What do you have is Chef Bob Waggoner who has been a recognized chef for 30+ years. An affable, friendly, humorous teacher of skills and cooking, who will answer your questions quickly and effectively. The food "we" prepared, obviously with a lot of help from Chef Bob, was delicious beyond belief. Bob of course chooses the menu and buys all of the ingredients for each one of the appetizers, of the main course, and the dessert. As you smell what you are cooking, it comes alive to your nose and to your other senses. After that you sit down and eat your appetizer and then go back to fix your main course and then of course the dessert later. I wish that my photos would give some idea of the tastiness of our meal. It is so difficult to explain the taste of a meal that you have created, although Chef Bob was quickly back and forth to each of the 6 stoves being used by 12 strangers, who by the end of the evening (2 1/2 hours!) were not strangers any longer.

His tour is a delightful experience that takes you back in time to really understand why this cuisine is so important to our country's heritage. The walking tour is very pleasant and truly interesting, and the lunch that follows is absolutely amazing. The menu changes with the season and is always made with nothing but local ingredients. This time we started with a delicious Butternut Squash soup followed by Shrimp and Grits. Now, this one of my favorite dishes and I've never tasted better. We finished with bread pudding made from Krispy Kreme doughnuts?? Shut the front door! My wife and I would do this again and again. This a must do, and we highly recommend you put it on your list!

Walked for about an hour through historical places and ended up at the Azur restaurant. Chef says he changes the menu weekly, but we had gazpacho THAT WAS AMAZING, the best shrimp & grits of my life and ended with a local Huguenot torte. Tip: Pack a bottle of water for the walk - or you can purchase a drink near the beginning of the walking tour at a coffee shop. We take food tours everywhere we travel and this one was the best, hands down!

Charleston Upper King Street Culinary Tour Guide: Georgia…read more 4 stops is pretty low for a food tour, especially since the last one was gelato. Our 3rd stop was a chicken quesadilla and tortilla chips with salsa and queso. I would never call that a "culinary experience". The mussels on the first stop was good but it was shared and some people are gross. A woman I was sharing with used the fork she ate off of to pick mussels out of our shared bowl AND double dipped her bread in the mussel juice. Individual small portions would've been better especially considering I traveled alone. I chose this company because it was local, when I typically use the same one, thinking it would've been the best. I was fooled. This was my least favorite food tour of all my travels. The others might be better. Stops & Food: 1. 39 Rue de Jean- mussels, bread, truffle fries, and brussel sprouts 2. Uncork Charleston - meatball (golf ball sized) 3. El Jefe Texican Cantina- chicken quesadilla, tortilla chips with queso and salsa 4. Tinto Café & Provisions- gelato

I would give her 10 stars if I had the chance!…read more I would like to thank Chef Emily for taking such good care of my family yesterday. We all had a great time participating in the meal preparation during the cooking lesson she gave us at our home. All of us agree that the quality and taste of the food she had us prepare was on a par with the best restaurant meals we have experienced. While the paella tasted excellent, I personally thought the marinated grilled lamb "lollipops" appetizer we prepared was an amazing taste experience. The dessert of chocolate lava cakes with raspberry ice cream put us all over the top at the completion of the meal. Chef Emily somehow managed to get us a first class meal while giving each of us personal attention, including our 10 year old granddaughter, as we learned to execute her recipes and cooking techniques. She even did all the shopping before and cleanup after too. My expectations were exceeded and I am glad I chose her when I went searching for a chef to give us a high level cooking lesson in our home as a birthday gift for my wife. In addition to all that culinary talent, she is an amazing personality too and fit right in the entire time she was with us.

Our niece and her fiance are pescatarian, so Private Chef Charleston designed a delicious menu to delight them as well as our guests: beautiful shrimp, deviled eggs, seared tuna, pasta salad, grilled asparagus, delectable cheeses, brownie bites, key lime tarts, hot crab dip, and more. They offered a top-shelf full bar, but also set up dispensers of iced tea and Pimm's Cups, which were so refreshing for a summer party. They arrived at 3 pm to set up and my husband and I actually got to relax, get dressed, and enjoy the party! The cleanup was just as amazing--they packaged all the leftovers in our refrigerator and washed and dried every single platter, dish, and utensil. We are still receiving rave reviews from our guests and we can't wait to work with them again! We give Private Chef Charleston our highest recommendation!
