am very disappointed with the customer service I received at Meininger. As a traveler who likes to stay in hostels, my experience with Meininger is one of the worst hostel/customer service experiences I have ever had. Due to a change in my travel plans, I had to modify my reservation (postpone my stay by a few nights). On the night of my reservation, I arrived just after 6 p.m. (which the policy states is the cut off time for the refund) and the front desk staff wouldn't honor my request to cancel my reservation and provide a refund because I was a few minutes too late. They were extremely rude and unpleasant. I was planning to reschedule my stay for a night later in the week but after receiving such poor customer service, I found somewhere else to stay. In addition, the hotel lobby smelled terrible and didn't make the experience any better.
Since my trip several weeks ago, I have been dealing with their very unhelpful customer which reinforces my decision to choose at a different hostel. I will never stay at a Meininger hostel. read more
