Electric doctor called the day before the installation date and stated that the parts were still in Chicago. Mind you I booked this way in advance and they cashed my check deposit. So no one called me for a follow up so I called back and told exact words it's not their fault they can t control shipping. Mind you I was a little upset and stated well if you had good customer service you would go pickup the parts as they are only in Chicago. I was then told I was being rude...wait this gets better. My husband calls today September 22nd as they did not have the courtesy to give us an update and wait for it...now they tell us the parts are in Canada after my husband was going to drive and pickup the parts in Chicago. I understand shipping but I booked in advance as I wanted my husband home and I took an extra day off from work and still no date of when the installation will take place and no apologies. They act like I am being difficult. In summary great service up front but follow up is horrible. Very rude and disrespectful office staff one in particular. Contacting the BBB.

Reached out about installing an appliance outlet in my garage - something I've done twice before at…read moreprevious residences. Both times, the local electricians were able to get the job done for less than $350. Electric Doctor sent out a guy for the initial estimate. He quoted me $1200. I told him that's insane, I will not be paying that, that it's 4x as much as anyone else has quoted me in the past. He made some phone calls and was able to cut the price in half ($610), which was still high, but I went ahead and agreed to the job. I made the mistake of paying in full, in cash, immediately after. In the meantime, an electrician I called a few weeks earlier (from a different company) texted me and showed up and installed the outlet. I made the mistake of thinking this was Electric Doctor and allowed him to complete the installation, only realizing my mistake once he asked me to pay him. I paid him the full amount (only $307!) and immediately called Electric Doctor to explain the situation and cancel my appointment. I was told that someone would reach out to me. Days and days went by, no one called. I called Electric Doctor multiple times in the following weeks and asked for the manager, who seemed to always be out/unavailable and was assured that they would call me back. Finally once I got a hold of them, a month later, I was told that only $255 would be refunded due to parts being ordered and paid for. I said that's fine, but that I would like to take possession of the parts if I paid for them (the cost of the outlet and the cover are around $65 at the local hardware store). I was told this was not possible and that I would have to eat the cost. Lesson learned - one electrician was able to install what I needed for less than the cancellation fee of Electric Doctor's appointment. Buyer beware.
