I don't know what it is about me, but I'm generally willing to walk a fair way for decent chicken…read more And the chicken here is pretty decent. Both in the sense that it tastes fairly good, and in the sense that they (apparently) get their chicken free-range. But there is one fairly major drawback to coming here, and it's not the chicken and it's not the walk. It's the wildlife. If you're eating on one of the tables outside, you'll have to spend every five seconds fending off acquisitive seagulls. But inside or outside, you'll also have to put up with the Fox. Well, the Fox FM. They've got a PA system which plays inside and out, and fairly poor taste in radio stations. Oh well, they still do good chicken and chips.

When I pointed out the grubbiness of the place One of the young men who told me he was the owner said it is checked every week by O,H &S He wasn,t at all open to constructive criticism and wanted to argue that there was nothing wrong with the place. I told him I would be reporting him and the unhealthy state of affairs .He couldn,t have cared less. Don,t go !!!!

Well, it was certainly worth the trek because the burgers were acrtually pretty good, as were the chips that come with them. Okay, they don't offer beers with their burgers, but then again that doesn't put me off a place. It also has a pretty decent room out the back where you can also consume your fare as well, which once again is a bonus, especially if you don't have anywhere to take them away to.

Most people only occupy the store for a fraction of a minute; both when they place the order and then when they come back to collect . It's full of busy people who scurry away with their respective take-away back home. Recently I had a 17 minute wait on a basic renegade burger. This was more to so with the guy who came in and collected a massive order- we're talking something so big it could shift the earth of it's axis, due to the concentrated mass. Once he and his around 48 bags of food had left the store, I ate and quickly. The burger tasted pretty good and healthy and slightly above run of the mill, but the bun was very crumbly and seemed to be of shitty bread. I might come back another time, but I won't rush to do so. Good burgers nevertheless and better than a lot, worth checking out if you want take away.

Foxes Den is like the fancy grown ups version of a classic. You're immediately greeted by a row of brightly coloured, fresh salads with interesting combinations for those wanting to feel virtuous. To the right, roast chickens with a choice of lemon and rosemary or Moroccan spiced. Roast vegies, fat thick-cut chips and chicken gravy are other tempting options if the salads aren't doing it for you. They also have rolls (including gluten free) on hand with plenty of chicken roll combinations. Think I might have to try the jalapeño one at some point. Foxes Den clearly caters for people that are invested in fresh produce and healthier options than your standard fast food fare. This is a perfect grab-and-go option whether you're feeding one or a ton.
