    Dr Ott…read more I want to publicly thank Dr. Ott at Selma Medical Center for the exceptional care and advocacy she recently provided me during a very serious medical situation. I have suffered from blood clots in my legs and lungs for more than 10 years. A few weeks ago, I went to the ER and was diagnosed again with blood clots and placed on blood thinners. During my follow-up appointment, Dr. Ott became very concerned about my condition and instructed me to return to Winchester Medical Center to be admitted for surgical treatment. Unfortunately, after spending nearly five hours in the ER, I was seen briefly by the ER physician, who never examined my leg and discharged me home. Dr. Ott did not accept that outcome. She spent hours personally investigating what had happened, reviewing records, identifying multiple errors in the ER doctor's report, and tirelessly advocating on my behalf until I was finally admitted to the hospital for the surgery I needed. What impressed me most was that she did all of this while continuing to manage a full day of patients. I later learned that the delays this caused in her schedule led to complaints from others, yet she never stopped fighting for my care and safety. Dr. Ott's compassion, professionalism, persistence, and willingness to advocate for her patient may very well have saved me from a much more serious outcome. In today's healthcare world, physicians like her are rare and deserve to be recognized. I will never forget the kindness and dedication she showed me. Thank you, Dr. Ott.

When we were taken into the exam room, the nurse took my mom's blood pressure, asked some questions, then went to bring the doctor in. We waited 20 plus minutes, then the doctor came in just to say we have to get a referral for X-rays at the diagnostic center ten minutes away, when we were told we could do the X-rays at this place. She told us if we wanted to do it here it would have to be at 2 pm. Then she got very disrespectful and raised her voice a bit and talked down to my mother like she was a child just because she wasn't pleased with the service so far. Very disgraceful behavior from a doctor when my mom was in immense nerve pain. Not only the complicated nonsense of going to an urgent care, paying $50 for co-pay, just to get sent somewhere else, but the horrible disrespect from the doctor. If there's one thing I don't tolerate from a medical practice is disrespect and attitudes instead of patience and empathy. Would not recommend this place at all or even return. The diagnostics center treated my mom so well and so much better. Save yourself some heartache and seek another urgent care.

Im sorry i cant remember all the nurses names and aides,but everyone was so helpful and caring. Mallory was the main nurse during the day and i remember another nurse was Christine I believe at night. I know there were others also and im sorry I cant recall their names. They did their best to answer any questions and were attentive all the time. Radiology and the ambulance got payed and had no issues. Over a year later Valley Health's main billing department still can not figure out how to get payed and constantly harasses me. Its not that my insurance wont pay its that they will not submit it properly and the VA kicks it back so they instead harass a disabled Marine corps veteran over their inability to to their job and bill properly. I get phone calls and letters over this bill that WOULD get payed if they just submit it properly. I have called them and tried to sort this issue out but they just keep resubmitting without fixing the issue and cant seem to figure it out. I do not recommend this hospital. If at all possible go anywhere else. They have terrible billing and will try to put you in debt you do not owe due to their own incompetence.

My complaint is I do not feel laboratory test should be ordered before a physician even sees you. Number two; the waiting time is unacceptable in the waiting room over 3 hours. The time spent after being taken to a room to see the physician in the ER was over 2 hours to see a physician, the physician and nursing staff were efficient, especially Ashlyn and should be commended . At the time of my visit, there was no water in the hospital, apparently due to a replacement of a main water valve near the highway. I was admitted to Observation and 9 hours after arriving in the ER I was moved to the 4th floor. my negative experience occurred the first night on the floor. The night staff were curt and did not listen to my concern. when I took medication there was one missing and I was told it was not on the list, I had to tell them it was being taken every night at home for cardiac arrhythmia and doctor ordered. Greatly lacking professionalism, courtesy and transparency. Noting, filing an outside complaint will result in retaliation by this entity. Sadly, this is a top-down problem starting with the CEO. Bottomline, they don't care about your health, your concerns or such other. Had to file outside complaints with Medicare and the WV Board of Medicine.

I waited a couple of minutes for the receptionist to come back to the desk so I could check in. I gave her my name and told her I was there for my appointment with (name withheld) stylist. It appeared the stylist was finishing up with their current client since I noticed the stylist combing the client's hair. Ok. I understand appointments can take a little longer sometimes; unfortunately, this was not the case. There was another stylist there who finished with their client and didn't have another one waiting. I was the only patron waiting for the first 15 minutes I was there. After that, one more person arrived and began waiting. I also noticed the stylist wasn't finished with their current client - they were now in the process of using foil sheets to highlight their client's hair. While I was still waiting, I looked through three hair style books. I started looking at my watch and the clock more frequently. Neither the stylist scheduled to do my hair nor the receptionist gave me an update on how much longer it would take for the stylist to get to me. After waiting for 30 minutes I had had enough. I re-arranged my work schedule for this appointment and had to be back to work in 18 minutes. I approached the receptionist and told her I couldn't wait any longer. She told me it should only be another 5 minutes. She then yelled over to the stylist who told her they'd be done in 5 minutes. There is no way the stylist would have been finished in 5 more minutes. I could see they were only half way through putting the foil sheets in their client's hair. I told the receptionist that I couldn't wait and that I was on my lunch break. She asked if I wanted to reschedule. Seriously, she did. No apology. Nothing. It gave me the impression that MY TIME is unimportant and that new clients don't matter to them. I am very disappointed with their "customer service" - or should I say lack thereof? I was looking forward to getting a great hair style from an experienced stylist at a highly recommended salon, but all I got was my time wasted. Granted, I do not know if the client my stylist was with was a "walk-in" or had an appointment before mine, BUT: 1. I had an appointment. 2. Highlighting takes a long time. 3. No one called me to let me know the stylist was still busy with another client (I provided them with my phone number when I made the appointment; I did not have any missed calls or receive a voice mail from the salon either). 4. I was a NEW client and this was my FIRST appointment and my FIRST impression. If you have extra time on your hands, then by all means, schedule an appointment and let the waiting begin. If you value your time, don't bother scheduling an appointment here - you will be disappointed.
