Our TiVo Box apparently fried the mother board on a Saturday. On Monday we were told that they were installing a new box. It worked OK for 9 days, then stopped on the weekend. The next person who came said the gentleman before had installed an old box. He gave us a new box, fixed a few other problems and this time, the box failed after 5 days. Both men were very nice and my problem is, why can't we get a working TiVo box? All we get is service calls every Monday. I give them a good review for coming out, but no one solves the problem. we are Seniors and kind of tired of paying over $200 a month and losing our TiVo every few days. read more

Is it even legal to bill a month in advance? Today is Nov 7 and got a bill for 11/11-12/10. A d secondly our hill went up 14 dollars for no reason. Dude Mediacom is the worst. Can't wait to cancel. If I could give them a 0 that would be my honest rate. read more

Horrible Company. Claimed I did not return equipment when I had a signed receipt that I did return it. Turned the bill in to collections over 5 years later. My bank called to notify me of the hit on my credit report. Due to my exceptional credit score. Affected my credit score/rate. Nightmare. Said thr was nothing they could do EVEN THOUGH I HAD A SIGNED RECEIPT THAT I HAD RETURNED THE EQUIPMENT due to the fact my bill was so old. Run!! read more

This is the worst Internet service anywhere. Seldom delivers at more than 10% of the promised speed. Outages nearly every day of the week. Service is surly and customer service doesn't pick up or respond. Sadly, they are the only Internet provider in Dubuque, IA. read more

Mediacom refuses to address service outages in my area. They have given a total of 2 months credit for the interiptions, however I didn't get those until I reviewed my bill and saw they didn't add credit for service interruptions for the previous 9 months of service. I get maybe 50% of advertised speeds and the reliability has been around 75% over the past 9 months. I contacted mediacom and they claimed they have 99.99% network reliability. Government needs to step in and hold this company accountable for these actions. read more

Internet slows down every day and for the speed I subscribe to (12 mb) I only get less than half most of the time. In addition, this service has frequent outages - no internet. Totally unacceptable, yet charges premium price to subscribe. Their customer service is almost non-existant and good luck in getting good deal they promise. You will need it when your bill comes with confusing pricing scheme and extra charges you would not expect. Since they serve small town and competition here is almost non-existant, they do not have to try hard to provide good quality of service. Cable nodes are oversubscribed, never upgraded resulting in poor service. read more

Guilford County workers accidentally severed Mediacom above ground buried cable Mon afternoon 12/10. My neighbors and I contacting Mediacom we were told earliest appointments "to check things out" would be Thurs. 12/13. Tues 12/11 a neighbor flags down a Mediacom truck that notes "they aren't able to fix it." I call Mediacom Tues 12/11 and the rep wants me to "unplug and plug (in) my modem to see if that will work. I ask to talk to a supervisor- who isn't available, and rep tells me they'll "expedite my request." I once again tell the rep "it's the main fiber optic cable!" Today 12/13 I call them again and am told "tech is on way." Once again Mediacom had no notes regarding their main cable having been severed. About 20 minutes after the cable was repaired I received a call from Mediacom rep stating that the repair "may take up to 48 hrs." Note: The servicemen were professional, polite, and apologetic. Mediacom office reps were clueless and in knowledgeable. read more

Mediacom has the absolute worst customer service. Every time I call, I'm dropped and not called back. The agents over the phone are not helpful. And every time I call I'm on hold for at least 15 minutes. read more

My internet has not worked for 24 hours now what a load of crap. Good thing they overcharge me and never give me the speeds I pay for.

I'm writing an update to this. After contacting Mediacom about the service, i was informed that they were aware of issuss in the area and needed to upgrade their switching equipment, which was both older and had suffered some damage due to the extreme weather. This was done two weeks after my initial complaints. Since then I have had hardly any outages on my internet service. Kudos to Mediacom for being attentive and fixing the issue. read more

Customer support is horrible. Initially happy with the service. My underground cable was broken during construction. The location of the break had already been located by a service when the technician came out. I showed him where I believed the break to be. His response, he wouldn't dig but would contact someone to reinstall a cable. 2 weeks passed, no cable. Called again, same technician comes out, same response except he doesn't know why cable hasn't been buried. 2 more weeks, still no service. Call to them today, supervisor says they will send a technician. Told him we've been there, done that. He says that's all he can do. But he adds that if a cable is needed that won't happen because the ground is frozen. Mentioned it wasn't frozen when first started this fiasco. Horrible service, solicitous jerk. I started Mediacom March 5th in Asbury for strictly internet. Our internet varies greatly, it goes from good (nearly the speed we're paying for) to barely any, to none. It cuts out a lot. I told my dad the experience I've been having and he said he had similar issues in his area when he had Mediacom, that he would call them and ask them how many times it disconnects and it would disconnect 600 times on average a month. Today, I tried using their chat service. The lady didn't know how to check how many times it disconnects, but did apologize greatly for my problems and is planning on giving us credit towards our next bill. She gave me a phone number for me to try to see if I could find out how many times it disconnects. I call their number, get the stupid automated voice, and am put on hold twice. The person who finally answers, wouldn't tell me how many times it disconnects and schedules a tech person to come out as soon as possible, which is in 3 days. Then tries three times to get me to upgrade to cable/phone/internet bundle after I told her firmly no. I'm just not happy with the service we're getting and if it doesn't get better, we're switching. Would not recommend. UPDATE: They did not credit towards our bill. Would not tell me when our automatic transaction goes through, or how long it takes their one-time-payment to pend. read more

Absolutely horrible service and customer service. The router they provide you with is laughably outdated. I pay $60 per month for 100 mb/s. I regularly only get 40-60. The website you have to log into to pay your bill locks you out for using the same username and password you've been using for months in hopes that you'll rack up a late fee. Don't even think about going over your data cap because just like all of Mediacom's other prices, the charges are INSANE. I'm so happy there's some competition in town now. Constant service outages, horrible customer service, bad pricing on mediocre cable packages - if you like those qualities, by all means, sign a 2-year contract with a substandard cable/internet provider. We're currently on our 4th lengthy outage in as many days, and these are just times that I've attempted to access service. On very rare occasions do you get the internet speeds you pay for, it's typically 10-20% of what the speeds should be, even during off peak hours. Services are rather pricey. DVR service and equipment goes out annually and then you have to go get new equipment or pay for a service call. read more
