I looked at others' pictures and could now see the difference. Most of the rocks are barely covered by the water. The interesting part now seeing the perfect round holes in the rocks. I guess those holes were formed by erosion when the falls was in full power, gushing over the rocks. We certainly need more rain to fill the creek. It is quite an easy hike/walk to the falls. Some parts have bridges and steps to help navigate. There are picnic tables and benches in the clearing so you can rest and refresh. Bins are there for garbage. We didn't walk to the hatchery area as the heat got to us. Nice place. I will be back to check out the salmon hatchery next time and hopefully the waterfall will be at its usual size. Parking is available at the lot next to the baseball field.

I have taken many hikes around this beautiful lake and seen breathtaking views so you must go as well. The whole park is huge and I must say I could not explore in just one visit. So you got to come back to it again and again. Enjoy hikes with beautiful lake view but be careful around here as it is pretty wild and some of the trails are not for first timers.

Clean, scenic, peaceful with easy parking and great for all ages, we not only played on the zip lines and rope courses but also walked along the raised boardwalk along the ponds and checked out the community garden. We saw bat boxes and while we didn't wander the entire area, didn't spot bee hives or farm animals which I think would be awesome additions, particularly closer to the play environment so kids can learn even more about nature and animals. Huge group picnic site that can be rented from Metro Vancouver. Picnic sites are by the river and give you nice views up and down river and gives a place for the kids to get their feet wet. There is also the campsite on this side of the park. We've never camped there but they look alright...all on the river but not much privacy between sites. Beautiful trails take you east towards Fort Langley. Easy walking for all members of the family. Trail meanders through forests, old fields, and apple orchards....really nice. Widgeon Valley National Wildlife Area is located at Pit Lake in Pit Meadows. The only way to…read moreaccess the wildlife area is by paddle boat (Kayak or Canoe) as no motor boat accesss is permitted. To access Widgeon Slough you must drive to Pit Lake at Grant Narrows Regional Park. You then Paddle across the Narrows and into Widgeon Slough. Like Pit Lake, Widgeon Slough is Tidal and can cause real problems for people if they paddle in at high tide. Places that you could pass through before may have only 2 inches of water or none at all! This place is amazing though. There is almost dead silence wile in the slough. There is only the sound of birds, your paddle and maybe the odd plane above. There are a lot of water ways to explore in the Slough but one place to get to is the Widgeon Camp ground. It is Paddle access only but has 2 outhouses and multiple tent pads. No fires are permitted here at all and you can get huge fines if caught. From Widgen Camp you have arrived in Pinecone Burke Provincial Park and have a whole new place to explore.

Walk around the beach or to the pier and watch the sunset or have a barbecue with family at the family spot. Ample parking and very clean bathrooms. Walk towards the right of the parking lot for "secret beach" which is where migratory birds come during their journey towards the arctic(?!) . Super serene. Must go for everyone!

It was dry, because South Surrey and White Rock never seems to get as much rain as Vancouver and North Vancouver. From there we walked down the beachside trail with whitecaps and windsurfers on one side, and gorgeous beachside cottages on the other. I was glad to be wearing a good windbreaker because a mighty wind blows in off Boundary Bay. This is a popular beach area in the summer, but it's a good place for a flat, easy walk in the winter, too. You can go quite a ways along the trail, tracing the shoreline, or just a quick and out and back before dark.
