We simply wanted to know what it was for, so we asked. Apparently it was for additional cream. Our issue was we hadn't been given the choice whether to have it or not, and we're not told it was an additional extra. When we queried it we were shouted at and told we were obviously not European. Not that it should matter but we very much are European. We left the cafe with the waitress making very racist remarks to us - as if we had no right to question the bill.

Refreshing delicious gelato on a warm day - what a treat…read more While my wife and I were in Vienna recently, we needed a snack and found Zanoni and Zanoni - especially when we saw they had gelato. They indeed had some incredibly delicious gelato. I had the Peach and my wife had the Apricot. They both exploded with incredible flavor. We each got 2 scoops and were pleasantly filled and cooled, and quite glad we stopped in. My only regret? I wish I had gotten 1 scoop of Coffee to go with my 1 scoop of Peach. Be sure to check them out yourself when you go - especially if you go when it's hot.

Right after dinner, we headed over and as other Yelpers have mentioned, flavors aren't in English, but they will gladly translate them for you and they are generous with letting you sample different flavors. The flavors are unique and on point, as in no overly sweet aftertaste. I highly recommend the kiwi or poppy seed, both were very good. I really liked the pumpkin apple one as well, seasonal flavor? It's also very affordable, I believe my single scoop in a cone was about 2 euros or less. If you're in Vienna, you should definitely give this place a try. My friends and I stopped in on a cold and rainy day, but it was worth it. I would love to come back and try some other flavors!

I would have never thought to make ice cream with pumpkin seed oil, but there is olive oil ice cream, so why not pumpkin seed oil ice cream? Pumpkin seed oil is now one of my favorite ice cream flavors in Vienna. The poppyseed flavor was not strong, but had a good texture. The elderberry flavor had an intense tang that was very refreshing for summertime. The three flavors were very different from each other, but it was absolutely divine to try them together.

You can really tell you're dealing with hand made ice cream, nothing mass produced or processed here, that's for sure! It's truly artisan ice cream at its best.

The family-run business is located a block away from the Wien Mitte mall, so it is very easy to walk to when traveling around the city. Vidoni's ice cream shop provides unique and delicious ice-creams. Some of their flavorful creations are Earl Grey (English black tea), Raspberry Violet, Orange-Saffron, Chocolate Nut Brittle and coming soon - Peanut! This one of a kind shop also takes consideration to everyone's special dietary needs -- the ice-creams are marked according to what kind it is: Vegan, lactose-free, organic, sugar-free, nut free, and gluten free. I got to taste test ice creams like Black Forest cake, Turkish Honey, Amaretto, Pistachio, and Cafe Latte. My top favorite? Turkish honey! It had such a nice sweetness to it. The people behind Vidoni also take a lot of care in the creation, process and presentation of their ice-cream, investing in powerful machines to pulverize and turn their simple ingredients of milk (or dairy free milk), sugar and other fruits/herbs necessary to create delicious and appetizing ice-cream. They focus on organic ingredients wherever possible -- some ingredients are specially grown fruits and herbs from gardeners on their team. Plus, if you're in Vienna, you can pre-order their ice-cream through their web shop or app, and if you order within the 1st or 3rd district you can have your ice-cream delivered to you, while in all other districts there is an Ice Cream Van that drives around. So check out Vidoni if you are around the area and want to try out some tasty and unique ice-cream flavors!! http://americaninvienna.com

We grabbed a seat outside (which I imagine is nice in the winter, as it has blankets to make you as comfy as possible) and a waitress was with us within a couple of minutes. We grabbed a couple of beers before grabbing the CAT train (it's in a REALLY convenient place for travelers) and enjoyed our last hour in Vienna. It's a great place to watch the crowd's go by and grab something quick. The owner made us laugh as he came out a couple of times to tell us his menu was really nice (we assured him it probably was, we just didn't have time to stop). A decent place for a pitstop before or after travelling - but be warned, they DON'T have a toilet!
