box I sent them in. The box was never opened. So glad to have all of my original tapes back. Now I'll look for a local business and do my research before I ever hand these over again. read more

I waited almost six months to get my tapes transferred to DVDs and returned to me. I was calling almost weekly to get status...Always some excuse. Some other people said they never received their orders and I was afraid I would never see these precious videos ever again. I will not use them again for future work! read more

I would give zero scores if I could. I am so upset. I sent them 10 videos to convert it has been 4 months and nothing. My father passed 9 years ago it is all I have left of him. Also video from when my kids were little and their birth. Not only do I not have converted video but now all my videos and memories are gone. I have been calling everyday and never get through, I have emailed and sent letters and nothing. There are not enough words to describe how upset I am. read more

I received my videos back in October (I sent them in in March). They were in the original box still taped up, never opened! I cried when I opened the box!! I had thought I would never see them again! I also requested a full refund from Groupon, which after a little arguing, I received. Good riddance!!!! read more

We are having our first family reunion and spreading of my mom's ashes this coming week. She passed away in September 2018 and in planning for this upcoming event next week, our plan was to convert the tapes and watch together, laugh, cry, and celebrate her life. It's been at least 8 months. I'm sick inside. I've had 2 calls with the company who identified me in their computer, thankfully. Will they ever deliver? Disappointed, frustrated, and like I said, sick inside. read more

Please write to NC State Attorney General if you have not gotten your originals back. Someone else advised the same and they helped me!!! I was devastated to find my calls to Memories on Media went unanswered and my emails to Groupon left me with no help or hope. I sent tapes in March. The NC State Attorney General sent several letters to this business and today 11/29/19 I got my originals back! I truly believe that if it were not for their assistance I would have nothing. I wish you all good luck as I know what a devastating feeling it is to have lost these! read more

I sent my tapes to this Company 5/21/2019. I received them back in the original box with no note or explanation on 9/8/2020. After having my tapes for almost 1 years and 1/2 I get the original tapes back without a refund. So essentially I paid for a service I never received. This company should be shut down they are just taking money for nothing. read more

I had them convert 10 VHS/Hi8 into DVD. When I came home and watched them, 2 of them were not mine. My ONLY wedding video I had Is now LOST. It's been 2 months and I haven't heard anything from them. I had to call them on 3 different occasions and give them my information 2x in order to get a call back. I wish I had never brought my family video's to them. read more

My heart just sank, reading online reviews. They've had my videos, including my wedding 30+ years ago and my daughter's adoption homecoming, for 5 months now. I've been told 3 times over those months, I was next in line and they were backed up, so I was patient. Today, I call, phone is "busy". But now I'm reading these reviews and think I've been groupon scammed. I don't care about the stupid $30 at this point, I just want my tapes back and feel like crying. :( read more

I sent the tapes from my kids growing up to Memories on Media. That was in December 2018. It is now August 2019. I've spoken to multiple people at this business by phone. Each person, including the owner, assured me they had my tapes and I would be receiving them soon. I spoke with them again 2 weeks ago. The guy I spoke to said they were finished and he was sending out to me by mail that day. Now, 2 weeks later, still no DVD's. The phone number is constantly a busy signal. I've emailed them with no return response. These tapes are irreplaceable. What else can I do? I originally bought this from Groupon. Can no one be held responsible for the loss of my family memories on tape? I'm very upset. I've obviously been lied too. How can a business do this to multiple customers and not have to answer for it? read more

AVOID!!! Sent my tapes to them almost 4 months ago. After receiving nothing back, I contacted them and spoke to the owner weeks ago. He was very apologetic and promised that they would be rushed to me and that he would include an extra DVD in the process. Still nothing!! This place is a total scam. If you value your tapes, deal with a reputable organization. read more

I had a Groupon for them, so thought I'd give it a try. My mom had a lot of home videos I needed to convert over. Loved the experience. The employees love what they do and it shows. The next time I need this done, I will use them. Best place in town! read more

AWFUL COMPANY!! Only send them your tapes if you never want to see them again. I sent them 10 tapes months ago after using a groupon coupon. Have yet to see a single one returned. Have spoken to the company multiple times. They act concerned, promise they are going to send the DVD's immediately and rush them, and I have yet to see anything. Worst part is that these were valuable family tapes that can't be replaced. Will do my best to make sure others steer clear of this disaster. read more

I purchased a Groupon to transfer my videos (including my wedding video) in March of 2019. I spoke with someone on 5/15/19 who told me I would be receiving my videos in 2-3 more weeks. They are now permanently closed and my memories are gone forever... My 25 year wedding anniversary is this year and I thought being able to look at the memories would be a great idea. I thought wrong. Now I'm not sure what to do. If I lived close by I'd go by there everyday..... read more

AVOID! Months after sending them my tapes (I have proof of delivery), they refuse to respond to emails or phone calls and I have received nothing. I fear that irreplaceable family videos are now lost. Terrible company. I've contacted the NC attorney general's office. read more

Do not take your memories to this place. My husband had planned to convert our wedding VHS (our only copy) to DVD and surprise me on our anniversary; he even paid for a rush order. It's now a month later and we have no VHS, no DVD, and they have our money. We've called back several times only for them to say "So-and-so isn't here; we'll call you back when he returns" because they couldn't find our irreplaceable wedding video. I am appalled at the horrible and unprofessional service of this place. Let me repeat, DO NOT TRUST THIS SO-CALLED BUSINESS!!!! read more

This "business" ignores their customers! I sent valuable VCR tapes to.be converted to. DVD. I sent my vcr tapes with tracking (very smart on my part). After two weeks of nothing I emailed to see when I would receive my dvd. I got NO response after another week! I emailed again. I was told that they received a bunch of orders but some didn't have return addresses. I immediately sent my a return Receipt copy. Again I heard nothing. After another week I phoned. Spoke with Owner He explained they had just moved and things were behind. He found my order ! He also said I would receive it before my trip 3 weeks away! THIS DID NOT HAPPEN. I've just received a notice that my order is on its way - two months later!!! BE AWARE read more

I purchased a Groupon for this company to copy my Hi8 and VHS tapes to disc. They received my tapes on 12/24/18. They confirmed receipt and the USPS tracking system shows they were delivered. Yet, after multiple phone calls and emails, they have not returned my tapes yet. It's is May 22, 2019 as I write this. Shocking. I even sent pictures of sample handwriting on the sleeves of other Hi* tapes I have in case they couldn't ID who they were from for some reason and I sent pictures of my daughters to help them find/ID my tapes. I have also tried to contact Groupon but they no longer take emails and I can't find a phone number to report the issues. I have stopped using Groupon as a result of this issue and I sent a certified letter to the company. If I don't get resolution, I will take legal action. I have also considered whether a class action law suit against this company makes sense given the large number of people that seem to be having similar issues. It's just unbelievable. I don't know if I will ever get my tapes or anything back at this point. RUN from this company if they are still on Groupon! Don't take a chance on your cherished memories. You'll be heartbroken like I am waiting and wondering whether you will ever get your things back. read more

I could not possibly be happier with the entire experience! I definitely plan on sending more home movies/VHS/8MM tapes to be converted. This is the best present I could possibly have given myself! Thank you to the good people at Memories on Media. Lisa J. read more

I had a very bad experience with Memories on Media. I cannot attest to the quality of the DVDs since I have not received them yet. I purchased the groupon and sent out my videos in November. I never received any communication from them that they received my videos. I was nervous since these are life memories in their hands. I called several times and left messages with no response. Finally I got them on the phone and they said they received my videos and provided me with an order update (which was inaccurate - said I would get my videos in Jan). Now it is February and I got the first email from them saying that my order is shipped but the email says it is shipping to the wrong address! Tried calling them again with no answer. We will see if I ever get my videos and the originals back. read more

I couldn't have been happier with my experience with Robert and his dad at Memories on Media. I rarely review things on Yelp but felt compelled to after my amazing experience. On Thursday I had called to explain what I needed (a VHS converted to DVD plus a few other film clips all added to a single DVD) and by Saturday morning the entire project was complete! The finished product went far beyond my expectations as Robert has great ideas and is able to customize whatever you are looking for (he added music, transitions between videos, a customized CD cover etc). His prices were also about 25% of another quote I had been given. Sitting in the production studio with Robert was a unique experience and ensured the video he was creating was exactly what I wanted. I would recommend them without hesitation! read more

Worst company in the world. They lost the videos my mom sent in (over 20 of them). They were videos of my childhood which were very precious as my father died when I was 2 so these are the only memories I have of him. When my mom sent the videos she called to confirm and no emails were ever sent to her or details you could pay more money to have them tracked or backed up (which if we are paying for the service anyway they should be protected!!). Over a month later she called to check and they said the videos were sent out a few weeks ago and should arrive shortly. Weeks later still nothing so my mom calls again (mind you no emails were ever sent to her) and they were rude saying They had never lost a package before and it would turn up. They sent the originals and the converted dvds back together (which is beyond stupid! Apparently an email is typically sent giving you the option to pay more money to have them sent separate-total scam!!! No emails were ever received. Over the next few months my mom checked in periodically with the post office and the company. The post office has been working with us to find them and the company was absolutely rude. They said it wasn't their problem and we could have paid more money to avoid this. When I called 6 months after the shipment date the employees, manager, and owner were extremely rude. They all yelled at me saying I wasn't their problem and to call the post office and there was nothing they could do. They had no sympathy or anything! The owner proceeded to hang up on me when I was trying to explain that it is their problem and we paid them and they did not deliver. DO NOT USE THEM!!!!!! My memories are lost forever and they don't even care. read more
