As a veteran network news producer who has worked with many photographers and videographers over the decades, I was immediately impressed by the level of forethought she brought to the job. So much of great photography is in the preparation. About 75% of the work happens before you ever press the shutter. Execution becomes the easy part when you have real talent, and Atali has both. She planned her coverage with intention, strategically positioning herself throughout the event. She seemed to be everywhere at once, and her engagement with attendees was consistently professional and warm. Attention to detail is rare in a fluid environment, especially when the rundown shifts on the fly. She kept everyone looking their best during group photos, to the point where you might have thought she was the stylist or the publicist. When I later saw the final images on social media and the event website, everything I had observed that day was confirmed: Atali is skilled, reliable, and genuinely passionate about her craft and her clients. I still work in television and have since referred media networks and individual colleagues to her every time I'm asked for a photographer recommendation in DFW (for headshots, events, and branding). In entertainment, media, public relations, and advertising, your reputation is everything, and Atali has earned an excellent one. During that call, a "questionnaire" was briefly mentioned as a planning tool to help organize the shoot -- it was described as something that could help her plan with ideas like making a theme with a memorable item like a bulldog, color palettes or set ideas.i explained to her I just want minimalistic white background, in a few of my business outfits navy, white and black and one scene sitting at a desk. No cutesy themes. After payment was made, I received a lengthy questionnaire that included personal business questions about myself, my company, and my competitors. This requirement and level of detail were never disclosed prior to payment, and the questions felt unrelated to the simple, minimalist concept I had described (white background, desk scene, and outfit changes). When I expressed discomfort and asked to proceed with a simplified shoot, telling her these questions were a bit much and what more does she really need - my email was ignored and the session was canceled with only a few days notice. She then attempted to retain $300 of my payment for "lost studio time" meanwhile not taking accountability for not disclosing that this questionnaire was mandatory prior to taking payment, and not accounting for only telling me it was mandatory with cancelling on me 3 days before the shoot. I also lost a full day of work that had been set aside for the shoot as well as lost money on items such as clothing had bought and rented for the shoot. Additionally, the tone of communication became condescending, and she made personal attacks about my character that I "don't follow instructions " and am "entitled," which I found unnecessary and unprofessional as it shifts from discussing business terms to judging character, which is never acceptable in a client-provider relationship. Although a refund was eventually issued, it was only offered because I pointed out she had no legal grounds to withhold any of my money and it was her decision to cancel on me. the experience left me feeling disrespected and misled about the requirements and communication style. I hope future clients are given full transparency about all pre-session obligations and are treated with professionalism throughout the process.

We…read moremet Joy originally when we did our engagement photos the year prior to our destination wedding in Hawaii and we hit it off immediately. We had already booked a Hawaii photographer but knew that she had to somehow be a part of our day too so we hired her team for video. BEST decision ever. They are so genuinely sweet and friendly. They hung out with us with all of our family at the hotel the days prior and it was such a blast. As far as the actual video/photos- they do a absolutely phenomenal job and are so good at calming nerves and making the whole process enjoyable. We went in thinking it would be awkward but by the end she hypes you up so hard you feel like a pro almost immediately haha. During the height of the Covid crisis in the dfw area…read morewe had to reschedule our wedding due to local government preventing wedding from being held and our venue was forced to be closed during our date. So we were forced to reschedule and we got our new date that worked for us with the venue and the other vendors however the new date didn't work for Joy, so we were generous and said don't worry about refunding the deposit just keep it because we imagine you have had a lot of cancellations/reschedules and she waited to see if our credit card would be charged for the full payment. However after the lack of communication from Joy (not responding for several days) we froze the credit card that way it wouldn't be charged. Then she tried to come back and tell us that we should move our wedding to a date that worked for her or pay her the remaining balance of the her fees. And we politely mentioned to her that at no fault of our own that we were FORCED to reschedule our wedding and the new date was all that would work for all of the vendors and venue. She demanded yet again that we pay the full amount. And the only reason we got her to understand that we were not going to pay the full amount was because we pointed to her contract (that had unfair contract language that would never stand up in court) and she came back and never apologized or sympathized just simply said I cannot force you to pay.. Joy was very unprofessional she tried to be underhanded and take advantage of us as her customer. I would strongly discourage anyone from signing any contract with Joy because she has unfair contract language and puts you at a disadvantage as a customer.

I was looking for updated headshots and photos of myself for professional purposes, but wasn't certain how to do that, what to wear, or where to be photographed. Maile came prepared with a full but efficient agenda, and even provided recommendations on what to wear. I've never had professional photos taken, and Maile was excellent at making me feel comfortable in front of the camera. The results are better than I could have hoped for, and were received in under 48 hours! When we realized how awkward it would be since we were clearly not a couple, she had great ideas that wouldn't look like we were on an engagement shoot. She has an amazing eye, great sense of humor, open to suggestions and really makes the entire thing fun. We even hired her for my brothers wedding and working with her in a more "serious" setting was also great. She wasn't intrusive, didn't steal us away for too long for post ceremony photos and had so many unique ideas. She made us feel like we were old friends just hanging out having a party.
