I have been seeing Daniel now for many years. He is my go to whenever I need a pick me up. He initially helped me address many digestive issues as well as panic and anxiety. He is a true professional with a calming energy. My husband has also been to him many times for his back pain and most recently he has been seeing my dad on a weekly basis after my dad suffered a massive stroke in July 2024. My most recent visit was for a shoulder that acts up on occasion and have found his care to be effective in providing relief without being invasive. I was diagnosed with Lyme disease in 2015 and was treated for two years after that. Unfortunately, this disease left my body a total wreck! Well, I'll start by saying this was only the second time I've had acupuncture - the first time was just an easy "happy hour" acupuncture when I was on vacation. But there were a couple of issues that brought the star level so low. I bought a yelp special: "$75 for $125 worth of service" I went to the website and read that initial visits were $75 and follow up visits were $50....so I bought the special thinking I could try it out twice and not spend too much money. Great! My first visit I told Dr. Melton my pain issues and also that I was really not looking forward to being poked with needles. He was nice but not overly warm and friendly. He poked my back all full of pins and it wasn't too bad - then removed them 20 minutes later, as is customary I suppose. Not much to say about the first visit - it wasn't horrible, and it wasn't great. First issue ** My second visit he seemed even more impersonal than the first time. Don't get me wrong - he was friendly enough .... it just seemed like he was going through the motions of his "chores" so that he could be done. I didn't feel like he was invested in me as a person. Anyways, this time the pins HURT! I was reflexively bouncing off the table with several pin inserts; I couldn't lay still if I wanted to! I told him they hurt and he asked if they were bearable. I said they were, but that they were uncomfortable, and we decided to leave them. I lay there for 20 minutes with my back just aching, the pain never subsided like it's supposed to. It even pinched a little sharper when he removed the pins. The second issue ** is when I was leaving my second appointment, he said "that will be $75 for today." What!? I questioned him, asking about the fee's and the special I had bought only a week or so before. He said, "oh yeah, I changed my prices." What!? In the week and a half between the time that I bought the special to my second appointment, he had changed his prices?? The website still had the old prices. This just didn't sit well with me; I like up-front, candid pricing. Besides that, my back ached the entire rest of the day. I'm not a big fan of acupuncture, but I think it can help sometimes .... since my visit with Melton I have seen another acupuncturist and had a much nicer experience. read more

I've been to a handful of acupuncturists from Cali to NYC since I started seeing Daniel in 2010. Still, I always manage to make an appointment with him when I'm in town. He's successfully treated me for everything under the sun: emotional lows after a death in my family, various pain issues, menstrual related symptoms, flu, allergies, stress, anxiety, digestion, insomnia, the list goes on. I will start by saying I have never had acupuncture as I have a slight fear of needles. I went to see Danny for tendonitis in my elbow. I had a session and the elbow did start to feel better right away. Well, I scheduled a second appointment for a week later and in that week I really tweaked my right shoulder working out. I couldn't do any exercise with my right shoulder on Thursday...well Friday I went in for my 2nd treatment. I told Danny about my shoulder and he said he would focus on that as well. In July 2012 I went through a stressful time in my life. I saw several doctors and had 2 MRI's trying to figure out what was wrong with me. Stanford finally diagnosed me with severe migraines that caused facial numbness. Desperate for relief, I started seeing Daniel in December 2012. Run don't walk to see Daniel. He is helping me through a injury that was not getting better through traditional methods. After only 2 sessions I have more progress than I've had in 2 months of other unsuccessful routes to heal this injury. He is so kind and knowledgable. I cannot recommend Daniel enough! I strained my neck muscles really bad when I was working out and was in extreme pain. I couldn't sleep, drive, or even bend over without feeling the effects of the injury. With two little kids to take care of and a full time job, I was struggling to make it through the day. I had always wanted to try acupuncture for some chronic neck and back pain and for anxiety, but for some reason or another never had. I was desperate for relief but couldn't fathom going to the chiropractor (my usual go to) when in so much pain (I didn't want anyone touching my neck let alone adjusting it), so my husband recommend I go see Daniel. Daniel had previously worked on my husband when my husband had an intense headache that he couldn't get rid of. Daniel had helped him immensely with just one treatment, so I figured I would give it a shot. Daniel was able to work me in immediately and was very accommodating. He took the time to listen to me, review my history, and explain the basics of acupuncture in an easy to understand way. He saw that I suffered from back/hip/IT band pain and offered to work on that in additional to my neck. I had previously seen a chiropractor for my back and had gotten progressively worse while undergoing treatment over the course of a year (as seen on my xrays), so I was somewhat skeptical as to how my body would respond. I used to be a marathoner but had to stop training due to the debilitating pain and the affect it was having on my quality of life. I decided to go for it, and immediately after the first treatment, I felt relief in both my neck and my back. Since that first treatment, I have become a regular patient and can report that I no longer have neck pain and my back/hip/IT band pain is almost gone. In additional to eliminating pain, acupuncture has helped me manage my stress and anxiety, and I am sleeping so much better. Daniel is phenomenal at what he does and it truly invested in his patients' well being in all aspects of life. He is personable, caring, and professional. I am so extremely happy with the results that I plan on continuing my treatment to make sure I never get into that painful situation again and to help me continue to manage my stress and anxiety. I had some dental work done on my upper right jaw. The amount of knovacain I took in left me with a case of Bells Palsy, basically my facial nerve connecting my upper lip and nose was not working. I read that acupuncture has helped nerves regenerate at a faster rate so I contacted Daniel to get his opinion on treating my nerve. I did 5 treatments with Daniel and my nerve started to regenerate.
