First and foremost, Leah is AMAZING. What a sweet person. She's so welcoming easy to talk to and is very well versed in the field that she is in. Leah is a professional, who knows exactly what she's doing! She doesn't force a bunch of products down your throat or make you feel like you need all these things to get better skin. Unfortunately I had a bad experience. I was running 10 mins late because their text confirmation doesn't even give you the address so I had to pull over and call them to find our what location I should be heading to. Then when I got there I got a different procedure done and it was very rushed. The front desk girl later scheduled me for another procedure 3 days later and they charged me for a late cancellation no show fee when I don't recall of agreeing to a procedure 3 days later after my first one. I asked her to work with me and she just sounded like a robot and didn't even care that I told her I didn't know the second procedure was 3 days from my first one. I asked to see if she can see me later and she said no. The date that was given to me was rushed to me as there was another patient waiting to be seen. **beware before you book for virtual consultation** first let me start by saying Medskin Essentials gave me a virtual consultation during pandemic for lip, cheek, and chin fillers. This time around I am looking to dissolve my lip fillers and get lip fillers, start fresh. I went online to their booking system where it allows you to select between skin care and dermal filler appts. I of course selected dermal filler appts and it allowed me to schedule a virtual appt. My appt was on 03/07 at 12:30pm I receive a phone call from their office at 9:20 am day of my appt and the receptionist I spoke with stated that the nurse only does virtual inspections for skin care not fillers. I said OKAY(not going to argue even though they have provided me the virtual consultation for filler) and I said well then go ahead and cancel appt because that's not what I booked online. She attempted to book another day for an in person consultation and advised me $150 would be charged to my card(even though I already paid the $25) I told her that I would call back and schedule the consultation appointment. At this point I have not asked for the $25 refund for my virtual consultation they told me THEY COULDNT provide me. Once I hang up I get an email with a receipt attached for $150 cancellation appointment. WHAT?! A $150 cancellation fee for an appt THEY COULDNT provide me. I called back and the receptionist said she was going to contact the office in Riverside to refund the money. She calls back and says they are going to refund the money that it was "glitch" in the system. & that she was going to send me a copy of their disclosure online where it states they do not offer virtual consulations for fillers. I also just reviewed my email where it states a $25 cancellation fee would be applied if I do not cancel 24 hours before my appt BUT they charged me$150. This company really charged me a whole $175 for a virtual consultation that ALLOWED me to book online for dermal fillers & THEY CALLED me and told me they weren't able to go through with the appointment. "A picture speaks a thousand words" is the most accurate quote I can think of when post this review. I am completely astonished with the results of my dermaplaning. My skin is glowing like never before and I have been receiving complaints left and right. Given our current societal standards taking a picture without a filter is the rawest form an individual can expose themselves to the world. Up to now, I have always been embarrassed of my prominent peach fuzz and texture of my skin. Hiding behind filters was the only way to gain some sort of confidence. I absolutely adore Aileen, I've had over 15 friends who I have recommended to come here and loved her and her work as well. The office is super cute and decorated tastefully. The location is amazing, very close to local food places & coffee shops (I recommend going beforehand as you cannot eat after getting lip injections). I recommend everyone I know to come here just because I am so over the top happy with my lips. I have had two syringes injected, I had them injected at separate time. The first time was great I bruised more the first time than the second which Aileen said was normal. I wanted my lips fuller so I went back six months later to get a second syringe. My honest review on my hydrafacial + dermaplaning experience: This is my honest opinion and hope somebody would find this helpful. I chose to support to this business because I follow an influencer on IG that comes here often for this treatment. So I decided to give it a try. To begin with, I didn't find it to be a "spa-like facial" experience like you get everywhere else. It was pretty much a dentist chair and you sit there with your shirt and shoes on and the PA began my treatment after asking questions about my skin, etc. She did not use any steam or hot towel to open up my pores before hand, she just went straight to it to cleanse. On my DRY face that had product like (sunscreen, moisturizer, etc) on my skin, she began with a VERY small amount of cleanser. It was such little cleanser I really feel like she could have used a SMALL amount more. She was rubbing her hands together to literally make more. It really felt like she was just rubbing my dry face. I am somebody who likes a lather and for my face to be wet or moistened before applying cleansers on. There was no lather and it really felt like there was a super frugal amount of cleanser on my face. What threw me off guard is that she had clean gloves on and she took a picture of my skin with a phone for a "before" picture. As we all know, phones harbor lots of bacteria. With the same phone gloves she performed the rest of my procedure. Next, she began dermaplaning with a scalpel. This part was cool but there is still hair left on my upper lip and chin/jaw area. Also, she very bluntly removed hair from my jaw and didn't bother to slightly blend it with my neck. There is a day and night difference of missing hair now from my jaw bone to my upper neck. I didn't like how she took no product/cleanser or dermaplaning to my neck area. The neck is apart of your face and the neck is just as important as the face. I was always taught to never neglect the neck. She didn't even go 1cm further from my jaw. There is hair on my jaw. This felt really frugal to me. After the dermaplaning she began the hydrafacial part. The hydrafacial was the main thing I paid for and she barely spent time on this!! I don't think it covered my ENTIRE FACE. I truly felt like she could have took her time with this. I don't feel like the suction hit every inch of my face. I am super picky with this part and want the suction to HIT EVERY CORNER of my face. I truly feel like she missed areas my side cheek and upper lip and the tip of my nose. I am convinced she didn't suction my nose properly because I still see black heads on it which is so inconvenient. Afterwards, she began extractions. She used no tools to extract just her fingers and a napkin. She popped maybe 2 pimples on each cheek and squeezed my nose alittle. My nose was not properly squeezed or cleaned because there are visible black heads still. Other places I have been to have done very thorough extractions especially on the nose area with tools and stuff. This part lasted maybe 3-4 minutes and she only used her fingers. It didn't feel like esthetician extractions. It really just felt like popping a couple pimples at home. Afterwards, there was a mild peel, neutralizer, and she added antioxidant serum with the hydrafacial wand. She would dab the wand in a couple places and rub the serum with her hands. Again, the wand did not touch every surface of my face. Next there was a calming mask and LED light. The mask rubbed off on a large portion on my forehead while we were trying to put on my goggles. She did not reapply it to the area it rubbed off on and put me under the LED. Afterwards, she put on a moisturizer and sunscreen. Overall, the experience felt frugal. Felt like she was really trying to save ingredients and products. My facial felt so dry. I feel like she could've been more generous using the cleanser and the suction wand. I just expected the wand to suction every inch and corner of my face. The suction wand is the main thing that draws people in. What upset me is when I went into the car and squeezed my nose in the mirror, little blackheads and pus was still coming out. This means my nose especially wasn't properly cleaned, extracted, or suctioned. My dermaplaning could have been better especially near my jaw and chin. It wasn't gonna cost the business to go bankrupt if she had just gone 1cm down my jaw bone and blended in the hair a little. It looks very blunted and shaved. Hope this review helps somebody. I am really picky and would definitely do lots more research before picking another place. read more
