There's an old western town museum as you head out to Gunnison. That would be interesting to check out. Western style buildings from days of old. On the edge of town there's an Ute Indian Museum and I saw they have a botanical gardens. It's a resting place on road trip town but not one I'd stay to visit as it didn't have old world charm in its downtown. I'm sure you can find interesting places but I didn't like the vibe.

Fair enough but, they should tell you what the difference is between the tours, because I would have liked to be able to step in and see more. I get bulk feed from them as well as the lick tubs and various other supplies for livestock. I live a good hour away and I could go to closer places but these guys take such good care of me that it's worth the drive. They usually beat other store's prices! I had one little issue where an employee ordered me the wrong bulk feed and when I opened the tote and saw it wasn't correct, I called them and they bent over backwards to make it right for me. For only $6, you can see a huge amount of artifacts and history collected into one place. They recently redid the building, so it's very new and clean inside. There's a nice winding path that takes you all through the Ute Story, from the creation and Bear Dance, to interaction with other tribes, and the eventual coming of the white man and their put into reservations. It's very touching and somber, but enlightening as well. The Utes roamed, loved, hunted and camped nearly all the Rocky Mountains we play in now. Do yourself a favor and see the history that was here before many of us came, and still lives on to this day!

We also did the tour and beer tasting, which was so informative, plus getting to see the hop plants up close was such a unique experience! Audrey is so knowledgeable and easy to talk to. We are bummed to not be here on a Friday since that's live music night. The thought of being able to grab a beer, listen to music, and then just walk back to our tent is so tempting. You can book the campsites directly on their website. Overall I would absolutely recommend this place and can't wait to come back!
