I'm in vintage heaven and am very pleased with the selection of fashion in this magical place! The layout was so carefully though out and planned in such a wonderful way. This shop is full of surprises and I feel like 'Alice in Wonderland' who randomly lands in some peculiar world, is super curious, and ready to explore... ...From colorfully dressed mannequins that look like they want to start conversation, to randomly parked bicycles and darling chandeliers, Italian comic books to classic music albums, from statement pieces to statement signs and quotes on the wall, and from vintage suitcases serving as shelving, to scarves displayed inside a vintage refrigerator! Each room has a theme and it's like entering into new world and one room leads into another with a completely different theme. It feels like the layout was designed not just by a fashion stylist or interior designer, but also by an artist who produces modern and contemporary mixed-media art. This place is very museum-like. The women's coats and sweaters are great but the men's are pretty great, too, and I chose an oversized (for me!) men's coat that had wool from Scotland and made in Italy. They have a nice selection of leather, shearling, wool, and puffer coats, and a small selection of furs. There are plenty of jeans, trousers, athletic wear and sports-branded pieces, a collection of hats, handbags, jewelry, lingerie, and even a whole room just for military/army and camouflage wear. There's stuff here for the kiddies, too. Everything for the most part is in great condition, you may only see a few missing buttons here and there but nothing a 99 cent sewing kit or your seamster/seamstress can't fix! For us fashion folks, we understand the importance of being intentional with marrying each piece together for a happy fashion union, while making it look effortless. This place really helps me do just that. I read some of the reviews and am thinking they have certainly achieved transformation in a good way after the not so good reviews. -Yes, it is pricey. But there are plenty high quality pieces and designer wear that kind of makes it worth it. -Yes, it has the vintage smell, that's what a washing machine and dry cleaning is for after vintage shopping, guys. -It's got a nice vibe in here and the staff seems grateful for every visitor. They don't bother me if I want to spend an hour trying things on and deciding what I want. I had a full blown fashion show and there were plenty full length mirrors and decent lighting to take photos and send them to friends for yay or nay feedback. This is also a great place to start if you want to begin (or continue!) your vintage shopping journey and are in Firenze. If you are looking for cheap treasures this might not be the place but if your hope is an epic score like great boots or a timeless designer coat or jacket this is the place. Beautifully merchandised and just full of room after room of lovely things, Melrose Vintage is a gem. It's on my yearly visit must do list ever since I found a perfect set of vintage motorcycle leathers for a great price, which if you are female is a never ever happens kind of thing. The staff was really friendly and knowledgeable. I'm sure there are places like this in the USA but I have yet to find a place I am more likely to find something really special and unusual. Cool vintage shop! Ideal shop for vintage hunters. They had a lot of cool vintage cycling jerseys in here, that is if your into the Fixi culture. However, I could not imagine me buying something used in here, because there are too many dam amazing leather bag shops that I would rather spend all of my money on in Italy. read more

Worth walking through, not a spot where you'll find much worth buying. Melrose has a funky, 70s vibe decor -- very attractive from the outside. Lots of expensive vintage clothing, most of which seems to be in poor condition and/or very old. Walk in if you're going by, but I've never had any luck here. read more

Cute vintage shop I meandered into on my way to dinner with friends. They had great deals on leather jackets and coats. I loved the amount of highly quality sweaters they had (most ranging from €30-€40). I ended up purchasing a tan Lacoste cardigan for €40 in inclination of staying warm during the winter time (but I suppose that was my way of justifying purchasing it). I liked that their goods were not only affordable, but the fact that the workers have a more hands-off approach (I've found that most vintage shop owners love to hover- thus only resulting in discomfort and a premature departure). Also loved that they played the Supremes while I shopped- it truly complemented the atmosphere nicely. If you're looking for a quirky cardigan or something warm for the winter I'd highly recommend this location. As for other objects of desire, they don't really cater to much beyond articles of clothing (unique shirts/jackets/pants), so if you're looking for a purse or typewriter I'd go elsewhere. read more

Today my wife wanted to go in this place because she loves these vintage stores. There was some good clothes and bikes and things. My wife decided she had to use the bathroom while shopping and so she walked into the bathroom to relieve herself. There was no lock on the door, so I stood guard to ensure nobody walked in on my wife. A moment later the store owner walked past me and slammed open the door and started yelling at my wife while she sat on the toilet saying that it was not a public restroom. She continued to hold the door open, embarrassing my wife and making scene (although nobody else was in the store to my knowledge). The owner said we should ask before using the restroom, which is located in the middle of the store, not some back room. I told her to put up a sign of its a private bathroom. We've heard horror stories of Italy's customer service in general, but this is the only time I've experienced it. Now I know why we were the only ones in the store...atrocious service. read more

Very cool setup - TONS of cowboy boots, Combat boots, leather jackets for me, American 70's - 80's vintage clothing, and lots for men. Found women's selection VERY limited, unfortunately. Also, prices (typical for Italy, as I now understand it) were quite high, i.e., NOTHING under 40 Euros, including the cheapest-looking $2 unlined, polyester shift dress from the 1980's. For the money, much better options to purchase at the other 'couture'-type vintage shops. But fun to look around. read more
