Huge selection of certain types of electronics. Granted, my expectations were that this would be more like a 'Best Buy' with no point of reference otherwise.
This was not really the case.
They had an amazing selection of TVs, Coffee makers, and DVDs. This would BE the place to find an awesome TV if you were in the market! Seriously!!
They didn't have several of the smaller kitchen appliances such as handheld mixers and only three coffee bean grinders, (only one physically available) and they were expensive.
Also, we were searching for a sewing machine and they had one brand (Singer- Good brand) to choose from, which I thought was kinda strange... But we did get one because the machine prompts were in English and it seemed easier than learning a new machine (and manual) and another language comorbidly.
There was a wide selection of music. Seemed that some CDs were cheaper than there are there (7.99 Euro) for some current popular artists rather than than what is is at the PX (closer to $16) and if the VAT form is considered, it makes it cheaper.
We found that at least one person did speak English at the service desk and several tried, most were very friendly. They did take the VAT form though the lady who had first contact didn't understand "VAT form" but "Tax Free" was an immediate spark.
Like in other stores were we have used the VAT, we paid the complete price first and then were prompted to return to the service area so they could refund the difference. This was initially not what were were told but they were very understanding.
It was a Saturday which we went and it was absolutely crowded, like they were giving away something... Which was also strange. The Mall in which it is located within was also busy but this place-- WOW-- it was shoulder to shoulder in some aisles.
Another observation from this 'new to Germany' Kentucky girl, expect that people may invade what you might consider your personal space. I have to say that I felt a bit crowded at times and I am not used to having strangers within my little bubble. So... Surprise!
We paid in euro so I don't know if they take credit cards. We would put the prices as 'reasonable' though on some things, I am sure I located them cheaper at places such as Kaflands (Misspelled probably-sorry!) such as light bulbs, but they would be cheaper on others like DVDs, CDs. Perhaps, look at more than one place if it's an expensive purchase or if you aren't certain it's what you'd want.
As for parking, we parked in the parking lot that is attached to the Mall and walked around the building to enter it. There were signs that suggested there might be more than one way into the place, but we didn't find it. We had to walk through the mall, up a flight, and to reach it. read more
