When I had my next one, I refused it because it hurt so much. By my last appointment, I was so stressed out over having to get the check done that my BP was high and although I was only 1cm dilated he sent me to the hospital to be induced. Upon admittance to the hospital my blood pressure was normal. The hospitals on call OB checked me and stated I was red and raw internally and likely had a bad yeast infection, which is why it hurt so much. My first birth experience was traumatic as I had to get emergency c-section due to baby positioning, the epidural started wearing off during stitching closed and no one would tell me how my baby was and why he needed resuscitation. The trauma I went through could've been prevented if the doctor actually paid attention and inquired why I had such a reaction to a simple cervical check. Terrible that a dr that had never met me before saw something my dr didn't.

He is almost 90!!!! After he went to back to had surgery I went to the place "advanced women's care" which is a joke because there is nothing "advanced" about them. I was told this same day to buy the depot shot to put in. Yes, I myself had to buy it unlike plan parenthood who supplies it for you. After leaving the hospital I called Advanced Women's Care and said I'm still good to buy the depot and you can put it in today right? They replied "yes." Well when I got there a dif lady said she refused to give it to me because the timing was off?! Previously a different girl said I could have it put in a day or two after my period and this evil lady who said the opposite said "no!" So I wanted my money on the depot shot I obviously can't return. I just called them willing to pay the bill because I got a final notice even though I have been off work 11 months but I go back today. The billing department hung up on me the first time. The second time the lady answered and I explained the situation and first thing I said was I WILL pay this bill only if you take off the depot and I was going to ask the late fees. She wasnt listening to my situation and she had the dates all wrong and she said there was no record of me getting checked for endotrimisiosis or the depot shot!?!?!?! Instead of being an adult and listening to why I'm so beyond upset for wasting my time when I could have stuck with plan parenthood she was like I dont get paid enough to listen to you. That the problem you don't care and dont listen to why I'm so upset so I said maybe you should quit your job if you cant help me and do your job and listen so she said she would and hung up. What a joke. You're suppose to be an adult and work with me but you were against me lying from the second you got on the phone not empathetic from the second I told you my side of why I am beyond upset. So here's another 1 star or actually 0 star review. I want my money back for the depot and my late fees off since I was off work for almost a year and I told you guys this over 6 months ago. Like I said get your crap together. I hate liars. She wouldnt even let me send her the picture of the depot shot. So now I'm taking this to adults who CAN do their job. NEVER go here! I was paralyzed 3&1/2 years ago BUUUUUT I'm learning to walk again and no one has experience treating a case like mine. I've been on every mental health drug there is and I'm suffering from horrible pain. I've had 30 screws put into my back, I'm missing 4 vertebrae but got a 5" titanium block where the vertebrae USED TO BE oh and the twpo 20" rods, two mounts and 8 more screws don't qualify me for pain management. I was hassled every time I requested a referral for pain management. last time I was asked "what about all the other referrals?" they didn't take my insurance is the answer but I'm the jerk for getting frustrated with all the BS. I disagreed that I needed mental health support because this all started in 2017 and EVERY DOCTOR HAS NO EXPERIENCE WITH A CASE LIKE MINE BUT KNEW MORE THAN ME ABOUT WHAT I WAS FEELING WEATHER THIS PRACTICE OR PAIN MANAGEMENT. He takes his time with you, he listens to your concerns and he maps out which direction is needed to be taken to help solve the issue. I have personally been seeing him for 11 years and would not want to go anywhere else for my Primary Care. Dr. Facemyer is really laid back/cool and easy to get along with. The office/waiting room is always very clean and the exam rooms are always super clean. The nurses (Laurie & Maureen) are awesome! They treat you like you are family .. they will laugh, joke and talk with you like they've known you forever. I think that they mix perfectly with Dr. Facemyer and really elevate your visit to a whole different level. They can usually fit you into any day needed if things change with your schedule or if something pops up before your next scheduled visit Dr Facemyer's office is also in a great location! Located in Austintown next to the Giant Eagle "Get Go" gas station with both on and off ramps leading to which ever direction you are coming or going makes it a simple drive! The parking lot is safe and provides plenty of parking spaces. I felt the need to write this quick review because I was seeing a few other reviews about the 'wait time' .. As I said in my opening paragraph, you may wait a little longer than you would at other doctors offices, but to me, I would rather wait a bit and be able to spend time talking with my Doctor than quickly being rushed in and having 2 minutes to speak to my doctor. Besides, good things come to those who wait :) I'd give Dr. Facemyer & his Nurses/Staff a 10 star review if I was able to, but, they definitely get 5 stars from me! I phoned the office on a Thursday and asked for a call back. I would go in, if necessary, but did not know their restrictions for Covid. I never got a call back on that day or the next. When I did call back on Friday, the office had closed for the day (1 pm) and the service at that same number was not taking messages. I contacted my pharmacy, which faxed a request to the office on my behalf and it was denied, probably because I had not been seen by the doctor, which tells me she didn't get my message. I still had had no contact with my doctor and spent a very miserable, painful weekend before calling a telemedicine doctor and obtaining a simple antibiotic. This same scenario took place in June where I wanted a consult and did not receive a call back, so this isn't the first time the front staff at Dr Porter's has ignored calls or been very unhelpful and unfriendly. If possible, they are even more irritable and unfriendly in person. There were others complaining about the staff when I was in the waiting room at my annual physical earlier this year so this isn't just my opinion. Because of the staff alone, I am looking for another doctor. I love Dr. Porter and it's really too bad that she probably doesn't even know how the staff treats her patients. Everyone deserves a doctor whose staff cares as much about the patients as the doctor does. This office doesn't have that kind of staff. Anyone reading this and looking for a doctor should know you can expect deep sighs and eye-rolls from the staff in Dr. Porter's office. It makes your health seem very unimportant.

A few days before that appointment they called to reschedule yet again, this time the next available was in October. I wasn't making an appointment for preventative care, I have an issue that I need to see them. Needless to say I told them to cancel this appointment all together after wasting 6 months I am not happy to say the least.
