We had just arrived at Bridgeport State Park when our truck started making a strange noise. We put our boat in the water and parked the truck at a campsite. That is when we noticed a waterfall under the truck. Looked for a hose leak or a radiator leak, but couldn't see anything. Since it was late afternoon, we decided to deal with it the next day. Looked for auto repair in Brewster, the closest big town 12 miles away, and located Medrano's. What wonderful people! This is a one-man shop and they normally work by appointment only, but when we showed up unannounced, Mr. Jose Medrano came out, took a look, ran a simple diagnostic test and said it was the water pump. He said he would order the pump and, since our truck is also our RV, do the work in one day. We drove back to camp. My husband took the truck over the next morning, arriving at a quarter to 9, Mrs. Medrano drove him back to the park so we could go fishing until the work was done. We called about 1 pm and Mr. Medrano said his wife was on the way to pick us up, the work was done! That is service above and beyond. The charge was well within the going rate for the work and exactly the quote we were given. We really wish we had caught a fish so we could give it to them. Medrano's does good work, the price is right on and they are good people. We would recommend them highly. read more

Absolute worst experience ever. I brought my car in for over heating issues. I was told it was the head gasket. I paid roughly $5000 for the head to be rebuilt and got the car back. Right away I started to notice blue smoke every time I start the car and I can see the exhaust when im driving (which is something that never happened before i took the car in) I drove the car for about a week and started having power issues as well?? I addressed the situation and Jose asked me to bring it back in for testing. When I brought it in we found out there was almost no oil in the motor? I think we added around 3qt of oil.(Mind you this is less than 1500 miles put on the car at this point.) He tried to say I didnt check the oil? So we add oil and he tells me to drive it and see what happens. I take it back in at about 3000 miles now and its doing the same thing (burning oil somewhere?) So now Jose tells me that Napa wants him.to do more test before they can say it is the head.. so i spend another $1000 for them do do more tests and replace other parts that probably should have been replaced to begin with. Once the parts were replaced he told be to drive it again and see whst happens.. NOTHING CHANGED! Still blue smoke and still buring oil?? After all of this BS I take it back in and he tells me now ( well because its past the warranty miles now theres nothing we can do at this point??) Im a little irritated and looking for legal advice at this point.. very disappointed! read more

Don't use these rip off artists. My mother in law went there with a leaky water pump and they told her she needed to resurface her cylinder heads and rebuild her motor for 4 grand. I called to ask more details and they told me "they have ways to know these are the things she needs" then were basically yelling at me on the phone trying to lie to me. I work on cars in my spare time so I am not so easily fooled. These guys just through the most expensive thing out there and said she needed and were very upset I even called to question them about it. If I didn't live 3 hours away I would be over there fixing it myself. Take your car somewhere else and avoid this place at all costs. read more

This place is great with an honest and quality mechanic. They only doc what is needed and give you options if they exist. Had a rear ac line leaking. Due to the size the shipping and part was close to 1K. He said he could try a old school patch and if it held I paid if not no charge. $200 and 8 years later the JB weld is still working. This guy is as fair and honest as they come. read more
