Today, we were lucky to experience the Taste of Congo. I know that I ordered some "not too adventurous" foods, and it was amazing. The Beef Stew was incredibly flavored. I know it was probably toned down for the average American, but sooo delicious. The meat was tender and spiced. The fufu was great, and I got to eat with my hands while my wife looked on in aghast... she used a spoon. The beignets were delicious! I say were because they are always gone so quickly!

I liked the kwanga a lot better than pounded cassava fufu I have had from other restaurants: it had more flavor (a slight tang), and was less sticky. The pondu was good too! I'm not very familiar with African food, and the menu items were mostly unfamiliar to me. Even so, I'm thoroughly pleased with my take-out order (ugali with beef that also came with a couple sides: a little salad and lentils with cooked greens of some sort)! It was maybe a 15 min wait for my food to be prepared after ordering, but it came out hot and flavorful! I look forward to coming back again.

Decided to take a chance and give this place a visit. There is a good amount of parking outside the place, and it is not the most obvious looking restaurant. Once you find it, it is a large room that looks like a bar in the distance and plenty of seating in the periphery of the building. There was one server who was stretched thin in terms of tasks, so it was not always easy getting their attention without walking up to the bar. Despite that, service was friendly and nothing to complain about. The food selection is what you would find at most Ethiopian places including Tibs, Kifto, Wats (including Doro Wat), and multiple different meat and vegetarian combos. I decided to get raw kitfo, because I drool at places that make this dish. Not only was it spicy like I wanted, the seasoning and flavour is actually one of the best I have ever had. Literally, one of the top places I have ever had Kitfo in my life, and I have been to many Ethiopian restaurants. Prices are about $25-$35 per person, so I it is definitely not on the cheaper side. Trying injera for the first time was a highlight, and the Ethiopian coffee was especially cool: served in a beautiful pot, with a small station where they roast the beans and prepare it fresh. The vegetables were some of the freshest I've ever tasted. Their cucumbers were amazing, and those black olives were delicious! Their French fries are great, their rice is delicious, and their chicken tastes like somebody put it in some amazing spices before cooking it. Everything had so much flavor! But let me tell you what really stood out to me: that Greek yogurt they put on top with the cheese is AMAZING! I could go back just for that! The employees were wonderful too. They made me laugh, had smiles on their faces, and made the whole experience even better. The restaurant was super clean, and they have great parking, which is always a plus.
