I got really into rugs a few years ago, but then I got a puppy during the pandemic and she did quite a number on them. I was overwhelmed with the process (and price) of getting them cleaned, but as soon as I reached out to Megerian they were incredibly helpful. They coordinated the speedy pickup/dropoff, assessment, cleaning, and rebinding of a few of the torn edges. John is super sweet and I highly recommend you support this local business for your rug cleaning needs. read more

The principals were always reachable, very responsive and explained what needed to be done and why. My 40 year old rug was returned to me in beautiful condition ... new fringe and fabric repairs. The rug colors were more vivid. My rug looks stunning and I would highly recommend this group for all your rug cleaning needs. If you have the time, their videos are very interesting, and you will see that they have a long history and substantial body of knowledge in the care of hand made rugs. read more

Megerian Rug Cleaners - Cleaned and repaired Persian rug. - Carpet Cleaning Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

Rewind to a few months ago when Hurricane Ida flooded my apartment here in Manhattan. I was distraught that my bedroom completely flooded with inches of water and in turn it almost destroyed a very large, expensive sentimental runner rug that's been in my family for decades. I was on a very tight budget and in a hurry since the aftermath of the flood left my rug extremely stinky and still very damp. I got a few quotes from some places I had searched for on Yelp and I cannot say enough amazing things about this company! The gentleman on the phone worked with me on the price, was prompt, friendly and employs an amazing team of guys who came to pick up my very heavy and stinky rug and dropped off the nice and clean one (make sure to tip them, they work super hard)! My rug arrived ~3 weeks later and in perfect condition! Could not believe it. Thank you again to this awesome company. I chose you because you worked with me on price during a very difficult time financially and emotionally, and your staff both in & out of the office were delightfully friendly and very professional (took their shoes off without me asking upon entering my apartment). Couldn't ask for better service! read more

Great job! Reliable, got rugs sparkling! Some of the spots were very deep and they got everything out

Excellent job repairing a Chinese rug which had suffered moth damage. Looks good as new after their cleaning and binding.

Someone at Megerian ruined my sheepskin rug, and never called to let me know that it was "finished" or anything. I tried to pick it up months later and they said it would be another week (before I knew it was ruined). When I finally went to get it, it had been sitting out in the open gathering dust, the dirtiest I have ever seen it. Glued to another piece of fabric by a sticky yellow "conditioner," torn and greyed with dust. I realized they never called because they ruined it. This was once my favorite thing I owned. I understand that mistakes happen... but for a 100 year old company that claims to clean tons of animal skin rugs (I called to make sure) - I was shocked that this could happen. They said that they would call me back about getting me a replacement but they haven't tried. Apparently the animal skin specialist wasn't there when it arrived... nonetheless unacceptable. Pretty heartbroken about this experience. read more

Mergerian cleaned and repaired three carpets and they did excellent work. I have a Persian carpet from the 1930's that had water damage and a hole about 12 inches in diameter. Mergerian repaired it expertly. They also repaired the fringe on a Bokhara carpet, around 9X12 feet, and it looks like a new carpet. I bought it around 30 years ago. I was very pleased with the pick up and delivery. We had a small glitch about the delivery date, as the repair to the Persian took longer than expected, but we worked it out. I recommend this enterprise very highly and from now on, will only use Mergerian for carpet cleaning. You will be very happy with this firm. read more

This place is a fraud. THEY DID NOR CLEAN A RUG THEY BROUGHT BACK AND FORTH FROM TGE WAREHOUSE THREE TIMES. They cannot clean a rug for their lives and forget about them getting back to you about when it's going to be returned because they can't do that either. I'm gonna sue these guys because they charge so much to clean a rug and then they bring it back journey because they can't figure out what they have in their inventory and what they do not The man who answers the phone doesn't know what he's talking about and then when you speak to the other guy he doesn't know what the other guy knows which is nothing. The guys who Deliver the rugs know that this company is a fraud and guess what call when they brought back a rug they brought it back THRRE TIMES and I thought it could not possibly be that they would bring back a rug that was not clean. Guess what: the rug was not clean and it smells the same and they had the nerve to charge me for individual stains. This company brought sales into my house when I trusted them to clean a rug it doesn't seem too much to ask given me for figure prices they charge for a few rugs. I will be putting up a few more reviews because I don't deal with fraudsters and liars and incompetence. I get back at them so there you go. read more

Wow! I'm honestly shocked by how great my rug looks after being cleaned. Purchased at a second hand store where it appeared very dingy and dusty. After a cleaning from Megerian the colors are so vibrant. Totally worth the price! read more

They picked up my rug as promised. When they gave me a price quote and I asked why it was higher than what they originally told me, they showed me pictures of my rug pointing out where the stains were. I hadn't even realized they were there because they were covered by furniture. I paid a little extra for a higher-level of cleaning and I'm so glad that I did. My rug came back looking absolutely beautiful. The whole rug looks lighter and every stain is gone. I highly recommend them. read more

Start to finish, we had a great experience with Megerian, which rejuvenated my two large old rugs. They washed them, removed stains, and did a lot of reweaving to repair moth damage They are excellent communicators, responding quickly and with detailed quotes breaking down the various kinds of work needed. They identified additional things to be done (fringe repair and remediation of faded color), which I wanted to leave till next time for budget reasons, and there was no pressure to do the work now. The pickup and drop-off were easy to schedule, prompt, and the guys who did it were happy to work with us to get the position just right on reinstallation. I will only use Mergerian for carpet work in the future. read more

I started using Megerian a decade or more ago after a friend of mine told me about them. I could not be happier. Mark and his team are consistently professional, communicative, and knowledgeable about rugs and how best to care for them. I have many fine rugs and wouldn't trust them to anyone else at this point. Every time I get them back after a cleaning they look beautiful-their luster restored and whatever repairs needed done flawlessly. I am so happy to have found Megerian and can't recommend them highly enough. Thank you Mark, et al, for helping me take good care of my rugs and for your consistent care in treating/cleaning them. Cheers! read more

I had spilled red wine on our rug over a year ago and despite trying every tip I could find online, I couldn't get the stain fully out. Then we got hit with a big storm in early September and our basement flooded. I thought the rug was toast. It took a bit longer than I may have hoped and I had to be more proactive to get status updates, but that's only because they got absolutely overrun from other customers that got flooded. In the end, the rug came back cleaner than it went in and the wine stain was gone! It was also reasonably priced and the convenience of them picking it up and dropping it off cannot be beat. Highly recommend. read more

I would not use them again. My rug smelled like it just had been vacuumed and they did not deliver when they said they would.

Megerian knows their stuff! I brought them a large yak wool rug I had purchased in Asia in the 1990s and then stored for 20+ years in a basement, and Megerian did a superb job restoring it. They shampooed and cleaned it, and then sewed a sleeve on the back so that it could be hung like a piece of art. Their pickup service made things easy. I opted to retrieve the cleaned rug myself, so I had the chance to check out their facility (which is pretty cool), but they would have gladly delivered the rug back to me. I'd certainly use them again. read more

Great place to get your rugs cleaned. I dropped my middle eastern silk area rug and it looks amazing!

Better than Sears and all other companies I have ever tried!! I wasn't too sure about this place but my experience with Mergerian's was really good! It was easy to schedule a pickup and their team showed up on time to pick up the rug! Received a phone call in a week for delivery and it was delivered right on time. Made my rug look brand new again! Great choice!! Would definitely recommend to others! Don't hesitate!! read more

From start to finish the professionals at Megerian made our rug cleaning experience pleasant and easy. We have three dusty, dirty area rugs that we needed cleaned. One wool, one synthetic and one cotton blend. We chose Megerian because of their positive reviews on Yelp. They responded to our inquiry within minutes to set up a pick up appointment. They communicated beautifully throughout the process. Our rugs came back fresh and gorgeous. I forgot what color they really were lol. They also sold us some great new pads to go under the rugs. We will definitely call them again. Highly recommend. read more

I have some very old antique Persian rugs that needed restoration. They came quickly pick up the rugs and then gave a thorough assessment. I think their prices were reasonable for the time taken and quality of the work, hand done. I would definitely use them again for further restoration. They were also very, very pleasant to work with and take pride in their work and reputation. read more

Megerian Rug Cleaners - Afghani rug restored. - Carpet Cleaning Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

I recently needed to get a very dirty kilim rug cleaned. I got quotes from several local businesses and chose Megerian because of their fast communication, good price, and great online reviews. I was very satisfied with my experience. Communication was thorough throughout: I had several phone calls with them where they answered my questions regarding various cleaning services. Turnaround time was good, and they communicated well about the delivery. Only hiccup was that the delivery was slightly outside of the indicated window, but since they called me to let me know that seemed acceptable. The rug's in much better shape than it was, and I would definitely call on Megerian again. read more

It was a bit pricier than we expected, but they did an excellent job on our extremely dirty rug. It looks new!

This place is the best- they absolutely crushed it! They got right back to me with an accurate quote for a thorough cleaning and blocking and even offered me a nice rug pad as an add-on in case I needed one. (I didn't need one this time, but it was nice to know they offered this service.) Everyone I spoke with at Megarian was professional and easygoing; they picked up the rug at my home and delivered the clean rug--with no need for a reminder-- at the exact date and time they promised they would. I'm seriously blown away by their level of customer service, and their expert cleaning ability. They came highly recommended by the people over at breuckelenberber.com (these people know their rug stuff as well, and as a result, I'll do business with them in the future- look them up too!) Check out the attached photos. I knew our rug was dirty, but I barely recognize it now- in a good way! The colors are so brilliant. I seriously do not think it looked this good the day we bought it. Thank you, Megerain. I wish you could be in charge of our healthcare. Let me know if you decide to take that on. You are everything I love about the old Brooklyn. read more

They did a really nice job rebinding & cleaning my antique Chinese rug. Will use them again

We took our beloved wool area rug to Megerian for cleaning and repair after 7 years of use and abuse. Between our lax policy on shoe removal and a mischievous dog determined to make his messes exclusively on the rug, it needed A LOT of work. The colors had faded in areas and run together in others from attempts to spot clean, there were stains that wouldn't come out no matter what we tried, and the fringe was tattered and dingy. Mark and the team at Megerian went above and beyond. From pick up through delivery everyone I spoke with was courteous and professional - I was struck by just how much they truly cared about our satisfaction. Thanks to the team at Megerian, our rug has been transformed from embarrassing mess to the showstopper it once was and we're not just happy, we're thrilled with the incredible job they've done. If you are wondering where to take your rug for cleaning and repairs, seriously look no further. read more

Great find if you need your rug cleaned or repaired. High quality work done at fair prices!

Megerian rug cleaners are FANTASTIC. This is the third time I have had my rugs cleaned by Megerian. Not only do I get the benefit of supporting a Family owned NYC business, but my carpets look incredible. The customer service was excellent, the people were lovely, and everyone could not have been more helpful. We moved from Brooklyn to Queens, and the guys from Megerian picked up the rugs at our old apartment and dropped them off looking brand new for our new place! Many thanks! I can not recommend highly enough! read more

My family and I were very happy with the cleaning of Megerian rug cleaners. From the moment we called, they were professional, knowledgeable, on time and courteous. They went beyond an excellent job cleaning our Persian rug which looks better than it has in so many years! The best thing is that their prices were very affordable and reasonable. They also spent time to tell us how to provide proper care and how to keep it looking good. I highly recommend this company and will definitely be contacting them again for our rug cleaning needs. read more

Great service from Danny Megerian and Sarkis to clean and repair a rug that's been in a friend's family for half a century. Turned out great and, the repair, which was a surprise, was really appreciated. So much so that we've brought another rug to be restored, this one having been stained and in storage for over 50 years. Can't wait to see them work their magic on this one! Will be looking to purchase new ones from Danny as well. read more

OMG! What can I say about this company, other than, don't ever rent a steam cleaner or hire a steam cleaning company for area rugs. These guys are amazing. They pick up and deliver, they hand wash, they restore, they can pretty much do anything to your area rug that will help you maintain it. I've had my area rugs cleaned by steam cleaning companies and I've always hated the fact that they leave and the carpet is still wet!!! If the carpet is wool and it's wet, it kinda smells like ass, so why did I have it steam cleaned?? And pay to have a stinky carpet??? Idk, but never again. I wish that I asked the guys names who picked up and delivered because they were super nice. And Anna at the office was also super nice. Thank you for doing a great job on my area rug and thank you for being so thorough and professional. read more

My rug was dead. I mean what my dog and dirt from the Queens streets did to that thing. Frayed, *smelly*, faded, worn in sections. And Megerian made the rug like new - better than new. Quoted an astoundingly eye-popping price; much higher than the rug itself. I declined their services.

I have had multiple rugs cleaned by them in the past. The reservation process was seamless and they took their time to repair one the fringes that my Jackson ( my dog ) chewed up and damaged. They are the only people I will trust as I have had bad experiences with other companies. Thanks Megerian !!!! read more

I read reviews and took a chance to have my rug cleaned and repaired. And now I must leave a review. Megerian let's you know what needs to be done and why by phone and then sends an itemized email. You have the option to do any or of all the suggestions. An example: they mentioned binding the sides which I had never considered but it made the rug look brand new. The colors are bright and crisp and after repair the color touch up brought it back to its origin. Pick up and Eli dry excellent and all work done in a timely fashion. Really terrific service. I spoke with Naomi over the phone and got some basic information and determined it made sense to drop my rugs off rather then wait for pick up. I am really glad I dropped my rugs off! Naomi and the whole team were so incredibly helpful and patient. One person helped me get my rugs in the door. Then Naomi came over. She explained the process. When I showed her how one rug was fraying she called over the rug "specialist." A terrific, knowledgeable, patient man. All three of them spent as much time as I needed going over the options. The specialist explained my options very clearly and even gave me a little tour of the blocking/stretching area. I could also see the room where the rugs were washed - a rug "car wash"! I'm really glad I chose Megerian. I am cleaning two Persian rugs and one Indian made rug. The rugs belonged to my parents. The rug specialist said the two Persians are 80-90 years old! I really didn't know how to choose a company to clean the rugs. I read reviews and settled on Megerian, in part, because of the number of years they have been in business. I am so glad I did. I believe my rugs are in good hands! read more
