Dr petts and her team are always willing to listen to concerns and explain everything in great detail. They are usually pretty much on time for appointments-which is a huge plus. I was advised there was not a female provider that I could see. When I mentioned scheduling elsewhere with a female provider, I was advised that I could no longer see the provider I was scheduled with at this clinic, and would need to pay $200 for canceling my appointment that they made me cancel because I was uncomfortable. The receptionists are very rude and unprofessional. Once you mention going somewhere other than to their clinic, they treat you terrible. I would advise going LITERALLY anywhere else.

Anyone reading this review and considering this office for either themselves or their children, please know that this is the most respected ENT clinic in the area. My son has very complex medical problems, so unfortunately we are very familiar with a laundry list of specialists. So trust me when I say I know my way around a good office and a bad office. I know the difference between a good provider and a bad provider. Dr Young takes care of our little boy and he takes care of pretty much every medically complex child in our area. In fact, I just recommended him to someone today, which is when I saw the shocking (yet solitary) 1 star review while going to copy and paste the phone number. I'm familiar with other people who work in this office as well. The people that work here really know their stuff and their hearing booth is state of the art. So happy to have a wonderful ENT clinic near us!

Terrible time getting reimbursed…read more We saw Dr. Young who provided fine care. Had to pay out of pocket- nearly $6,000- as my child was not on our insurance yet. It took 3 months to get reimbursed despite insurance also coming thru 2 months prior. Got the run around from office staff with several conflicting excuses-- put on a reimbursement list, check is cut-should see it any day, billing isn't in house, etc. Finally getting to the point of absurdity and blatant disregard, we had called several days in a row, leaving voicemails and not getting anywhere or thru to anyone to help, at our whits end. Front desk must have gotten in touch with billing that was apparently 'closed' and the FINALLY sent the funds back to the card I originally paid with. Pretty easy fix for the absolute nightmare we went through to get repaid for a service rendered in early June. Would not recommend.

She does take insurance which is amazing. As far as I know she's the only wholistic medical professional in the area that actually takes insurance. I called the office and was referred to Susan, who offered to walk me through the process over the phone. Still, I was not able to get access. Now, here is the very amazing thing. Sensing I was still frustrated, she offered to have me come in and she would help me step by step. I told her I'd be there in 10 minutes. She was actually waiting for me at the front desk when I arrived. This woman was incredible. She was so kind and patient and calm, which is exactly what I needed today. Susan was able to spot what the issue was, which allowed me to access my account. Problem solved. Susan didn't send me a link to click on or a toll free number to call. She just sat down and helped me. She didn't judge me. She didn't make excuses. She saw I had a problem and knew I needed her help. West Des Moines Ob/GYN is a world class medical practice of experienced doctors and nursing staff that has provided my medical care for over 20 years. I can't imagine going anywhere else. But, today, I needed Susan in billing.... and she really came through for me. I wish I could return the favor to her.
