When I moved back home to NOLA four years ago I wanted a family doctor that was fairly young who…read morewould keep up with the advancements in medicine and treat me with a multi-culturally competent way (ie. understand the Filipino-American culture or Asian culture in general). Dr. Alex Hoang is Vietnamese-American and fits the bill! I was refered to him because I went to high school with his partner's wife. The office opens early in the morning, they always fit me in whenever I get sick (which considering I now carry an Epi pen is quite often apparently! Jk) and they get back to me ASAP! The staff treats me with dignity and respect and are friendly! My yearly exam includes a heart ultrasound, EKG, breathing test. Etc. and they can do all of this in-house! They have laptops so that your records are now electronically stored. The prescriptions get printed out which is awesome! There are also two parking lots which is convenient. Plus the waiting room is comfy with leather couches, regular chairs, flat screen tvs, magazines , kid toys etc. I would recommend them to all my friends and family! Addendum: as I'm waiting as a walk in patient (my normal doc has the day off so going to see one of the other two docs) I noticed that the bus stop is right in front of the office which might help people who use the bus out here! I also forgot that there is a mini parking lot out front too. In the examining room area on the right hand side there is a larger bathroom with baby changer. I'll post pix later. On the left hand is the smaller bathroom with no baby changer.

I used to go as a walk I'm, I would been seen within the 1 hr. I have referred many family, friends and colleagues to this place. I can honestly say since Covid, I make appointments first. I follow the directions before my appointment and it usually fast. Lately I have some issues with the billing. Once I call their billing dept, it is cleared up fairly quickly.

I had a huge panel of tests to take that required an overnight fast for 10 hours. I had also been…read moresent home with some DIY tests that I was asked to bring with and turn in to the lab upon arrival. (stool test-ew!!) While I knew the lab was across the street from Main Campus, I did make one wrong turn before I found where I was supposed to go. They could really use numbers on the buildings to help navigate people. There was only a half dozen people in the waiting area in a huge space that could easily hold hundreds. I checked in at the main desk with two friendly, kind and communicative women. All of my check ins with receptionists have all been positive, and informative/helpful. I completed my urinalysis collection on site and waited to be called. I turned in all my DIY tests and sat to have my blood drawn. I verified my information about a hundred times, but it also helped distract me from the needle. No one likes needles, really. I had 5 vials taken and when she was wrapping up my arm she chose a teal tape to match my shirt. On the previous Monday, the phlebotomist picked pink to also match my shirt. It's the little things that go a long way to make us feel human, rather than a number. Again, I was in and out in no time and felt that I was on the right path to taking care of my own health.
