Just before I cancelled my service, workers came out to swap out my modem for the new model. They put the new one in and took the old one with them. I am now getting statements with them wanting me to pay $140 because I didn't bring back the OLD MODEM! They're trying to say that their workers don't take equipment with them but that's exactly what they did. Mediacom is the worst company ever. My internet service drops everyday and has been doing so for weeks. It is very frustrating. I called to cancel and was told that the outages have something to do with them transferring over to fiber optics. That is weird because I hadn't heard anything about this. If this is the case, it would have been nice to know what was happening and why. I said I would cancel and the response was, "when would you like your service to end." LOL. I am going to another provider ASAP. Internet that his randomly out throughout a day is useless to me. I stream TV. I have ipads and iphones that require wifi because my Verizon phone doesn't work using data. Sad really. They should reimburse people for the weeks that they had a lot of outages. We have had mediacom internet for many years. They have raised our bill $40 in two months. We called and they said they can't do anything about it. They could care less. Won't be with them much longer. read more

I have been a mediacom customer since 2004. They are now randomly changing my bill and every month it is more and more without any changes in service. The internet is not the best and as for cable well watching tv is watching tv. I called and questioned this and was told this is the way it is. I was told i was getting the best rates and my price would go up even more in October. I then decided to cancel. Mediacom could care less about keeping a customer and one who is never lete on bills. I am sure other providers will be please mediacom did nothing to try to keep a loyal customer. This is a useless Internet service provider. Service is spotty. I am supposed to be getting 150 Mb per second. If I get anything at all I barely get 60 Mb per second. Their service technicians tell me two different stories. First they tell me that it is the walls of the house that are causing the service to drop. But I can't get the speeds on devices that are wired directly to the router. Then they tell me that there are too many people in the neighborhood that are connected to the same post. Maybe they should upgrade their equipment to warrant what they are charging people. I have contacted their customer service several times on this issue. Their customer service is a joke. They don't care if you threaten to drop their service. They just keep raising the bill. They seem to think that they are the only Internet service provider around. I told them that I was going to call another Internet service provider today, and that I would be contacting them to let them know when I would terminate service with them. Their response back to me was "Thank you for contacting us about this issue. I'm glad that we could accommodate you. Thank you for being a Mediacom customer. Have a nice day". This all goes to prove that they weren't even listening to what I was saying. This is the worst Internet service provider that I have ever had. It's the worst customer service that I have ever encountered. Beware. read more

The Service Techs don't know their A___s from a whole in the ground. I purposely went with DISH after the last Mediacom person totaly screwed up the connections in my apartment building. It took the DISH guy over 3 hours to undo the mess that they made. My neighbors that just moved in across the hall had Mediacom come out to hook up their cable but screwed up my DISH connection in doing so. Now I'm sitting here with no reception and called the Customer service number only to be told that because I don't have an account with Mediacom, they can't schedule a tech to come out. So now I have to have the DISH folks come out and I have to take off work to be home so they can undo, ONCE AGAIN, the mess that another Medicom idiot created. read more
