This is our second year coming to storybook experiences at the RVC location and it's truly magical…read morefor kids. Last year we got there early and entered right in time, this year we were 6 minutes late, they called us at the 5 min mark and i told them we were 1 min away. They were nice about it but next time i will leave a lot earlier due to traffic from the Bronx to Long Island on a Friday night. Thankfully we were dressed up and were able to enter quickly. My son loved this experience, from the allergy free cookie, to the gold coin and reindeer food, but most of all, the staff and Santa! This time my son went into the room when Santa was not there, after taking a few pictures he wished for Santa and Santa appeared! So nice and magical, i know the pictures will be just as great as they were last year! It does take a bit for the pics. Last year we went Dec 6 and got the pics about 3 days before Christmas. This year it was Dec 5 so i am expecting about the same. We are already planning to go back next year for their new experience with Santa & Mrs Claus ! Highly recommend booking early, this booking was made in July and the previous year in August. I plan to book this time with early release in January/February!

2.5 stars rounded down…read more Storybook Experiences offers a private meet and greet with Santa that includes photography. The session lasts about 20 minutes and costs $400. Like most families, we booked this experience with the expectation that, as a professional photography business, photos would be delivered in a reasonable timeframe, specifically in time for Christmas. We reserved our session well in advance for November 25, assuming that a full month would be more than sufficient to receive proofs, select photos, create Christmas cards, and share images with family, teachers, and school staff before winter break. Today is December 17, 22 days after our session, and we still have not received our photos. At this point, it is far too late to use them for Christmas cards, gifts, or even framed photos. This completely defeats the purpose of booking a holiday photography experience. What is most frustrating is that the business is fully aware of the seasonal time sensitivity of these sessions and still charges a premium price. When we asked if we could receive just one or two photos early so we could at least make a Christmas card, we were told no. While I agree with other reviewers that the Santa himself is wonderful--engaging, kind, and genuinely memorable for the kids--the overall experience does not justify the cost. Paying $400 for a 20-minute session with no reasonable photo turnaround time is unacceptable. In previous years, this experience cost less and photos were delivered in time, which makes this even more disappointing. From my perspective, this feels like a business that has overbooked, raised prices, and prioritized revenue over delivering on what families are actually paying for. A professional photography business should be able to manage editing and delivery timelines, especially during the busiest and most important season of the year. Bottom line: Great Santa, but not worth the price. If you are expecting to receive your photos in time for Christmas, I would not recommend this experience. I would not book this again. UPDATE: We received the pictures too late to make any cards (12/19 which was 24 days from our shoot date). The images look like they were edited by a child. Steam coming out of cups of milk? Random stars/sparkles placed on some of the photos though one just didn't have any. Cannot believe they want us to believe it takes over 3 weeks to add some stars to a picture. The business shared an apology video, which was 17 minutes long and made some grand plans however that requires spending more $$$$ at this business which I never would do again.

Updated 12/17 A…read morecompany that stands by their product but is willing to step back and place their customers doubts before their own speaks volumes. This is the type of service you get with Patken. I recently gave a 4 star review even though in the beginning i was all 5, because i was truly disappointed with the retouching of some of my pictures. But after making my concerns known, Doug and his team went back to the filtering boards and re did my pictures for me. For all future brides and those craving for your memories to be immortalized, Patken is the team for you. ______________ Beware this will be a lengthy review Every bride has a million and one concerns when it comes to planning their big day and no one ever wants to make a wrong choice. I was blessed to come around a beautiful soul, my event manager of the reception hall I chose. He sang praises of a photographer that captures the essence of your day and depicts it like a fairy tale. This is how we came across the Patken Photography team. We spoke to Doug Gordon, the owner of this establishment and met several photographers at the bridal showcases held by our vendor. It was a friendly yet professional ordeal. Which i loved, knowing that our wedding will be a headache and a half as any west indian hindu wedding can be. Patken offers a engagement shoot months prior to your event so you can be comfortable with their team and also the photographers can build a relation with you as their would be no awkward moments of "who the hell are you and no i don't want to swing off a tree". You will also receive a courtesy call from each photographer that is assigned to your event. Brides beware, Patken does not recommend having multiple photographers per event, but it can be added if needed. The best thing about the Patken team is their ability to feel like family. We were assigned Kevin, the indian wedding specialist, and Mike the best videographer out there for our first event. Kevin and Mike showed up hours before the event and as everyone knows this is when there is all hell break loose when it comes to an west indian event. They were able to mingle and become one of our own that made the day go seamless as possible. Vinny was our photographer for our second event at our reception hall and i couldnt have asked for someone better. Vinny was down to earth and a real trooper when it came to being with my mile long wedding dress and my impromptu outfit change. Or the never ending line of guest photos he had to take. (bored yet?) well those were all the good stuff, now on to my let downs. Patken offers a retouching service with all of their packages to create what they consider the perfect image. When your images are finished editing, Patken emails you an online gallery for each separate day. We were so overjoyed working with this team that in my mind i felt that they can do no wrong. But after seeing my images, the cracks in my "perfect photographers" began to show. My wedding ceremony pictures were a complete let down. What irked me the most was that we were assigned a photographer who specialized in our event type, so there should be no doubts in my mind that their would be images that would make my heart skip a beat. Ha!. I ended up with a lot of images that were overly retouched, which made it look tacky and fake. And I also have random pictures that I wouldn't even care for. I was truly disappointed. My reception day pictures was the only saving grace. These pictures were the reason that i would still consider recommending the Patken Photography Team. Vinny captured some real money maker shots. At this time, I have not seen my wedding albums as of yet. However, I will give an update on that process for those that find this review useful. On that note, I'll sign off by saying even a perfect experience can lead to disappointment. Thank you Patken Photography for giving us the opportunity to work along side of you.

I can not even begin to discuss the disappointment with this company and no one should feel…read moredisappointed on their wedding day. The photos I received from my wedding were terrible. Amanda was my photographer. The assistant photographer did a better job than my main photographer. The photos looked like an absolute mess. The getting ready photos that we're taken in my house, we're not set up by the photographer at all. She was just snapping photos from every angle with dresses, bags in the back, my bridesmaids in the back doing their own make up, all the bridal robes all over the place. When I brought this to their attention they used Covid as an excuse that they are unable to move things out of the photo and lack of space in houses (Funny - because my house has a ton of space). The whole point of having a photographer is to set up the scene if they didn't think the photo looked nice then she should've moved me to a different angle with nothing in the background. They also used the excuse that these were all candid shots. A candid shot is still set up nicely. I will The photographer put no creativity and energy into taking the photos, it was as if she just snapped a random 2000 photos and hoped for the best. When the photographer walked in, one thing I was specific about was where to take my detailed shots. I showed her the location of where I wanted them and trusted her that they would be done this way. She instead took it upon herself to use a different scene with my kitchen and microwave in the background of the photos. She was too busy in my house taking pictures of random things, like a half eaten tray of fruit, a tray of bagels that was already cut into, magnets on my fridge, and picture frames in my house instead of focusing on me and setting up the scene to make the photos look nice. Some of the most important moments such as the first look with my father, walking down the aisle with my father were messed up and blurry. These are photos that I would never be able to retake. I was actually concerned and wanted to bring it to the attention of Silver Fox and had a nasty response from Danielle, basically blaming everything on candid shots and Covid. I was then redirected to the manager and explained everything to him. I also mentioned why we didn't take more photos outside and his response was the photographer said it was cold out. My wedding was in March, obviously it was cold but I was the one in the dress and I was not complaining. He acknowledged that my photographer did remember me specifically telling her where to take the detailed shots and instead did it in a different place with the kitchen as a backdrop anyway. I was told that since I am feeling this way he could edit 20 photos for me. After spending almost $6000, being extremely disappointed and embarrassed to show people my wedding photos, I do not think that editing 20 photos would correct how I felt. It was the way the photographer did the job. Apparently after several emails, the photos are up to Silver Fox studios standards. That says a lot and anyone that is reading this review should know that apparently they have very low standards. I got better pictures from my friends iPhones the following day.

Fast forward to when we got our wedding pictures back and everything went downhill. Prior to our final meeting we were given a "shot list" that included pictures that are taken and we were given the opportunity to add anything else. Well, we kept it as is with the exception of a picture or two. The main photographer assigned to me (the bride) is highly recommended but honestly, I would think 1000 times before recommending her. She dropped the ball on so many pictures. Failed to capture A LOT of the typical pictures; not to mention they were on Silverfox's shot list. I asked for a picture with my MOH/sister and was told we would take them later..I mean, excuse you but we're taking this picture now. Then we were taking family pictures and she felt the need to single out a very close relative - making her feel bad. Again, they are my pictures and if I'm not kicking anyone out of my pictures, why are you?! Our videographer was no better. Our second photographer was honestly the better of the group so kudos to her. When I took my concerns to the Silverfox team, specifically the General Manager. Although he tried to work with us, we were still very underwhelmed. He agreed that a lot of coverage was missed and although he recreated some important pictures, I'll always know they were recreated. He "comped" our thank you cards; however, we received the first set and they were truly unacceptable. They were stained and the corners appeared burnt. Once I sent him pictures of them, he agreed that they were horrible and agreed to create another batch. Well I went to pick them up this time and to no surprise, they were still unacceptable and I'm truly embarrassed and refuse to send them out. I reached out via email and phone and didn't hear back. I asked for the contact information for the owner and once again, the GM put me on the back burner. Of course they were paid and are happy; however, we were not happy with the service they provided. The team at Silverfox should be held accountable especially when they provide a shot list and lack in producing the pictures and for the unacceptable thank you cards they produce. I will NEVER recommend them to anyone. I could go on and on about our experience with them.
