When I was introduced to Michelle, I was 1-year postpartum with my first baby and not feeling like myself, let alone beautiful. She challenged me to have my portrait taken. Even though I dreamed of having that experience, I felt hesitant and compared myself to other more beautiful woman, questioning if it was right for me. I had a new body, and not necessarily one I loved. She reassured me that her team would give me a much-needed day of pampering and promised to create the most beautiful photographs I have ever seen of myself. Michelle delivered on that promise. One portrait is now hanging as a center-piece on our wall and my baby will grow up looking at it every day. When I've aged or even passed, he will cherish that portrait and remember the version of his mom he loves most, the version who was young, vibrant and confident. That alone is worth the experience. I also get to look at that portrait everyday and remember to love myself. It reminds me to value myself as a woman, as a wife, as a mother and as a small business owner. I get to admire and envy my own portraits everyday, and that is everything. Aside from her amazing talent as an artist, she is also an amazing person. I can't say enough good things about Michelle. She loves connecting with people and I've made a friend for life. She showed (and continues to show) me a lot of respect and genuine kindness. She is exactly the right person to entrust with your portraits. read more

No, I would not recommend this photographer. I am extremely disappointed. She took forever to get back to us, which was like weeks. Finally, when we were able to see the proofs she had, we were extremely disappointed, sadly was only able to pick but a few favorites. She kept repeating to us now remember these aren't touched up, that it just seemed very odd and unprofessional. Not to mention, I wanted photos of us to look more natural, not all filtered. My make up was lighter than my neck. Would've been nice for my face to match my neck at least. But via Zoom call on the computer thumbing through. They just looked horrible. It rained that day so when we were outside doing the so-called garden shoot in the rain. Ugh along with a large deposit to which didn't receive any of it back or any photos. She and I had several text back-and-forth on my end goal to work something out. I had only picked four or five pictures asked her for a smaller package. She said that is not something that's available. They were extremely expensive packages i wish i would've checked that out before I even made an appointment. Definitely not worth it so disappointed when I saw the pictures. My daughter actually didn't want any of them, so I was left to try to figure out which ones I would even consider purchasing in a package. She didn't offer smaller packages apparently. After like I said several text messages back-and-forth. She said if I didn't pay on September 1, if I remember correctly, like $1600 for a package my file would be deleted. I would be out my $500 deposit. with nothing to show for it. Just simply a waste of time and money to i wouldn't recommend this lady to anyone. Apparently in her mind it's OK for her to run a business in this manner. Extremely disappointed if you want a great Photographer lo read more

You are the magic behind that camera! You are comfortable and relaxing to work with. You have a way that just makes this experience melt away the anxiety and puts anyone at ease. Thank you for showing me the beauty I still have! Being in pain every day can definitely mask the beauty inside. It can make you hide even from yourself. Thank you. For showing me that I am not just medicine and doctor visits. Thank you for showing me that I am not just a mom. Thank you for showing me that I am not just a wife. Thank you for showing me that first and foremost, I am me. I am still full of possibilities. My disease can't take that away. I will win. Always and forever. You, lady, are forever in my heart. read more

Drinking heavily while shopping online is a dangerous combination. This is how I ended up at Boudoir Betty's with an expired Living Social coupon. I repeat: After a few margaritas which tasted like they were made with Everclear, I purchased a package for a boudoir photo shoot when the only undergarments I own look like it's been the dog's chew toy for the last 15 years. I arrived at Michelle's (the brain behind Boudoir Betty) with a bag full of pathetic underwear and a pair of black pumps that look like it'd been stolen from a myopic nun with bunions. Fortunately, Michelle has a variety of outfits for sizes ranging from 6 and up, as well as jewelry, and pumps. The studio's at her house and upon arriving, there's a sign outside that says, WELCOME SUSAN! which was a cute touch. Michelle's photo studio has several sets, all very tasteful - the obligatory bed, complete with the gauzy white cover, a chaise lounge, a burlesque backdrop, a 50s style kitchen, including period appliances (very cute) - and just in time for Valentine's Day - a cute Valentine's backdrop filled with pink and red hearts with inspirational cutesy messages. The photos depicted in the boudoir shoots are all tasteful sans nudity. Like Michelle said, "It's more PG Playboy than Hustler." Although we'd never discussed this, I'm sure Michelle meets up with some really interesting (read - idiotic) people who have no idea what the hell they're doing and why they're there. As I struggled with corset after corset and the fishnets and pathetic underwear choices I'd brought, thinking maybe I should just throw on the costume I wore for Halloween in the third grade (a ghost costume, which consisted of a white bed sheet from head to toe with the eyes cut out) Michelle was very professional in helping me put on certain garments ("It goes THIS way"..."Um...I think it's upside down..."). Michelle's attention to detail was also wonderful, as she made sure the lighting, the pose and angle were perfect for every shot. For every set, you get to do an on your back, on your side, on your stomach and kneeling shot, depending upon the type of set. She was also very mindful about camouflaging problem areas, with certain angles, cover ups and hands. She will also retouch the photos you choose afterwards with filters. Total time for hair makeup and photos - three hours. Michelle also posses some very awesome pieces of lingerie. For example, a gorgeous emerald blue corset with intricate embroidery and FEATHERS. Or a very retro and pretty lace bustier. It was like raiding a very cool person's lingerie closet. With the package, you can opt for makeup and hair in house or on your own. Michelle or her mom will do the hair and/or makeup. But all of this doesn't come cheap, ladies. Fortunately, Michelle sometimes has promotions which she broadcasts through her FB page from time to time: https://www.facebook.com/BoudoirBettys. There was a price calculation snafu at the end of the shoot, which made the entire experience six hours. But in the end everything was worked out. While there are many boudoir photo places which may be larger and operated out of a commercial storefront, I think Michelle's strength is in putting women of all ages and walks of life at ease, so they can feel better about themselves and their bodies. No matter what reasons a woman has for doing a boudoir photo shoot - to please her husband, boyfriend, mugshots - in the end, it's an empowering experience for herself, as she'll get to see her most beautiful self, bound and contained in yards of scratchy fabric, gussets and metal hardware. ...and for those who have a problem seeing their beautiful selves as I've described above, Michelle also offers wine, and one's free to bring her own Everclear margaritas. read more

This is the first time I have ever done anything like a boudoir shoot and now I'm addicted! Michelle is amazing! She makes you feel so comfortable and my photos turned out incredible! She made me feel so beautiful and now I have these photos for the rest of my life! The business is ran out of her home in Everett/Mill Creek, the studio is very welcoming, decor is great and there are many options too! Her Mom is the assistant, she did a great job on my hair. First off, I am sad there is no option to give 100 stars! I had thought about having boudoir photos done for some time and just never pulled the trigger. I am so sad I never did this sooner. I left my ex of 7 years and wanted to do something fun and empowering. This was just the cure! I searched online for a couple days and stumbled across Boudoir Bettys and based on the phenomenal reviews and photos online I scheduled an appointment with Michelle. She is so GREAT! My hours were not really compatible with hers and I couldn't take time off of work. She was so nice and let me come on her day off! At that point I was already really impressed. She answered all questions I had leading up to my shoot and was very helpful. I showed up for my shoot looking like a wreck with no make up, big frizzy hair and sweatpants haha. Her and her lovely mother did my hair and make up and transformed me into pure... gorgeousness! I could not believe it. I felt totally comfortable and relaxed the entre time! Nothing about the experience made me nervous or self conscious in the least. Her whole set up is gorgeous. I wish I could live in her studio :) She helped me pick and outfit with a mix of what I had brought and what she had there. She took my first two photos and showed me, they were stunning. I literally could not believe that was me. The hardest, yet my favorite part was going through all the photos at the end and picking out my favorites. IMPOSSIBLE. They were all spectacular and made me feel like I belonged in the centerfold of Maxim magazine, seriously. I will definitely be ordering more shots from my shoot AND I will be back to do this again. I just feel very empowered by the experience and really great about myself, hints the ginormous poster size photo I have hanging in my bedroom. Michelle is fabulous, the experience was unforgettable and I recommend everyone do this! You will not regret it! read more

Michelle is Pure Talent and Skill, both professionally and personally. In 2016, I embarked on a new Career and knew I had to find a photographer that could help me brand, well..... "ME". This portrait would be splattered across all my media outlets and on all my advertising documents. To say the least, I was nervous and intimidated. I looked at a lot of traditional photos out there. They all seemed cold and dry. without warmth and I was afraid my nerves would translate into the photo. I found Michelle online a year prior when I was looking for local Photographers and decided to make an appointment to see if she could help me :) She was THE best choice for elegant, professional photos! The Studio in Downtown Snohomish makes you feel comfortable and warm. I feel very awkward in front of a camera, and she helped me relax and laugh. Almost EVERY time I give out a business card, I get compliments. I have given out her name so many times, I cannot count, anymore! Its been a year and a half, I may have to book another session, soon. Thanks so much for sharing your happiness with the world, Michelle. You made a huge contribution to my success! read more

I wasn't sure what to expect but from the moment I got there, til the time I left, I felt beautiful and pampered. And my photos were better than I ever thought they would be- GORGEOUS! I can't wait to go back. Go see Michelle for your Boudoir photo shoot!! read more

I was nervous since this was my first time doing a boudoir photo shoot, but Michelle made me feel very comfortable and confident. The pictures turned out great and were exactly what I wanted, and I got to view them immediately as well as later on my computer. I would highly recommend her and the whole experience! read more

Boudoir photos are something I've always wanted to do, but it felt too indulgent. But a deal came up for Boudoir Betty's and I thought I would look into it. Once I read the website and saw her Mission Statement, there was no hesitation to get it. I knew I would be in good hands. All correspondence prior to my appointment was warm and professional. Michelle is patient and caring and the end result makes you feel confident and wonder why you would ever doubt getting them done. I can't say enough kind words. While she is 100% professional, it felt like I was at a friends house. I walked into her studio feeling nervous and she put me at ease straight away. After a really fun, natural feeling photo shoot, I got to view my photos that day. She guided me through my shots with excitement and helped me through the purchasing decisions without pressure. Clearly, she has a way with people and is talented at her craft. I have told all my friends about the experience and am thinking about booking a bachelorette party with her. I would highly recommend her and the whole experience! read more

Boudoir Betty's is just the prescription to boost your self-confidence and make you feel like a beautiful and sexy woman! I initially did the photo shoot as a surprise present for my husband, but it turned out to be such a fun and rewarding process for me. I consider myself an 'average' woman. I've had two kids and along with that the added padding, stretch marks, and varicose veins on my body. But oh my goodness, after seeing my unedited photos I was so moved by the beautiful model I was seeing in the photos and could not believe it was me!!! Michelle has a talent for capturing your beauty. After seeing a few edited images, I was floored. She does not edit you to look like someone else, but just to enhance the beauty that you have. She is able to play with the lighting and shading and can really make the photos even more amazing. Michelle is an artist. I was nervous about the photo shoot since I do not feel comfortable scantily dressed, let alone to be photographed this way. But it was so much FUN! Michelle makes you feel comfortable and I just did not want the experience to end. She poses you and tells you how to express your face, she makes it easy for anyone. Michelle did my makeup which I think is a must. The makeover alone was a great experience. The prices are very reasonable for the quality photos you receive as well as the TLC. If you are looking for Boudoir photos for yourself or as a present look no further. You will not be disappointed. I can't say enough praise about Boudoir Betty's and I am so thankful to Michelle for making me feel so feminine and sexy. read more

Working with Michelle was a fantastic experience. I've worked with many photographers, and another local boudoir photographer, and Michelle is the best! She made me feel sexy, beautiful, and confident. She is very fun to be around and I immediately felt so comfortable with her. I went with my best friend, we both had our hair done by Michelle's talented (and also very fun!) mother, and Michelle did our makeup. Those two add-ons really helped make a great experience (and great photos!!). I couldn't be happier :D read more

This was an absolutely fantastic experience. Michelle was so great. I had my hair and makeup done at the studio and all I can say is WOW! Michelle did a great job making me feel comfortable during the entire shoot. I was worried I'd have to know how to model but she arranged me into each pose making it very stress free :) I'd definitely recommend this for anyone - such a confident boost. I had an amazing time with Michelle at her studio! Her decor was perfect for the mood, and her ability to bond and create a comfortable atmosphere is unrivaled. I haven't seen the retouched images yet, but after viewing the raw shots, I can't wait to see more of her magic :-) Her words of encouragement and experienced direction made every shot and pose feel substantive. There are lots of local photographers who claim to do Boudoir-style, but Michelle is the best you'll find and is worth every penny. I highly recommend getting her album in addition to your session! read more

Michelle is fabulous fun and an amazing photographer! She made me feel really comfortable in all my get-up and the photos were stunning--she has great skills for bringing out the best in her subjects. I consider myself very average looks-wise but she makes you feel (and look) like a rock star! Plus, she was very flexible about scheduling to get me in before I moved. And I would definitely recommend having her do (at least) your makeup--it makes such a difference (I had my hair styled just prior at the salon). She gave me some great makeup tips to boot. You'll be very glad you went to Michelle! read more
