They were able to schedule me an appointment for internal detailing and car wash that day almost two hours after requesting service. They arrived on time and prepared and were fully upfront with pricing which isn't the lowest but you definitely get what you pay for. You handle services through Rod who is friendly I just wish the levels of detailing would've been more accessible on the website and explained during scheduling. I wasn't too satisfied with how it looked at first but they went back and did their best to make it as clean as possible for the service I paid for. I feel they went above and beyond. I find them VERY reputable, trustworthy, customer satisfaction is huge, and it was so important for me that they be on time and they did that. read more

In December 2025 I had a fall that broke my legs and then had complications that kept me in hospitals and care homes until end of March 2026. Unfortunately I had groceries and damp dog urine soaked laundry in my 2020 Rav4 that sat for over a month before a friend was able to remove them but by then interior was moldy all over and the smell was horrific. The car then sat empty for another couple of months. After explaining all this to Melvin and sharing photos Melvin said he could help me and explained the process for remediation of mold and smells. Other mobile auto detailing bids didn't respond with in depth detail or didn't respond at all. Communication was timely and thorough as he explained what the cost would be. I especially appreciated the very quick response and the ability to schedule for the next day. The outcome was ultimately well done with the inside of the car truly looking like new upon completion. The one challenge was that the conclusion after sunset did not allow for a quick drying and required a 30 minute drive with windows down to avoid overnight moisture beginning to smell. I reached out to Melvin Auto Detailing after accidentally spilling over 3 gallons of water in my car, and they were eagerly willing to take me in same-day, which I really appreciated! They came right to me, no need to drive anywhere or leave my car with them, and did an amazingly thorough job cleaning and drying everything out as best they could. When they were done, the car smelled super fresh and clean and looked spotless inside. Unfortunately, it happened to be during that incredibly heavy day of rain in San Diego recently and despite their hard work in those crazy conditions, the car stayed pretty wet for days afterward. I struggled to fully air it out, and it still has a bit of a muggy smell if I keep the windows closed. To their credit, they followed up by text a couple of days later to check in and offered to come back and re-treat it -- super professional and kind of them. At $229 for just the interior cleaning felt pretty steep, but given the mobile convenience and the quality of their work, I can understand it. First and foremost, I want all readers to know, my only intention of creating a Yelp account was to get offers to have my car detailed. I do not like Yelp's business model of having people provide reviews, and then they make money off people working free for them. BUT, because I feel so strongly about this particular service, that I have decided to keep my Yelp account in order for everyone to know about this Auto Detailer. 1. They responded promptly and specifically responded to my exact requests. 2. Melvin arrived on time the day of the detail 3. I showed him which parts of my car needed the most work. I had not detailed my car for a few years and there were food stains, children's paint stains, and other stains and marks on my seats. I told him no other detail company has been able to take the stains out. He PROMISED me that he is able to remove all stains. 4. When he knocked on my door to let me know that the detail was complete, I was not expecting what I saw. I was ready to point out parts that were not done right, because I am super particular and OCD about my car. 5. Other than when I first purchased my car in 2017, brand new and a few months afterwards, my car has never been SO CLEAN...ever. 6. I also thought "maybe when the car is wet it will look like this, but when everything dries there will be spots and marks." Nope, two days later and a completely dry interior, and the car is immaculate. 7. I do not like leaving reviews overall, but I just feel as though he has earned the accolaides and deserves to be recognized, as well as to let others who want to have their car look as close to perfect, to be able to do business with him. I booked an express detail which was $149 for my Honda HRV. The process was quick and I received a call quickly confirming my requested appointment. I also appreciate how everything is laid out on their website. When I booked I tried asking about the price considering the HRV is essentially a sedan. I was told that I am charged the same as any SUV though the Honda HRV is barely even a crossover. However I went forward with it hoping that it would be worth it. In the end, while the detailer was friendly kind and prompt I don't think the service for the size of my car was a good value. There were still spots on my side view mirror and streaks on my windshield and bugs on my exterior. The cleaning itself was what I would expect to get at a local hand car wash at a basic+ level. For this level I would expect to pay between 60-80 dollars. Overall I was underwhelmed with the service and value. read more
