So no one called me for a follow up so I called back and told exact words it's not their fault they can t control shipping. Mind you I was a little upset and stated well if you had good customer service you would go pickup the parts as they are only in Chicago. I was then told I was being rude...wait this gets better. My husband calls today September 22nd as they did not have the courtesy to give us an update and wait for it...now they tell us the parts are in Canada after my husband was going to drive and pickup the parts in Chicago. I understand shipping but I booked in advance as I wanted my husband home and I took an extra day off from work and still no date of when the installation will take place and no apologies. I had been a customer of Electric Doctor for several years. That all came to a screeching halt a…read morefew weeks ago. I called to obtain service on my generator, which wouldn't start. The sub-contracted 'technician' (and I use that term loosely) came out and replaced the battery...in the rain. All of the panels/switches became wet and again, the generator wouldn't turn over or set the exercise time. He was unable to get the generator to start again but spent almost an entire hour hitting the starter button and draining the new battery he had just installed. He eventually threw up his hands and said that "I can't figure it out". He told me that I would be contacted by a technician...we'll call him Jeff, within the week. The week passed and no call. I called the receptionist/Praetorian, who told me Jeff had been in Wisconsin but would call me the following week. The week went by and no call. I contacted the receptionist/Praetorian again, the following week. This time she scolded me for "circumventing the system". To this day I still don't even know what that means. I wasn't happy and let her know I wasn't happy. She then hung up the phone. Haven't heard a peep since. Most of you may think this is a terrible example of customer service and you'd be correct. However, there is a silver lining to this story. Instead of nickel and diming' myself into oblivion with their shoddy service, I obtained an entirely new unit that was not purchased, installed or serviced by The Electric Doctor. I have the ultimate satisfaction of never seeing them set foot on my property again. Sure, I squandered 300+ dollars on an inept technician but look at all of the money I'm saving you. You can choose to use this establishment if you wish but there are plenty of options here in Davenport. You'd be silly not to use these options. If you ignore my advice and use ED...you're just setting yourself up for failure.
