The cooking oil--which in other places seems to have been around for a while--was also FRESH. That makes a difference. SO tasty. Most of their business seems to be carry out. No problem. It was pleasant to eat our fish and chips at the tables in the central plaza of Stratford--where we could watch the life of the town go by. Someone else mentioned that the portions are LARGE, and while it sounds impossible, one piece really is plenty. I ordered two pieces, and didn't even order chips (just sponged off the kids' portions--they didn't miss 'em). I still had a piece left over for lunch. But if we'd been smarter, we'd have ordered less the first time, and stopped by again for another fresh, hot, and tasty serving.

Most have too thick a batter, too greasy a batter or horrible fish inside. However we were pleasantly surprised and genuinely excited when our delivery came wrapped in newspaper. This is the Fish n Chip experience I remember! The chips were nicely thick cut with some skin, evenly salted but not overly and of course they gave us malted vinegar a must have for this treat. The fish, we got Cod to play it safe having never tried this place before and weren't disappointed. Flakey white fish on the inside with a nice thin coat of batter that was crispy at the edges. Likely would have been crispier all throughout had we gone there to eat instead of delivery across town but either way it hit the spot at a decent price too!

They are doing good business -- they were already filling up as soon as they opened, and by the time we left (around 1pm), they were completely full! I had wings, and my friend had the daily sandwich and pasta salad. While she was happy with the taste and portions of her food, I cannot say the same. The wings were quite overseasoned, so the overpowering flavour was salt, and the overcooked meat did not taste fresh. The price was reasonable, and the service was alright, though. The menu looked like it offered a good variety.
