Before staff will even answer basic questions or assist with scheduling, callers are required to locate their insurance card and provide a verification reference number--every single time. This applies even if the patient has already been seen and the information is already on file. This policy creates an unnecessary barrier for patients and caregivers who are simply trying to coordinate medical care. Most healthcare offices maintain insurance information on file and update it when needed. Requiring patients to repeatedly produce the same details before even having a conversation is inefficient and not patient-centered. As someone coordinating care for a parent living with Parkinson's disease and significant mobility limitations, this process is especially problematic. When managing appointments for individuals with serious health conditions, the focus should be on facilitating care--not adding administrative obstacles just to speak with a staff member. With an aging population and increasing healthcare needs--particularly among baby boomers--systems like this will only create more frustration for patients and their families. On a hinky intersection so be careful getting there. Staff was not the most welcoming, but passable, despite the sliding glass (aka unfriendly) border wall separating them from us. The front desk/wall process did not take long once you got thru. Wich can take awhile. Typical depressing wall decor and paint job. But in each case the staff seemed to be on top of things, and didn't make you wait more than 15 minutes. Maybe it was just my timing. Inside the offices, staff were nice, accommodating, pleasant, and didn't waste your time. If you need to use the rest room, they'll give you the jailer's key that get yous into the bathroom in the hallway (which is otherwise locked).

The second visitor lot is very large so no issues other than a longer walk if you are down always COVID HYGIENE - they have hand sanitizers by the elevators on the first floor and basement floor where I went. OFFICE ENTRANCE - very clean with ample seating. They employ strict adherence to wearing masks and they try to keep separated as much as possible (albeit 6' apart is a challenge) CHECK IN - the receptionist was very professional and quick despite all the papers you need to sign etc. she kept the line moving WAIT TIME - I came very early in the day so was taken without an exorbitantly long wait. CHANGE AREA - small but very nice and private. I didn't have to worry about leaving any stuff. STAFF - everyone showed great pose and were friendly and helpful.

Which they said they had and would call me back for an appointment. 10 days later I called again and they said they had the referral but were too busy to submit it to my insurance and it would be done "eventually" 2 weeks after the referral was sent I called my insurance company, who told me they don't have anything for an MRI authorization! Some were OK, while others were awful! By far, having my mammogram performed by Norwalk Radiology Consultants was the BEST experience I ever received. To begin when I called to schedule my appointment, a PERSON [Melissa] answered the phone. I mentioned that I did not have a mammogram in over 10 years. We discussed my Medicare insurance. I was informed a mammogram screening would be covered but that an ultrasound, if I wanted one, involved a fee since Medicare no longer covered it as part of a routine screening. I opted for the mammogram screening without the ultrasound. NRC immediately sent a thank you email to me for booking my appointment with them. They provided me with an electronic medical record release form that I forwarded to my prior radiologist. When I arrived for my October appointment, Trea and Erica warmly greeted me. I simply handed my driver license and insurance cards and I was set! No reams of paper nor e-forms to fill out. Rather I was handed a beautiful pink insulated tote bag. How very nice indeed! After a very brief wait (I arrived early for my appointment), Liza walked me to my private dressing room and then I went for my mammogram. Although my appointment was on a Monday afternoon, NRC called my home the following day at 8:59AM with my results. Wow, what service! In addition, my results were sent to my PCP. Super !!! When I arrived home, I turned on my computer and was pleasantly surprised to receive another "thank you" email for my visit. She paid for an uber from campus, checked in and waited in the waiting room for over 45 mins. When she approached the desk to check on wait times, she was told "Oh, we don't take your insurance anymore. We'll cancel your copay. You can just leave." This very sick young woman left in tears. Unacceptable to let her sit right in front of you for almost an hour and not tell her she could not be seen. Outrageous, callous front desk behavior. Strongly suggest you go somewhere else.
