I visited MedExpress for potential cardiac side effects from my cancer medication. The wait was short and the nurses were attentive, thorough, and friendly. What was not great was trying to contact MedExpress afterward to request an EKG be faxed to my cardiologist (per his request). Repeated calls were disconnected by the automated system, and when I finally spoke to someone, they said they would contact a third party to send the records. Two weeks later, my cardiologist called to let me know they had not received anything from MedExpress. I called again and faced the same automated hang-ups. I was eventually transferred to billing, but the representative couldn't find my information and refused to transfer me or provide the correct contact number. After several attempts, I gave up and asked my cardiologist to fax the request directly, as I cannot send faxes. Even the hospital confirmed that getting medical records from MedExpress can be unreliable and difficult. This lack of responsiveness and transparency are serious problems for patients and doctors who need timely access to medical records. read more

Unprofessional, Zero patient care, misdiagnoses symptoms, treats patients with ZERO respect and is extremely condescending. I went to this location and the provider Prem Jayanthan treated me. Instead of listening to me, he said he wasn't doing anything for me and sent me away. 2 hours later the same day, I got in with an ENT and was diagnosed with a sinus infection, which is exactly what I told this provider. He told me there was no way I could have a sinus infection because my symptoms weren't "long enough" whatever that's supposed to mean. I truly has a top notch experience at this MedExpress location. A week ago I had to visit a different nearby location and the wait was much longer, but unfortunately I feel like that is common. Today when I arrived in the parking lot I called their phone number (412-367-3278) and began the process for an appointment. The lady on the phone told me a nurse will call me back to ask personal questions and then I will be allowed in. After 12 minutes I received the call, answered the questions, and walked right in wearing my mask. I did have to sit in the lobby for a couple minutes but that was no problem. That very kind nurse called me back and took my vitals. She walked me back to a different room were the doctor came in about 10-15 minutes later. He was the kindest doctor I have experienced at a MedExpress. He thoroughly examined the problem area and listened to what I had to say, which made me feel like he cared. He made sure to explain the medication that he was prescribing to me and that I had absolutely no questions or concerns walking out the door. To top it off, each room I was in was also very clean. I went to this location for a covid test. I asked the person behind the counter how much this visit would cost she asked about my insurance I told her I had great insurance the counter worker told Mr it would probably be my copay. I offered to pay the copay at the time of my visit. I was told that it had to go through billing (their website states there is a discount for paying for service at the time of the visit) after a long wait I was called to the back for a 15 minute test. Whe my card was charged the fees were 4 and a half times what my copay is. My wife just had surgery so my deductible has been met. My bank informed me this was not considered fraud but it sounded very unethical. Had I known how much the visit cost I would have go to the local ER as it would have been cheaper. Samantha was very rude and nasty to me when I asked what was taking so long after waiting an hour and a half in an empty waiting room. She said service was on a first come first serve basis, as she charged at me, and also there are a lot of people before me. I looked around the still empty waiting room and simply said "where???" To add insult to injury, she refused to let my friend, who drove me, come in and warm up, after waiting in his cold old car for an hour and a half. I read all the negative reviews and had to share my experience. I had a viral lung infection. Violent coughing and wheezing. As soon as I walked in the door, I was greeted by the friendly front desk staff. The girl could see I was struggling and offered me a bottled of water. It was crowded so I had a 30 minute wait or so. I was seen by Dianna Burick and she couldn't have been sweeter. She seemed genuinely concerned about my well-being and walked me through all the options. I was given a breathing treatment and sent home with some steroids and an inhaler. After the treatment I was already feeling much better. I was treated better than I have been at my PCP! Great staff! Just came up at 730p because I'm not feeling well, have had a fever and cough. I looked on the website prior to coming, it said it was open until 8pm and that walk ins were welcome, no appointment required. I Walked up to the front door 7:31p and asked for a COVID test. There was a girl who worked there cleaning the foyer, She said "nope, we're done for the day" I said "but it's only 730p your website says you're open until 8pm" she came back with "we stop testing at 630p, it gets dark" Maybe they really do stop testing at 630pm...but then you need to put that on your website. Don't leave people to drive out here for nothing. If "we stop testing at 630p, it gets dark" was complete baloney and the truth was more akin to "we don't want to be here later than we have to be, so you go away", it wouldn't surprise me at all... I went to the Med Express in Fort Myers Florida on Sunday 2/19/2023. After about two hours or so, I was finally diagnosed with a lower respiratory infection. They ran tests and concluded that I did not have the flu or Covid. All other tests they ran were negative. I was feeling really bad when I left to go and get my medications provided and, upon leaving, I forgot to get a note to return to work. I proceeded to head home and go to bed. I was in bed for the next three days. When I returned to work today, as per our company policy, they requested a note to return. I drove over to the Med Express by my work, which was the one I went to previously. I asked for a note to return to work as I had failed to do so previously. They told me that they could not give me a note because the person who saw me was not there. I asked them if they had my test results which were all negative, and they said yes. I then asked why the attending physician could not write a note to return. Get this...the physician stated that he would be unable to as he was not the physician that day, but he could if I wanted to do a more in-depth test (which obviously costs more money) and that, if negative, he would write me one to return in two days! Talk about stealing money for absolutely nothing! I refused and exited the facility. My boss is having surgery today and I have to be in the office to run it while he is out. If I could rate them lower than a one I would. This place is a complete waste of time. There are many better options for healthcare providers! Will not be returning. read more

Reviewing the Scott Township, PA MedExpress Urgent Care 1984 Greentree Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15220 So many dissatisfactory things happened with our visit to the Scott Township Med Express on November 21, 2020. Firstly, I want to say that the most important thing - the fast remedy to my wife's issue was accomplished, so kudos for that! However, I am inclined to report that all else was much less satisfactory. My wife is, sadly, a "regular customer" to this Med Express in regards to a mega migraine issue that she suffers from roughly once a year. She is given a cocktail of meds that bring her immediate relief - usually less than 2 hours in and out. On the morning of November 21, 2020 when we arrived, the sign out front read that we should call from the car...however "if it's an emergency, come inside". Though my wife was writhing in pain and vomiting in my car, I immediately called from the outside only to receive a message that "due to high call volume, we are unable to take your call - please call back again later. Click!" OMG what a horrible horrible thing to do to someone arriving at an URGENT care facility!! So, I went inside. Without asking as to why I entered the building, I was greeted with an immediate order to go back outside and keep calling. Really?? While my wife is in need of URGENT care?? I pressed and said that this was a true emergency and that she's been seen here before. I was allowed to leave my number with the promise that they would call me soon. After calling me and gathering all of the intake details including confirming my wife's phone number, I directed them NOT to call her number since she was pretty much incoherent. The question then came, "well, who's number should we call then?" Well, considering that they were actually speaking to me on MY number that they had called me on 2 minutes earlier, I simply replied "the same one you just called me on". Fine....and then we waited. It was only about 10 minutes...but then they called my wife's number(!). My goodness! She picked up but was unable to complete the call with them because she started vomiting again, so I ended up giving them all the additional details. Then we were allowed to come in. I wasn't permitted to stay with her, understandably with the Covid protocols, so I left her in their care, knowing that she's been well-tended to in the past. Unfortunately, about 90 minutes later when she came out to the parking lot - completely unattended - still groggy and out of sorts - she explained just how "not nice" the nurse and front desk staff were. The intake nurse immediately told my wife that she'll probably have to go to the ER. That was her initial greeting. Why would she be told that when she's been treated very appropriately and reliably at this facility in the past? The PA was a bit more attentive and then provided the needed doses of IV meds, however no one - NO ONE! - neither explained to her what meds were actually being administered, nor did anyone come in to check on her while she was resting and taking in the meds. Since I wasn't allowed to be with her, my goodness, why wouldn't there be a follow-up of care during the IV process? I am appalled that she was left alone during the entire process without any information about what was being done for/to her nor any follow-up other than when she was finished with the meds and discharged. And then, to be dismissed out to the parking lot without any assistance whatsoever! They could have, at the very least, called me to come in and get her. Thankfully, my wife ultimately did receive the meds she required and spent the rest of the day resting comfortably, but the rest of the experience was so daunting that it is necessary to share. I conveyed all of these details to Med Express and asked for a response via their feedback portal, but it's been 10 days and I've not yet received a response. Neither did my wife receive a reply back from her post-visit survey. This leaves me no choice but to post my comments publicly. read more

Due to Covid you have to wait in your car, then call to be seen. I arrived at 720 which was 40 minutes as I knew they had long wait times only to be told you are not seen in the order you arrive but in the order that they receive your call. Their phone lines do not open until 8 and I called rightvat 8 only to getba busy signal or a message that they cant take my call at this time. So I finally reach them at around 820, and wait forever in a room. My ear was very clogged and they send in someone new who never cleaned out an ear before. She uses the tool without the protective cover and proceeds to tell me she cant see any wax to remove. I advised her that I did not want someone with absolutely no experience to clean my ears so another nurse did the cleaning. I was there over 2 hours and my ear still feels clogged so I now have to go to my PCP to have my ear evaluated. The WORST! The one star is required but let me tell you, the only thing that is worthy of even one star was the kind girl at the reception desk. I took my child to this place because of a possible scratched cornea (he was in a lot of pain so I headed to the closest facility). After waiting ~2 hours, we finally saw a doctor who was completely rude to me and my son. He had no patience with him and tried to use scare tactics to try to gain his trust and cooperation. Clearly he doesn't know how to deal with children. In fact, he doesn't appear to know how to deal with adults either because he was rude to me as well. His rudeness and lack of even a shred of compassion caused me to walk out and head to the ER at Children's Hospital (where I should have gone first). They took 5 mins to gather pre-registration information then told me someone would contact me to finish registering and I'd see a doctor when they're available. I visited twice. The first was a virtual visit and the physician was good and the issue was resolved. The second visit was several months later in person and I was unimpressed by the entire experience. The physician was more concerned with social conversation than with what brought me there. I was the only one in the waiting room and waited for almost an hour. The treatment the physician prescribed was less than effective. I was also told that I would receive email summaries of my visits and that never happened. On both visits, I was informed there would be no copay due. This past week I get a bill for copay for both visits! When I called to discuss this the representative constantly talked over me and would not listen. He just kept saying I was given correct information and that it's my responsibility to know my insurance policy. A few days ago, I brought my daughter in for a deep cut. The front desk woman was so kind, and understood the urgent circumstance. The wait was about 10 minutes, and the nurse was very kind as well. My daughter was really upset and scared, and the nurse even brought a drink to help bring her stress levels down! I never caught his name, regardless he was great. Not to mention the incredible doctor, Dr. Jayanthan! He got her numbed and stitched up in such a timely manor, as well as provided reassurance and kindness in his service. I was truly satisfied during our visit, and I applaud this team of great people! Thanks again!! read more

He went in wanting help with his ear. Too much wax clogged up. And she was more concerned about his cough than him not being able to hear. When I asked her she said she can't go digging to get it out. So I asked to her to at least prescribe him ear drops. She didn't even do that!!! Luckily we didnt have to pay the 5 medicines she prescribed. It would've been over a hundred dollars of worthless stuff. Ok, so this is a Yelp by proxy. A friend went to Med Express a couple weeks ago. She had a small red patch of itchiness. She payed $40 for these idiots to tell her she had ringworm. So she FREAKS! Douses herself in this creme that the prescribe for her, and waits. and waits. and waits. Then about a week later. Holy effing monkeys! It is worse! How could it be worse? So she goes back. This time, not only does she see the PA, but also a nurse and the MD. You would think better results right? WRONG! They tell her its ringworm and its getting worse. keep using the creme. At this point, she talks to me about it and Im like... UMMM go to a real doctor, and refer her to my PCP. Long story shorter, she ends up at a dermatologist. Dermatologist says well of course its getting worse it is OBVIOUSLY eczema not ringworm and the ringworm meds are drying it out and making it WAY worse than it would have ever been on its own. So, 2 trips to MedExpress, 2 incorrect diagnoses, $80+ meds/lotions lost, and a month of pain and suffering all because these people tried to diagnose something they obviously had no clue about. Way to go on your Hippocratic Oath, I'm pretty sure there is something in there about do no harm and if you don't know what you are talking about STFU! DON'T GO HERE for anything other than a runny nose, they might amputate your arm or something. read more

I found her to be the kind of doctor that operates from an egotistical self serving place of self righteousness. The kind of doctor that assumes the patient does not know their own body nor should they be considered a part of the care plan.
