But every thing here is about the large, no massive, force and impression of local nature, of the Bad Lands, and of nearby Theodore Roosevelt National Park. First, get your tickets ahead of time online. There were multiple who left disappointed because tours were sold out today. There is an outside element to this museum, so walk it, and take in the views, nature, native plants, and the fresh air. The building features a green roof that you can (and should) walk on and across. For the view if for no other reason. Parking was easy. And free. There is a restaurant inside with locally sourced food. Tasty and affordable. There is a good gift shop inside too. The museum is awesome. As random, broad, deep, unpredictable, impactful, occasionally challenged by "things back then that are different now" and interactive in ways you have to experience yourself. Pro tip: take the wrist band and sign in with it. Multiple fun interactive kiosks await you. TR had his faults and poor decisions, and those are here for your interpretation. TR was also larger than life. This interactive museum, in this immersive and impressive landscape, are all larger than life and worth exploring. Bully!

The first part is a very informative, walk-through of his life through various rooms that resemble interiors of his childhood. It's extremely tight and crowded in there, so I skipped most of it in order to get out of the claustrophobic section. Thankfully, it opens up into an atrium that continues with his life. This section is laid out very well. You can stop at various events and read more info about his life. I was glad to see there was one kiosk, devoted to TR's lack of initiatives to reverse the rampart racism in our country at the time, suggesting that he could've done much more, but because of political reasons, chose not to. Two more thoughts. I had a awful time at the museum Restaurant. Waited 35 minutes for my main special of the day, the bison sloppy Joe, it wasn't very tasty. And in more positive note. I actually enjoyed the outside of the museum slightly more than the inside. It's a beautiful landscape overlooking the surrounding canyons and mountains. Plenty of places to walk around, worth visiting, without the museum entrance fee.

The Ranch it about 6 miles out of town, about a mile of which is on a dirt road Being remote as it is lends to the serenity, view of the Badlands and night stargazing! Make sure to take in the Medora Musical!!!

I'm writing this on behalf of both my mom and myself…read more My mom booked the room under the wedding event rate, and since I arrived early on Friday, I paid for it -- nearly $300. I had no idea what the rate was supposed to be, but my mom had received verbal confirmation that it was a flat fee of $99 per night for the wedding, totaling about $198 + tax. What they don't tell you is that they charge per person in the room -- which is absolutely ridiculous, especially since the room sleeps six! When I brought this up, I was told, "No, that's right. We charge per head." I replied, "The room sleeps six. It should just be a flat rate across the board." The employee insisted that "all the rooms here and in Medora do it that way." I told her that was nonsense -- because no hotel or Airbnb charges hidden per-person fees like that -- and she got upset that I said "horseshit." Apparently, that was enough for her to tell me to leave and nearly take my receipt. This charge will be disputed, because you can't advertise a flat event rate and then secretly tack on extra "per head" charges after the fact. The food itself was decent, but even that experience wasn't great -- I was snapped at during the wedding dinner because my tray wasn't on the "bottom" of the conveyor when going through the line. There's no reason to yell at paying guests over something that small. As for the room, we were located near the campers. That wasn't the problem -- but waiting 30 minutes for hot water to reach the shower definitely was. The sink got hot instantly, so that made zero sense. Then we found a live worm in the bed my mom was sleeping in, and the door didn't seal properly, which probably explains the centipede we found inside too. Overall, the food was the only halfway decent part of the stay -- but between the surprise "per head" charges, rude staff, and bugs in the room, I would absolutely not recommend staying here.

First I will say it was a bit busy because peo were trying to get something to eat before the show in Medora, but that doesn't excuse rudeness! Our waitress was very blunt, and short with us and when I asked what beers they had on tap, her answer, "We have ultra, an IPA and a brown ale!! What happened to all the multiple crafts that your website says you have! Oh well! Ordered the IPA and she brought it back rather quickly! Ordered our food and then waited for quite a long time for a couple of burgers! Like 45 minutes and in that time, the waitress never stopped by to se if we wanted anything else to drink! Had to flag her down and wave her over to get her to stop back at our table! With my second beer almost gone, our food finally arrived! I don't mind waiting for food when I know they are busy, but that food should at least come out hot and fresh! Nothing even remotely close! My fries were rubbery and cold and my burger was no where near even Luke warm! If I lived near by, would never stop again! My suggestion for anyone traveling through, find someplace else to eat! Not worth the money!

He Didn't explain anything. So let me mention a few details about the room. The curtains including the curtain rod did not even extend to cover the window fully. There was used soap in the shower and there was only 1 towel for 2 people. According to my reservation confirmation and their website a continental breakfast is included but the only food in breakfast room was stale bread and cereal. After we checked in we never saw anyone that worked there again. Did run into a young couple who told me that they had to sleep outside in vehicle bc despite paying for a room online. They couldn't not raise anyone by shouting or using the phone at desk. My husband walked by the front desk several times in the morning and saw no body. He did see however that the laundry room was completely nonfunctional. Not that we needed it but others often wash clothes on an extended trip. There appeared to be several, like almost all the rooms on 2 nd floor unoccupied. In that case why not put us in a room that didn't face highway and hear all the highway noise?
